His soul match has powers beyond comprehension...and she needs his body to awaken them.

Boreas, now Brett, is one of the most powerful warriors of the fae world, and not worried at all about his undercover mission to assist humanity in fighting off rogue chaos princes. Until he meets Avery Williams, and feels a bond that entwines his very fate with hers.

He'd die for her, fight with his giant wand for her, and show her his true form, if only she would stop calling him crazy and let him awaken the hidden passion inside her heart.

Avery pretends to lead a normal life, while secretly helping the world with powers she doesn't understand and never asked for. But the odd, impossibly gorgeous man downstairs is ruining everything, calling to her heart and body as never before.

When darkness comes for Avery, Brett is there, giving her a glimpse into a world she never imagined. A world of danger and magic and wonder. A world where she might not survive if she doesn't awaken her powers, and learn about the powerful bonds that can either make her and Brett stronger or tear them both apart.

***A thrilling, sexy new fantasy romance filled with humor, warmth, adventure and a refreshing new world of passion and magic.

No cliffhanger. No cheating. Just safe, sexy romance with a very happy ending.

What the actual hell did I just read? This thing reads like a 12 year old wrote it. It's full of completely unrealistic characters, reactions, and sex scenes.

Magical king or prince or whatever is of course searching for his mate. Who he will know immediately upon just looking at her. He's a stunningly hot guy, who is a wonderful person too.
Enter clueless girl. She of course doesn't know he's magical, or her fated love, or that she's really magical. But that's fine, because his creepy ways don't scare her away or make her call the police... No, she's more interested than ever. Then he comes out and tells her that she magical and the way to get her special powers is to fuck him. No, really.
And she does it. And of course the sex is magical too. So perfect that her being a virgin just makes it so much better for everyone. Bam, she's a fairy.

I'm so glad I gave this book a chance! It blew what I was expecting to read about completely out of the water! I love the world the author has crafted. I can't wait to learn more about how the magic works and what the fae world is like. The writing style and pacing were so good. This book was also very VERY quotable.

Avery started off as a sassy, take-no-crap-from-anyone kind of gal and I really liked it. That's until I got to the second half of the novel and instead of opening up and coming to terms with the idea of maybe giving Brett a chance she went the other way completely in a stubborn show of force. It wasn't until the almost very end that she realized that the people in her life wanted her to be happy and to have her there as a friend instead of a savior. I understand her thought process with the trauma she's experienced in the past but it was still frustrating to read about.

Brett was such an interesting character! He's sweet, caring and strangely naive in some situations. Those situations were hilarious to read about. He almost has a childlike innocence to him in some aspects. Though when it comes to bonds, trust, and relationships he becomes almost blind in his rage to protect them. He was a fantastic part of this story.

I'm glad Avery made up her mind by the end of this novel. The big fight that happened was great but I wish Avery had had someone prep her in how her powers worked instead of going on instinct having everyone almost killed and then saving the day. The other princes had had strong and complex personalities. Their sassy comebacks and remarks were hilarious. Their comedic timing was on point in this story. So you could say I'm curious enough about the other princes to give the next book in this series a try!

My Favorite Quotes:

"Revenge isn't right, but it is sweet sometimes."

"Sometimes we just have to share the most painful things in our hearts with someone."

"We can't let a little pain stop us from doing what's right."

I felt like I was reading a stilted, stunted, skippy story. I felt like the relationship between the MC's was very forced. Sorry, but I wasn't feeling them at all.

I don't quite understand all the love for this book but hey, we all like different things.

Onto the next book on my TBR pile.

Good start, and I liked how uptight and naive the hero was about the human world, it was funny. BUT then the worst thing happens, when I thought this book was supposed to be about a hero who was supposed to be everything for the heroine, just wasn't.

The first time they almost have sex we find out the heroine is a virgin, and I was so pissed I almost DNFed right there. This heroine, who is supposed to be strong, independent, living on her own, not afraid to talk about sex, kickass, is a virgin. Now, I probably wouldn't have been as mad, but the hero's reaction pretty much tells you he is NOT a virgin. The awkward hero that doesn't even really like saying the word sex, who thinks sex is a big deal and is to show how much you love someone or show them your true self, who can easily bond with someone just from even kissing them (a bond that is VERY hard to break). A hero that even says he is constantly turning down women who isn't his "soul bond" or whatever because he is constantly having women throw themselves at him and he is uncomfortable when they even touch him. A hero who thinks his mate is everything. How tf is he not a virgin?! HOW?!

The whole book literally led you to believe he is one and nothing about the heroine being one and then this happens?! To be fair, it was never directly said anything about his actual sexual history, except insinuating the whole lead up to sex that he hasn't been with anyone, but with how experienced and confident he is in bed, being happy and very surprised because he was her first but not saying anything about her being his, knowing kinky fae sex stuff in bed, being more concerned about the heroine than himself when a fae was about to rape him, and saying fae can't pass diseases when discussing if he should wear a condom, all pretty much speaks for itself. This pissed me off so much tbh. Why do authors lead you to believe something else completely then change it like that when it literally makes no sense on how he has had sex before. So does that mean he is literally bonded to every woman he has ever done anything with?? And does that mean the heroine is gonna have to see the hero's bonds with other women?? Wtf??? Gross!

And not only that, but he is supposed to be this big bad fae, and yet he is so beta and weak and overly naive. The heroine gets captured, he goes to save her, instead he gets captured and almost gets raped in front of the heroine, and guess who is the one who ends up having to do the saving then? The heroine. Ugh.

Besides all that, the writing is stilted, too formal, and read like a a book for young teens except the sex parts. The characters and whole world are two dimensional too. Also, the heroine constantly calling all the antagonists "rapist" was so cringe. I'm only giving a 1.5 star because the first half of the book was decent, and I liked whenever the elf features came out, other than that, I think this book turned me off of anymore books from this author.

I don't understand why her awakening her powers needed to be done through sex, does he have a magic penis? I just dont understand what the point of the backstory is for if the majority of the story is taken up with resolving unnecessary and contrived conflicts between the two main characters (a bit of dialog goes a long way). Plus the main guy goes on and on about how strong he is only to get trussed up like a chicken so that she can save him and show how strong and independent she is... what is the point... can't we get stories where the two characters fight together... is this too hard to write... why do the characters always have to prove how strong they are? there are all different kinds of strength. Women can be strong independent characters without having to be standoffish, stubborn and imbued with freakish strength equaling or exceeding mens.

Lured and fooled by the pretty cover! I stopped reading this 88%. 88%!!

It is not all bad people but both characters are so stupid, I reached my limit. I am not going to rate it but I feel hugely disappointed because of the pretty cover.

Where are all these 5 star reviews coming from? I don't even understand.
Poorly written, confusing world, essentially no real world building or character archs.

What did I just read??
Fairies come to earth to look for their mates that they apparently know upon first sight. Evil fairies known as chaos are also here trying to kill said mates. Male lead sees female lead and it's insta love on his part and she sort of fights it? For like a couple days and then she admits she is in love too. She is also a fairy but can't unlock her powers unless she sleeps with him. So she does. Not kidding. She unlocks her powers and instantly knows how to use them. She was also a virgin. Apparently if you sleep with someone you create a permanent bond but for some reason he isn't a virgin? I don't even know. The epic fight the story was sort of leading up to but never really mentions happens and it's over in two seconds. She defeats the chaos lady with one hit and he defeats the dude in two. Super anti climactic. The whole chaos system makes no sense, sometimes it's just the evil realm and sometimes it's literally any bad feeling you have ever had. Apparently you can't ever be sad or angry or even have traumatic events happen in your life or you are corrupted by chaos. The whole system is utterly ridiculous and makes no sense. At some points they make it seem like every fairy born is a prince or princess and other times they make it seem like there are other people who aren't? It's super confusing. Apparently she's a princess but she never questions this. They refer to almost every girl as a princess which is nice and confusing. Would not recommend. At all. Even if you get it for free.
Also, the female baddie turned to chaos because the male lead turned her down one time. Ok.

I love Terry's work and have read every series that she has written The Fae have been creeping into her stories through the last few series First we met them in the blur during the Bad Dragon series Then in the final book in the Forgotten Dragon series we are introduced to four good fae sent to the human realm to fight the Chaos dragons already here. Those Dragons are Brent (Boreas) frost prince, Ian (Ivar) light prince, Flynn (Flint) fire fae and Tanner (Tynan) commander of darkness. This series is there stories and we start with Brent

Brent is a prince who is very black and white in his exalted positionin liofe there is only right or wrong and he has no barriers in stating his opinions Now he is on earth searching for a beacon (a Female Fae with latent powers) while all the Fae can feel these latent nagic it is the one who has a resonance with them and is there soul bond who will really feel it. Brent soon locks onto Avery he knows she is his soul bonded mate He knows that he has to keep her safe but with Avery determined to right evil an evil that affected her childhood he is going to find it very hard to keep her protected as she fights against the restrictions that he places upon her. When she finally comes into her magic a misunderstandings causes her to put herself in danger will Brett get to her in time to keep her alive and was it only really a trap for him.

Let me start by listing the un-believable things:
-I know this faeries are different, but when have you met a fae prince to be selfless, wants to protect others, kind? Well, the real stories that I have read about fae, are none of that.
-From the start you know what's going to happen. The heroine is a lost fae, the prince immediately felt their bond, now he needs to convince her, which is very normal acts that involve some sweetness, and the hard-ass heroine fall immediately for. Un-believable.
-What type of real fae, especially princes, use a wand? This is not a Disney story, with those type of fairy godmothers. It was a no, for me. Same thing with the wings.
-Why a fae blushes when they tall about doing the deed? These are ancients beings, correct? They know all about it.
-Honestly, it's just all so bizarre that it doesn't feel like it makes sense. I couldn't connect with the characters because everything seems very "I like her laugh" and she has never laughed with him, you know. Sucky book. Do not recommend. Proceed with caution.

These books keep getting better and better.. I love the way all the different series have been blended together.. I think by time it is finished it is going to be an epic ride that will not be easily forgotten.. Brett for all his cockiness really is a very sensitive and good prince.. I found this book very emotional on many levels and couldn't help but fall in love with the not so tough Avery and Brett... Look forward to seeing what happens when the other princes find their soul bonds..

This author never disappoints

I have read and enjoyed every series by this author. This book is no different. The characters are wonderful. The storyline is exciting and fast paced. And the romance is steamy. This is one more winner by Terry Bolryder.

The Magical Power of Love

I love fairies, so this book was enjoyable. Although the fairies and their world is different from others I've read. There was emotion, fun, humor, love and action with two strong, stubborn, independent protagonists and their friends and evil villains and again a final confrontation. They needed to learn to trust and accept each other and their true forms and let love conquer evil and chaos. This book takes place in the same world as the author's dragon books but with new fae and chaos world and new characters. Recommended to the lovers of paranormal romance.

I’m going to mark this at DNF at 50% even though I skipped to see how it ended. This one has good reviews, I just couldn’t get into it. The plot was pretty boring; the couples “soul connection” is pretty much the entire plot and they don’t “hook up” until 70% in. The MC’s pout a lot , and I can’t deal with that for too long.

I like this writer but this book was not good. I struggled to make it to50% before just giving up. Very generic storyline. Characters were poorly developed. Needless to say I won't continue this series. I'll likely try her other series just not this one.

I really liked the beginning. I found Brett to be really funny. I kind of just lost interest at about 65% or so. Not really sure why, I can't put my finger on it but will definitely come back to try more of her books in the future.

The author created a strange twist to what is typical for fae paranormals. There's a strong theme of good versus evil in this book. Good fae are princes that fight against bad "chaos". There is none of the fae mischievousness or bargaining characteristics I'm used to.

Instead, in this reality, the fae use wands to fight. Power and strength can be gained through forming different kinds of bonds or relationships with others. There is a true mate scenario and here is where it gets worse.... The males are the ones who are overwhelmingly attractive and the females get aggressive with lust. But the males are extra choosy. because bonds are hard to break and they all want their soul mate. It is all beyond cheesy.

Loved the first book in Terry's new series. The Fae Princes are out in the world. Renting an apartment to be close to a woman they refer to as a "beacon," which apparently means she is a beacon for the chaos princes. Brett (Boreas) sees her first and immediately feels his magic resonant with hers and realizes she is his soul bond. It almost knocks him off his feet. But just because he feels it doesn't mean she does. Avery has not had an easy life. The only saving grace is her unusual strength which she uses when she roams the streets at night looking for those who deserve her wrath. She is not sure what to make of the four "hotties" who have moved into the apartment under hers, but she doesn't have time to make nice with them, or does she?

Find out how the prince of frost goes about winning over his soul bond mate. Unlike the Fae Princesses of his world, she is not falling all over herself to touch and kiss him. Of course the suppression bracelets he wears tone down his appeal greatly, apparently even to his soul bond. He will just have to show her that she needs to let someone into the lonely life she has chosen. But as all love stories go, she will teach him just as much about himself as he will teach her.

Icy hot

Avery is a great heroine, a female superhero vigilante.
Brett an elite Frosty Prince that starts to see the world without his rosy colored glasses.
Loved how the other Princes got through him to see what he was missing.
This was the first book I read by the author, it was a recommendation on my kindle list. Glad I downloaded and read it.
Will definitely be read others.

Good for a Short Story

This book was good for what it was, a short story that skims the surface. I liked the characters and the fae aspects. I also enjoyed that the FMC was a vigilante which is something I am often drawn to. Unfortunately, because the story was so short nothing was detailed enough and everything happened way too fast. Due to those factors, I didn't connect and had trouble staying focused. I have heard of this author for a long time and would like to try one of her longer books.

While not one of the best books, it's not one of the worst either. It's just blah. I like the idea of the fae.

Ok

The story moved way too fast and the author used all the typical romance catch-phrases. I enjoyed the idea of the world the author was trying to create, but this novel didn’t really demonstrate all that it promised. Not once did the characters even visit their home world, the closest they came was a mansion that was owned by someone else and it’s whereabouts were not really explained. Just when the heroine acquired her power, she wielded it like a master with years of experience and conquered the bad girl. The bad girl says “No! It’s not possible!” But that phrase isn’t explained at all. Why isn’t it possible! What is actually happening that isn’t possible? It’s a supernatural story, but the quirks of this made-up world aren’t explained by the author. The story reads more like a first draft, not a final ready for publication. It has potential though, the idea of this “fae” world sounds interesting, we just need more details.

In Forgotten Dragon, we are Introduced to 4 fae princes that are coming to earth to find, and protect, beacons. These beacons are humans with latent fae magic in them. This is the first of 4 stories about these fae princes/warriors.

While a formidable warrior in the Ice fae kingdom, Boreas (aka Brett) has such a childlike innocence about humans, and human relationships that I felt Avery’s sadness at having to explain some of the more sordid details about life here, such as domestic violence. His philosophical discussions of relationships (referred to as bonds in their fae world) was so interesting I could definitely see it as a discussion in a philosophy class.

As always, the conflict here is when darkness, or chaos, creeps in and creates turmoil and dangerous situations for the main characters. The book read at a good pace and held my interest.

Loved it!
I could not put this book down. We got hints about the fae in the previous series and this new series does not disappoint! I really enjoyed learning about these new characters - their abilities, their world, the different kinds of fae. Boreas/Brett is a bit of a stuffed shirt at the start, but Avery soon has him changing for the better. I liked the interaction between the four princes and how they learn to work as a team. There is plenty of romance and action and a bit of mystery to keep the pages turning. I am anxiously awaiting the next book. I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary review.

Didn't like that book, skimmed a lot. Hero was... beta male? He was supposed to be alpha, but his actions, emotions.. kinda childish, immature and heroine ended up saving his ass, when he got captured and almost raped (??!?!?) so easily. Did not like also, how cold and unfeeling heroine was with him at the start (1/3 of the book)

Boreas

I like that we've moved on to the Fae guys. They weren't quite as much fun or charming as they were in Chad's book. Plus Boreas's misunderstood attitude went on for a long time. I could see the twists coming but it was still a good read. I look forward to the other guys stories.
