My name is Charlie, everyone has a story, and this is mine...
That's how the book Last Best Hope, by author T.C.Butts, introduces Charlie Quinn, happy at last living in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, finally at home in her cabin surrounded by nature's beauty. From her isolated life, she makes her living writing a highly successful vampire romance series, where she proclaims, "So I didn't create timeless canons of literature...I created moments of escapist enjoyment, and in the lives we often trap ourselves, it was as important as any Shakespeare sonnet or Tennyson poem." When fireballs rain down on Denver one early spring night, the world is changed forever.
Author T.C.Butts has brought Charlie Quinn's vampire romance series to life, which has grown deeper and richer with each new volume. It has been a labor of love!
C L Quinn is one of my favorite writers. She writes so many genres so well. Her The First series is one of the best Paranormal series. Book 22 holds up and keeps you wanting to continue reading and catching up with the characters that you have learned to love. She also has a wide diversity of characters. Something that most Paranormal writers for some reason don't do. I highly recommend this series and this Author
Enjoyed this, but the repetitive nature of Sophia's self-deprecation was annoying. Had it been explained as a refrain from her past (such as from her mother or an ex), perhaps it would have seemed more natural. The way she used nearly identical words each time was way too contrived in my opinion and frustrating, pulling me out of the story each time. Other than that--omgoodness I loved this book! Kwano is just too awesome!
With each new book, I fall more in love with the firsts. I love that characters from books past still appear, and we get to see the family/friends growing, instead of being forgotten.
I love this serie. I can't get enough. Book 22 in the firsts series and I never have gotten bored or tired of any of them. I can't read them fast enough.
