I am an author of three novels- 🔖If We Last 👉 Best Seller in Thriller Fiction 🔖Till We Last 👉 Sequel to 'If We Last' 🔖The City Of Tunes 👉 A separate novel and just released!
When you fall in love, you need to be caught by that person, before you hit the ground of harsh reality. But when you experience love, you live in the essence of it, without any expectation and without the fear of falling."- Ishita Banik. This book,if we last ,is part one of the light year trilogy and is a mix of two genres - love and mystery .This story revolves around two protagonists Avipsa and Reyansh. Avipsa is the beautiful and charming lead character , a budding engineer, with her eyes full of dreams. She meets Reyansh who is going through his post breakup trauma. She tries her best to bring him out of this phase and falls in love with him in the process. The story takes a turn when we find someone stalking avipsa. Who is the stalker? Why is he stalking? Is it related to her past? Well, we don't know any of this and could possibly find it only by reading its second part. The book is appealing and is weaved around beautifully with some meticulous use of words to portray the conflicts and fears in the character's mind perfectly.Ishita Banik tries her best to build the story block by block without revealing much in one go which helps to keep her readers hooked. The characters are Also well built. Also, this book is full of good quotes which the readers might enjoy while reading. I would like to put one such quote here- " 'Time’ never fails to be unfair to us. It crawls when we need it to pass as soon as possible and it flies when we plead for one second more. " Every young adult can relate to one or the other character from the story-Avipsa, Nidhi(Avipsa's best friend who is always concerned about her and is ready with her useful advices), Mahika( Reyansh's ex who is still in love with him but had to part ways due to certain reasons) or Reyansh. I didn't really get the essence of the title and it's significance.ItI just could not be justified after reading the book. Also, the book has some grammatical errors and is a bit slow. But despite these things ,this book held my interest intact and I would surely like to read the second part of it just because I want to know what happens next. Rating :3.5/5
Book- If We Last Author- Ishita Banik Rating-3.8 . . If We Last is a story about Avipsa and Reyansh. Avipsa is a college student. She is charming and beautiful. Reyansh is an engineer whose life is totally messed up. He is in that post break-up phase. Both belong from different cities but their paths are just about to cross. A new journey is waiting for them. Everything was quite normal when series of event starts taking place which makes this story a thriller romantic novel.
I haven't read any work of Ishita Banik and this makes my first read. The book is written in simple language, bit slow paced but last few pages are gripping. It kept me hooked but then the book ended. I really want to read the sequel of this book. Thrill in this book is of a different kind, i am thinking what will be in the sequel. I am dying to know what's next.
This is story of Avipsa and Reyansh and ther lives. Hailing from the city of joy Avipsa is a twenty-year-old college student. Reyansh is an engineer staying in Mumbai, whose life is drowned in the darkness. Their paths are just about to cross. A new journey is waiting for him. Avipsa's life is going to take some drastic turn. Some discrete incidents...Condensing Fear....Chasing Dreams...Footsteps of The Bygone... What's waiting for them ? The story is really gripping and engaging. The narration is good and keep us hooked till end. The suspense is really thrilling. Couldn't wait to read next part.
The plot opens like this-- Avipsa is a budding engineer from Calcutta, a very capable and hardworking girl who is trying out campus placements to land up in her dream job. Meanwhile, on the other side of the country in Mumbai, Reyansh is having a hard time bouncing back from the break-up with his previous partner, Mahika. On one side, Avipsa is bright, optimistic and eager to step into the professional world, but on contrary, Reyansh is plunged into heavy depression, melancholy and has nothing to look forward too. Their paths cross when Avipsa attends a family function in Mumbai. Although Reyansh vouches that only Mahika has his heart, he becomes quite fond of Avipsa once they meet and Avipsa reciprocates that feeling. A beautiful bond develops between the two. While Reyansh needs the girl to show him light and haul him up from the darkness he had been living in, Avipsa is delighted to get Reyansh as an understanding and lovable companion. More feelings emerge between the two but some of them are only one sided. They continue to develop a healthy friendship until both of them progress in their career. But when Avipsa shifts to Bangalore for her job, she entangles her life with an unknown stalker who somehow continuously manages to infiltrate into her personal life and affect her mental health. She tries hard to catch hold of the person but with bare minimum success. With Reyansh’s help, will she be able to sort out her life?
REVIEW:
Title: ✰✰✰(3/10) I couldn’t figure out what the title had to do with the story. One implication that I could fathom was maybe ‘if we last’ is talking about existential crises, and is harping on the fundamental basis of lifeline. But even after this, it still remains extremely vague. Even the name of the series is odd and unrelated at least to the first book in this series. Coming across the term ‘light-year’, the first thing that comes to my mind is fantasy. But the book is of romance genre with specks of horror/thrill and I don’t think is resonates with these feelings.
The author has desperately tried to make the title catchy and striking. The basic purpose of a title to any piece of literature is to cover the whole thing under its aegis and thereby giving a broad overview to the write-up. Sorry to say, this title didn’t do any justice to the story whatsoever.
Writing style: ✰✰✰✰✰✰✰(7/10) Although this author is new to the industry, her writing style isn’t all bland. She has taken considerable amount of time to put up the plot brick by brick. The descriptive and elaborative elements to the story are well structured with a meticulous choice of words. Since the book deals with young, vulnerable people, the author has been keen enough to portray their emotional conflicts and consciences in detail. But she went overboard at times-- with flowery words and unnecessary complications to put up something simple. The author has also added analytical and philosophical aspects to the story while explaining how her characters were feeling, making certain portions of the story very quotable. In all, the writing style was fresh and engaging, but wasn’t consolidated enough throughout and lacked consistency.
Plot and characterisation: ✰✰✰✰✰(5/10) Coming straight to point, there was nothing very genuine or engaging about the plot. The entire story (excluding the stalker and hallucinations part) can be summed as: a bright young girl falling in love with a depressed guy and saving him from the dread. The plotline was quite linear and uneventful. The book screams to be a thriller, but the thrill element only starts to happen in the last few pages of the book. To be honest, the story should have had more substance to it. The book ended too quickly, with hardly any plot advancement in the thrill aspect. There ought to be a million questions in the mind of the reader by the time the book winded up, but none of it was actually answered. The first book in a series (in my humble experience) starts off the plot and lets the sub-plots run haywire and although it slowly approaches towards the mega climax, it doesn’t save all explanations and tying up of loose ends for the last book of the series. But this book seemed like an introduction, with no standalone capability. If someone takes up the book by itself, he/she won’t be satisfied at all. The books of a series almost always push the reader to the next book and holds his interest intact, but it does it in a way that the book by itself has substance and is capable of making a place in the reader’s heart. Sadly, this book didn’t do that for me. The pace of the plot was very slow, and the chapters flooded with repetitive things. The plotline was extremely flat and buoyed only by the complex feelings of the protagonists. As mentioned before, the character development was great and their insecurities were highlighted well. The emotions felt by them wasn’t absurd and sudden, but it slowly came up as one line of thought led to another. One of the major plus points about the book was the depiction of character psychology and very vivid imageries to support the same. Having said that, the characters were not extremely original or striking. There was nothing very special that I got from the characters, and so probably they weren’t very unique and real to me. Also, the daily life hardships of the characters have been very blandly omitted. It seemed everything was happening in a very perfect world, where none of the characters were in the middle of any material crisis in their independent lifestyle. There were emotional crises obviously, but since the story is set in modern India in metropolitan city locations, I longed for some urban details all throughout. Life in cities is not as sugar coated and smooth as depicted in the story—and they are a part of our lives, as much our mind and emotions are. So, the writer should have added some surrounding details to hold the plot up.
My opinions: To sum up, the book could have been much better if the author had put effort to develop the plot in a panoramic way, rather than only talking about feelings and emotions alone. We needed more insight into the lives of the protagonists, to understand the roots of their dilemmas and trace our way back to where it all started for them. The author couldn’t connect the various elements of the story together in a wholesome way and so it did not have that engrossing factor.
Even with all this, the author has done a great job to give her best to write what she had in her heart, and I respect that. I hope the next books in the series turn out to be exceedingly interesting and that I can finish the trilogy with bated breath and absolute awe.
"If We Last" is a story by Ishita Banik which is an amalgamation of two themes i.e. of romance and thriller. It is an amazing combination. The storyline goes as follows. In the beginning we are introduced to some characters. Avipsa is a college girl full of ambitions who let anything come in her way to achieve her dreams. She ia also full of adventure which is something we learn from her expeditions of skydiving. On the other hand, there is Reyansh, an engineer, who is currently facing an agony resulting from a breakup. He is full of guilt and heartbreak and wants to get back with Mahika, his ex- girlfriend, but could not as his own wrong doing resulted in the breakup. We also get to know that although Mahika is very very upset with him was unable to unlove him. Author's way of expressing every pain they both were enduring, can be felt by the readers explicitly in depth which can be quite relatable. . Further in the story, Avipsa on her trip to her cousin's house gets to meet Reyansh. In the first meeting only, they felt something for each other which only elevated in further meetings. For Reyansh, these meetings were his escape from anguish and suffering whereas Avipsa got a genuine liking for him. Well this was the romance part of this book. For the thriller part, we know that Avipsa had a stalker, who was not revealed in this part of the book making it curious for the readers to read the next part of the series. In this part, we get to know that Avipsa was having stranger encounters which first seemed like hallucinations but when it started happening repeatedly, she became sure of it and discussed with her friend who was still opinioned otherwise. . The writing style is very comprehensible but the story could have been presented is a much better manner. Some descriptions in the story was repetitive which could have been eliminated. And even some parts was easy to skip without having any issue of leaving out any part of the actual story.
The story is about Reyansh and Avipsa. Reyansh who is an engineer staying in Mumbai alone. His life drowned in darkness so that he become lifeless from inside and outside. He left things he used to love to do. He became so depressed that he has forgotten his dream, passion and goals. He hurts himself so he would be able to forget the pain with in him. Where as Avipsa is from City Of Joy "KOLKATA". She is 20 yrs old and a engineering student. She is in her last year of college. She is a very pampered kid at home. She lives each and every moment of her life. She is very close to her family, friends and relatives.
Being too different and living in two different worlds still destiny plays its role. Reyansh and Avipsa meets each other and there comes many changes in their lives and which adds a lot of drama in the story.
The story has an Unknown Stalker who creates a lot of troubles in Avipsa's life. She experiences things that we would not expect to even imagine in our lifes. She share this whole situation with her best friend. But her friend ask Avipsa to check with some doctor that left her in shock.
The story is written in simple language. No one has to take help of dictionary. Most of the time, story runs in a good speed but at few points a thought it become slow. If any one wants to read a combo of romantic story with supense and thrill then read this book. Hope you will not get disappointed.
There are many quotes used in story. I loved the most :: Time never fails to unfair to us. It crawls when we need it to pass as soon as possible and it flies when we plead for one second more..

• Summary-: This book is the prequel of 'Till we last'. The story revolves around two protagonists, Avispa and Reyansh. Apart from them, Preeti, Hansh, Mrs Roy, Mahika are also a part of the story. Avispa, in her last year of college is a very ambitious person. She has been through a dark phase in her life, but now she is very positive and enthusiastic towards her life. Reyansh on the other side is in his post break up phase, and on the verge of depression after breaking up with the love of his life, Mahika. Soon after Avispa and Reyansh meet, she falls in love with him, and for Reyansh she fills the gaps in his life. Throughout the story, something and someone is bothering Avispa. Who is the stalker? And what is his/her intention?
• Review-: The language used throughout the book is very simple. For me, being an avid reader, the story was quite predictable, but every chapter leaves you with a suspense and the urge to read the next one. Vocabulary of the book is excellent. The emotions and thoughts of the characters have been described precisely by the author. There are several relatable situations in the book, which help us deeply connect to the story. Summing up it's a short read. Will surely recommend this one to beginners.
"Sometimes we are compelled to end a relationship, not because of it is toxic, but the closeness becomes more painful than the distance." Hear touching line, this book is so emotional to tug at all the strings of your heart while triggering your mind with the curiosity. Not a simple romance novel it is.The arc of the plot is more like a mystery with a gripping storytelling. The usage of words and the way of describing is way too good. Finally got another Indian author to start with this genre.Waiting for more!
If We Last - The name seemed to be a romance novel but the cover made me buy and read the book .I went through the amazon reviews,as the author is new and finally set up my mind to read it! The story of Reyansh and Avipsa, beautiful names and beautiful story. I cannot forget Avipsa, the way she thinks and dreams in her life. The book is full of suspense and I am eager to know more. The way of describing scenarios is too good.An overall fantastic read..no words..
Suspenseful and amazing story! Played with the mind well and kept me guessing! This is the first novel of the series and I have finished reading both. The story is unexpected and very fresh to start with, the description is too good to say, a few places described a bit more I felt. But that helped in imagining the whole story like a movie. Character developments , story , plot all are so good . The best romance and thriller novel I have read by an Indian author so far 5/5

I could see the incidents happening in front of me...I could feel the joy and sorrow of the characters. The author played with words in a great way to keep the readers hooked! It is worth the time and money and also the cover is attractive to pick it up!,👏
The first book of 2020 I read and It was tough to believe that debut novel!A very good thriller and romance novel. Not a cheesy unrealistic love story but a great plot of unfolding mysteries.Getting the next book asap! ❣️
This book will increase your curiosity level and will then surprise you with the twist. Definitely one of the most uncommon plots and the suspense is built so nicely that it is impossible to put down once you start reading. Waiting for more work from the author.👍
If We Last is an extremely emotional and suspenseful story I read recently. The cover is amazing and so the story is.The characters are realistic and the plot is with a lot of twists and turned.Finished in a single day and never got bored for a second! Looking for more work from the author.
It's a mystery basically. The protagonist here is Avipsa a young, cheerful and independent girl. She completes her studies and started working along with blogging. She met Reyansh at her cousin place and started falling for him from the very beginning. Reyansh is an engineer by profession, dealing with heart breaks. He is totally depressed and messed up in his life, but after meeting with Avipsa he smiles now a lot. He finds happiness in her. Their buddy relationship grows very quickly and in the meantime there are certain events happened with Avipsa which is scary and horrifying. She couldn't find out the unusual happenings around her and which led her doubting her own self.
It's a beautiful book to read, where they are very good moments to cherish there are also moments to feel depressed too. But the discrete incidents happening to Avipsa is what will keep you hooked on the Story. It's the 1st part of the story, I will definitely love to read the second one to unfold the mystery. The language is easy for beginners too. The cover couldn't have been better. The title seems good enough with the theme of the story. There could have been added few more elements, rather then descriptions of places. Otherwise a light and fresh read, recommending.
A eye catching good story with a mix of both suspense and romance. With the use of some beautiful psycological and visualistic technique of narration.Elaborately describes the toubled minds and disturbed hearts of the protagonists. Though a little slow-paced but still worth giving a read.A wrentching climax that gives a certain thrill feeling. This story digs deep into the mind and hearts of the protagonists and even there are some useage of mind-blowing beautiful quotes.❤️ This is the first installment of the light year trilogy. This story is about Avipsa and Reyansh. Avipsa a budding engineer ,a optimastic and cheerful girl whereas Reyansh is a depressed soul who is yet to get over his breakup with Mahika. Their path crossed and soon they develops a beautiful bond of friendship.Avipsa was like a ray of hope in Reyansh 's life that was full with darkness. But soon Avipsa land into a trouble and from here the real thrills and mystery starts. You would enjoy reading this book.❤️
Book Review - “If we Last.. After crossing a light year”
▪️Genre: Fiction (Romantic-Thriller)
▪️Run-through:
To give you a panormic view of the apologue, the book orbits around two predominant character appearances: Reyansh and Avipsa. Reyansh is an Engineer from Mumbai whereas Avipsa is an 22-year old college student from Kolkata, who in the later part gets a job posting in Bangalore. Both have their distinctive secluded lives, until one day, when Avipsa visits Mumbai for a family gathering and their paths cross into each other.
▪️Protagonists:
1. Reyansh: He is a pessimistic and low-spirited adolescent soul, who is on a downer from the afflictions of life. Its back-breaking for him to recuperate from the heartsickness of his former time girlfriend ‘Mahika’, which takes him down in the dumps.
2. Avipsa: She is an affirmative and self-reliant career woman, who has an out-and-out charisma. She tries to show Reyansh ropes to withdraw him out of his cloudiness of confinement, since he is having a hard time bouncing back from his lost love ‘Mahika’. Although, her life is entwined herself with the omnipresence of an unexplored stalker, which puts her in a dilemma to question her own mental health.
◾️About the Author:
Although the writer is distinct to the writing industry as it is her debut novel, her writing doesn’t seem to be waterish. The potraying of characters, maneuvering of scenario, creation of visions through choice of words and elements of story are momentous.
▪️Remonstration:
The title of the book seems to have been made prepensely fetching by the author. Although, it does not lay in on the line of the story for me. The book ends midway, as there is also a sequel to the book. If a reader picks up this book alone, his mind would be tied up with loose ends to some of the questions that went vaguely answered even till the end. The writer went overboard with some redundant nitpickking elements, that could have been sidestepped. She should have subsumed to the penetration of the rootcause of the status of Avipsa’s mental health, to connect the dots of the story in an edifying way. The pace of the first few compositions of chapters lay down flaps, which were flooded with repetition and made the novel elongated as well. However, the second half holds the reader all ears.
▪️Critique:
The enchanting narrative unfolds hair-raising mystery, making it a perfect page turner. I could sense the occurences happening live like a movie, through the writer’s illustrations. The book deals with the unspeakable social taboo of mental health, which is an audacious attempt by the author. No elements of adultery whatsoever. The ending was unanticipated as it leaves the readers on cliffhanger, wanting for more. To sum up, this one is a spellbinding book, alluring the reader’s mind with goofiness, making them wrapped up in the storytelling. It fathoms your brain with twists and rejoices the strands of your heart, making the book unputdownable.
Title- -“If We Last: After Crossing a Light-Year" Author- Ishita Banik This Book Deserves- 5 Stars Genre- Romantic + Thriller.(Little Horror too) ✏PLOT- Main characters - Mahika ,Avipsa and Reyansh, handling their past relationships but in different locations.. Avipsa working fine with her life but Reyansh and Mahika seems lost and grief-stricken.This we usually saw with almost all youngsters and even sometimes with ourselves too.In this book everyone is dealing with their heartbreak differently. Reyansh and Avipsa became good friends and the main story begins. . But just when everything is normal, something fishy started happening and this simple emotional and romantic story took an adventurous turn when Avipsa has a stalker. This point made me much more curious about reading it further. There are multiple thoughts in my mind after. Is it her Ex ? any psycho lover ? .But if it’s someone who loves her then why is he hurting her every night ? So many questions at this point.. ✏WHAT I FEEL ABOUT THIS? If We last For the Sequel of this book-I am gonna be the first one to read it.. I am a person who reads only few and selective books and it’s one of them. We say- don’t judge a book by it’s cover, but I judged this book by the attractive title and the eye catching picture of an eye on it.. And I was right,it’s an amazing book by a wonderful person- Ishita Banik, her brilliance shines in unexpected ways with this masterpiece. . It’s a 126 pages book with fusion of Love and Thrill .The language is very smooth and it makes you easily connect with the storyline and keep you hooked Perfect combination of emotions faced by people are clearly visible in this book..
The things they deal during any relationship ,the hunger for love and ways to overcome heartbreaks.. The word I can use best here is turbulence of Relationships-which are shown perfectly in it.
This book is just beyond perfect for those who loves romance but want thriller as well… Author leaves us anxious for the Sequel of the book.I am restless for the next part. ✏FAVOURITE LINE- ‘Time’ never fails to be unfair to us. If we last : After Crossing a light - Year by Ishita Banik is an extremely captivating story . This book is a combination of romance 😍 and thiller😳. The story revolves aeound three people - Mahika, Reyansh and Avispa but the leading character of the story are Reyansh and Avispa.❣️ ❣️Avispa is a young girl who's a collage student . Her mother encourages her to apply for some job but she is trying to avoid that thing for time being. She is a beautiful girl. She is a very pampered kid at home but not a spoiled child. She is celebrating every moment her life (This is like me) . But this phase of happiness isn't everlasting for sure.
❣️Reyansh is an engineer who is going through with lots of love pain . He is unable to hold himself after his girlfriend Mahika left him due to some misunderstanding . He is unable to move on and he starts hurting himself. So he would be able to forget the pain . The pain that is endless for him.
The story is about two people with different background meeting eachother in an environment which might be normal for everyone but it's not normal for them at least while they continue to come closer to each other. Many things happen which are expected to add more drama in their lives. They grow their bond slowly but surely. While Reyansh is finding a reason to be at peace and to be loved again , Avipsa finds him a genuine guy who she has started to like specially his innocent eyes.❤
The language is simple and beautifully run at a good pace.
At the end of the story I came to know that this is not the only book in this series but the story will continue in the next book as well so I am waiting to read that as well.
My favourite quotes from the book : * 💓' Time' never fails to be unfair to us. It crawls when we need it to pass as soon as possible and it flies when we plead for one second more....
* 💓There are some persons in our life , whom we can't fall in love with , no matter how good they are for us. We just don't fall for them . Just like we are not meant to get over some person, ever.
* 💓There is a difference between falling in love and experiencing love. When you fall in love , you need to be caught by that person before you hit the ground of harsh reality. But when you experience love , you live in the essence of ot , without any expectation and without the fear of falling.
The best part of the book which I like the most is Suspense for that I am so excited to read the next series. 🥰
Presented as a romance / thriller fiction novel, If We Last: After Crossing a Light-Year is a story about a few upper-middle-class, good-looking twenty-year-olds set in the present day in various Indian cities.
Avipsa is a single and beautiful girl living in Kolkata (formerly known as Calcutta) who makes plans after college and wants to get placed in a good company. On a trip to Mumbai she meets Reyansh, a young engineer whose girlfriend has just left him. Reyansh can't stand loneliness, he blames himself for his behavior and drinks to try to forget. As regards Avipsa's past life, we only know that there was something horrible that she managed to overcome. However, a series of incidents, such as emails and calls that she starts receiving from an unknown number, threaten to destabilize her again. The story of Avipsa and Reyansh is intertwined with those of supporting characters who are too looking for happiness and love, and trying to get over heartbreak.
This novel can meet the expectations of romance book lovers. The strange incidents that happen to Avipsa are an attempt to introduce thriller elements into the plot, but I wouldn't say this is a thriller fiction book at all. It gains fluidity and freshness when talking about feelings, with just a poetic hint. In fact, this style is close to the protagonists and easily takes readers to their way of seeing things; to those “young souls of dreams, joy, sorrow, confusion, hope and life”. In short chapters, the author switches between characters and tells the story from their different points of view. The writing is easy, but it could be more concise, and the mentioned qualities don't spare the novel from being repetitive and naive.
The main problem is that the book hasn't been edited. Although the spelling is correct, there are several grammar mistakes and countless typos. Thus the whole thing gives a poor impression. There are many copyeditors out there who can solve this issue in a new edition of the book - it's that easy. And this reminds me of a necessary spoiler: we only get to know a part of the story, as it is “to be continued”. Will we know in part two why If We Last has the bombastic subtitle After Crossing a Light-Year? Let's hope that the follow up will be at least a well cared edition. The author, Ishita Banik, has good qualities, and deserves this new chance.
This book’s plot has the story narrated from three character’s perspective. Reyansh, Mahika and Avipsa. Reyansh, an Engineer from Mumbai whereas Avipsa, a college student from Kolkata, unfortunately, Mahika’s introduction isn’t clearly mentioned. When Avipsa visits Mumbai for a family get-together, there she meets with Reyansh. Although Reyansh vouches that Mahika was the ‘one’ nonetheless he becomes fond of Avipsa after their meeting. The plot foresees as Reyansh needs Avipsa to show him the path towards a light to overcome the darkness that he had been living with after his heart broke. Both of them continue to develop a meaningful bond until both of them progress further professionally with Avipsa getting a job in Bangalore and Reyansh still in Mumbai.
Avipsa’s life gets entangled with an unknown stalker as soon as she moves to Bangalore for work, this person somehow manages to mess with her personal life ultimately affecting her mental health. She tries by doing various things to get a hold of the person but no success. Will Reyansh aid her in this? Will she be able to sort out this mess?
The title of the book doesn’t justify the storyline. I was surprised to see how a title with words like ‘Light Year’ wouldn’t be about science or fantasy fiction. When a plot is written keeping three characters in mind, readers like me would expect to see that character in the whole storyline and not altogether vanish abruptly. In my opinion, the entire story goes haywire all throughout its pages. The author has tried to use good vocabulary which I thought was unnecessary and wasn’t demanded to keep the narrative in mind.
Ishita Banik, the author has attempted to entwine romance with a thriller storyline which is appreciated, however, the particular thing that irked me the entire time while reading this book is the bad proofreading and editing job done. The tense formation of the sentences is so poor which alters the meaning of her emotions which she wanted to portray through the characters. Her narration was confusing and the climax will make you feel incomplete and dumbfounded. I would strongly recommend a superb constructive editing job undertaken on the storyline and then re-publish the book to captivate more readers.
IF WE LAST Author: Ishita Banik Publisher: Educreation Publishing Genre: Fiction. 🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸 #QOTD : Did you ever read any romantic thriller novel? ▪️🔸▪️🔸▪️🔸 Now talking about the book, this book inscribes a thrilling love story of Reyansh and Avipsa, a 20years old college student who has recently finished her college and was appearing for campus placement while Reyansh tries to overcome his depression of breaking up with his girlfriend Mahika. Their paths were just about to cross and a new journey was about to start when Avipsa's life took some drastic turn where some discrete incidents occurred. She felt like someone was stalking her. Who was that stalker? What was waiting for them? Or for everyone? Love? Hope? Or, something else? Read this page turner to explore more. 🔻🔻🔻🔻🔻🔻🔻🔻🔻🔻🔻🔻🔻 The story was initially slow paced but reading further, it turned out to be a short thriller with all the well-developed characters. The storyline was quite interesting. ▪️ Furthermore ,the scary and thrilling incidents that happened with Avipsa will definitely keep the readers hooked to the book till end. On contrary, I felt the plot was little bit dragged as the initial chapters expounds too much about the characters which made the book lengthy. ▪️ It's not only a book but a rollar- coaster ride of joy, sadness, surprises, heartbreaks, self-discovery, suspense & love. ▪️ The title was bit confusing for me as I didn’t find it completely apt to the storyline. I also felt the cover of the book has little room for development. ▪️ The ending was abrupt and the author leaves her readers on cliffhanger. ▪️ Favourite quote: “We love to illustrate ‘love’ as unconditional in our speculation. Because that’s what we need at the end of the day-being and feeling loved despite of all our flaws”. ▪️ As a debut author, @ishita__banik did a good job but again there were rooms for improvement. The language was lucid but there were grammatical errors here and there. So overall, i feel it was okayish read. ▪️ Thank you @sleep_snatching_tales for providing me this book as a review copy in exchange of my honest opinion. 🔺🔺🔺🔺🔺🔺🔺🔺🔺🔺🔺🔺🔺
📑IF WE LAST by Ishita Banik ... 💑 ...#love ... Love ...It is the eternal thing which makes every little creature in this world to revolve around it with lots of hope..It really makes one's life either beautiful or shattered .There are many books and much more writings on this topic which leaves the readers to make an impact on them by leaving them either gloomy or with a warmth ... And this story with it's touch of both suspense and romance makes the readers so engulfing to be the part of it.The story really dominates on its romantic part rather than suspense.. ... 👉The pain of losing true love and the warmth of having beloved ones again in life after a heart break , the guilty of deceiving somebody particularly who has lot of trust on love , knowing the value of true love when it was taken back already ... All these are the main themes of this book .. ... Reyansh, a lost soul desperately seeking for a ray of hope in his life when his loved one departs from his life and he sees his settled heart when he meets 'Avipsa' for the first time .On other side 'Avipsa' is a normal college going girl who has many dreams to achieve in her future but finds some sensitive corner about Reyansh when they both meet like strangers .. ... Here the author had done a great job by carving the depth of these two characters so truly and beautifully by sticking on to their originalities and they both seems to be well matured in their thoughts and actions...There is no traces of vulgarity in the romance and what I could feel here is only the depth of true love .. ... Where as for the thriller side the plot has an unknown stalker who has been stalking Avipsa and the intentions of this stalker were unclear in the plot which makes the reader to look forward for its next part of this book. ... The story is extremely unputdownable and it just sweeps away our mind into it so deeply .... ... I really enjoyed the story alot and Reyansh will be my favourite character in this story.. ... I would strongly recommend this book to those who love to read love stories and I am eagerly looking forward for it's next part... ... My Rating ...⭐⭐⭐⭐🌠
The book, " If we last after crossing a light year", by Ishita Banik is a fictional thriller that encompasses Avipsa, a twenty-year-old college student and Reyansh, an engineer from Mumbai. This is a tale of survival of love and life taking in it's embrace the city of joy and city of dreams. With every chapter, a new mystery unfolds giving us access to a new character. The way the writer depicts the dark life of Reyansh and his battle with depression is tremendous but the way she depicts Avipsa's innocence, her moonlit smile, and her way of thinking is something to die for. The story is mainly about a love connection between the lead characters, where our male lead Reyansh has suffered a heartbreak, the reason her girlfriend knows is a lie but the book will keep you looking for the truth until it's the last page and on the other hand the loving Avipsa, who has an unknown past. Amongst these, the author beautifully carves out certain characters and has a lesson with it. Priti, Avipa's best friend. Well, the lesson which I got from it was if we really want something by heart, the universe will definitely present you that. Hansh, her close friend, taught me that it doesn't matter whether you have loved one in your life or not, it just feels good when you see them smiling. Now if you are contemplating reading this book and let me tell you, the writer creates magic when she presents in front of your eyes, the quotes to relate to. My personal favorite is " When we love a person our heart keeps finding excuses knowingly or unknowingly just to spend some more time with that person". And yes the book is slow, but if you ask for my personal perspective, then I would say the author poured in minor details of every place, which made me feel my presence in the book. Like when she described Mysore palace, I could vision myself walking in there intoxicated by the beautiful paintings. This book is a must-read. If you want to know Avipsa more and the eerie happenings with her, and also is Reyansh really the person he shows, take a dive into the book. Happy reading!

This is Ishita Banik’s first novel. The story revolves around two characters, Avipsa, who is a budding Engineer from Kolkata and Reyansh, who works as a Software Engineer in Mumbai. They happen to meet each other for the first time when Avipsa visits Mumbai for a family get-together.
The story progresses as Avipsa travels to Bangalore, where she is going for Skydiving. Coincidentally, Reyansh is also there. Here they get to know each other better as they visit the Mysore palace together. She comes to know about his lost love in Mahika, making him sad and sombre all the time. But, Avipsa comes in his life as a breath of fresh air, and he loves this change in his life.
With time, their bond strengthens, and they become fond of each other.
When one may think that this is just another love story of a boy and a girl, then it's not!
Spoiler Alert! The author adds a twist, making it a blend of Human Relationships and a Suspense Thriller as Avipsa starts receiving calls and messages from an unknown number.
The story, which seems bland in the beginning, turns exciting as it progresses and leaves the reader with a cliffhanger, in the end, compelling one to grab the next part. Yes, the author plans to make it a trilogy.
What we liked: The plot and The characterisation.
What we disliked: The Language!
The fact that the book is poorly edited (or one may think if it's really edited in the first place) makes the story weak.
It is hard to believe that the author, who has such a vast vocabulary and can weave the story so beautifully should be so casual about editing. It looks like a first draft.
The grammatical errors, the punctuation errors, wrong selection of words at times, makes the reader lack interest in the story as a whole.
But then, one has to learn from one’s own mistakes, and since this was Ishita’s first novel, we give her the benefit of the doubt and wish her all the success with her upcoming books.
Quite an impressive book Some books are blending of two more genres and the book I finished recently is a very good example of the same. The book named If We Last by Ishita Banik is a good book if you want to read love and horror at the same time. The book is published by Educreation Publication in March 2018.
The story revolves around two protagonists named Avispa and Reyansh. Avispa is a young girl who’s a college student. Her mother encourages her to apply for some job but she is trying to avoid that thing for time-being. She is a very pampered kid at home but not a spoiled child. She is celebrating every moment of her life. But this phase of happiness isn’t ever-lasting for sure.
Reyansh is an engineer who is going through his own trouble. He is unable to hold himself after his girlfriend Mahika left him. He is unable to move-on and he starts hurting himself so he would be able to forget the pain within him.
Avispa and Reyansh interact with each other on Facebook for the first time and they managed to meet each other within a few days at an adventurous location. They grow their bond slowly but surely. While Reyansh is finding a reason to be at peace and to be loved again, Avispa finds him a genuine guy whom she has started to like.
But that’s not all about this story. The story has an “unknown stalker” who creates a lot of chaos in Avispa’s life. She experiences things no one would expect to even imagine. When she explains those incidents to her friend, she also got scared but eventually, she asks Avispa to check with some doctor which left Avispa in shock.
The story is about two people with different background meeting each other in an environment which might be normal for everyone but it’s not normal for them at least. While they continue to come closer to each other, many things happen which are expected to add more drama in their lives.
