Hate Story #2

Beauty: The End

Rate this book
Once upon a time, I thought love was a fairytale.

My prince was a Beast with blood on his hands and ice in his veins. My family offered to save me. The only price: leaving the tattered pieces of my heart behind.

Our love was irrational. Cruel. Unforgiving. Nothing like the storybooks said it should be—but it was perfect.

The longer we were apart, the more I lost myself. He was vicious and domineering, but I craved the submission. Together we were destructive, but I was addicted to the devastation. Still, I thought titles mattered. To my family I was princess, and to the Beast I was slave. I was too naïve to understand that even though he’d been my captor, he’d broken the shackles on my soul.

Once upon a time, I thought love meant happily ever after.

Now I know better.

Beauty is the final book in the Hate Story duet. About what it means to fall in love with the person who has absolutely destroyed you, it contains disturbing and graphic situations that may be a trigger for some.

❝ We’d destroyed each other, so together we could rise from the ashes. ❞

Beauty, which is book two of the Hate Story duet, gave me everything I was looking for. There was angst, suspense, murder, mystery, some more angst, hot sex, some more murder, betrayals out the ying yang, and such incredibly fierce yet twisted love. Frankie was determined to learn more about her family through her long-lost grandmother and Beast was busy trying to maintain his hold over the underground, finding a way to defeat the Pavoni family, and figuring out a way to have his Frankie and eat her too.

❝ The Beast had always been lethal, but now… he was mythic. ❞

Frankie and Beast are now on opposite sides and only one family can win. Who will survive? How can they ever be together? And just who in the hell are Frankie’s parents? It felt a little bit like a feral version of Romeo and Juliet, with a lot more descriptive sex and a lot more bloodshed. Destined to be enemies but their hearts beat as one. Their love was inevitable and undeniable and not even a blood war was going to tear these two apart.

❝ My heart cried for him. Beating, bruised, or broken - it would always find him. ❞

Beast was so insanely hot in this book. He was just as deadly as expected, but with his newfound heart, he was also dedicated, loving and protective. I loved getting the chance to further explore this new side of him. I’m just glad it didn’t make him a complete softie. As for Frankie, I must admit she frustrated me with her ignorance and naivete, but then I have to remind myself that she was only 20 years old and had lived a sheltered life. So some of her actions were maybe not relatable, but understandable. However, when she finally came into her own, when she finally became the woman that Beast had glimpsed, I was beyond excited. He had finally found someone to swim in the darkness with him but who also exposed him to the light.

❝ Let’s take what’s ours. Let’s rule together. ❞

MCG has officially found a new fan in me. If this duet is anything to go by, I can’t wait to dive into the rest of her work. I don’t know if I’ll find another hero as amazingly hot as Beast, but I can sure as hell hope.

So I really adored Beauty: The End (Hate Story, #2) by Mary Catherine Gebhard,
I would love to have given this the full five stars, but I removed half a star as there was something that really bugged the hell out of me, it so got my goat and I Will reveal all later.
So first things first folks, this is part two of our very screwed up dark beauty and the beast tale, a story of a mafia boss and his princess and it's quite a ride let me tell you.
We last left these two (and I'm assuming you have read Beast so this won't be a spoiler for you) with Frankie escaping Beast/Anteros, this is not without a little help from those she assumes will provide the sense of family and affection she craves.
She leaves Beast with her personal calling card, permanently etched over his heart.
Sweet!!!
Beast being a true psychotic and with a truly unfathomable reasoning process, becomes even more enamoured with Frankie (eye roll) I know, I know, it's not romantic but it really sort of is for these two. you so have to be there to get it.
So In "Beauty" our two star-crossed lovers are on opposite sides of a war zone with both sides wrestling for power and Frankie and beast finally realising none of it really matters unless they're going to reign side by side together.
Frankie realises she's gone from the frying pan into the fire and that the grass isn't always greener.
Beast is trying to gain back his respect from his wolves, while also protecting Frankie.
Gone are the suits, our beast is back in all his full glory, finally set free by Frankie's darkness, both feeding the other's corrupt soul.

"His bloody fingers smudged the paper as he turned to the words that had brought the Beast—the real Beast—back. Frankie had drawn a messy black line beneath the sentence Better to reign in hell than to serve in heaven, and underneath it, she’d written, Let me fall with you, Lucifer".

"I’ll catch you, mio cuore. Be my queen".

"Beauty" has action in spades and there's certainly never a dull moment to be had.
It is also so much darker than "Beast" hence I really should warn you that this deals with a lot of sensitive subjects.
There's Murder, Blackmail, torture, human trafficking, rape (not of our Frankie).
Lots of blood as Frankie realises she is Anteros female mirror and shes just as dark as him, the two becoming closer as Frankie's true nature emerges.
and this is where I tell you why I removed half a star and I'm hiding it as it's a big ole spoiler.

.SO BEWARE!!! SPOILER!!! SPOILER!! ALERT!!!

Also, can I just say I had to google Postural tachycardia syndrome (PoTS) for short, just out of curiosity, I was convinced it was a made-up illness, but nope my bad, turns out it's very real.
So there you go "POTS" is real people.

And just well I'm spouting random stuff, I will give you this passage from "beauty" that made me smile. it's a spoiler so have hidden it.

and I'll leave you with this one as it's such an AW!! moment 😍

So this was a page-turner that pulled me in and wrung me out so job well done Mary Catherine Gebhard you definitely have a new fan in me.
I'm looking forward to reading more of your work in the future.

Fuckin BRILLIANT!!!

At the end of book 1 Beast: The Beginning we find Anteros aka Beast and Frankie aka The long lost Pavoni princess in altercation that puts them on opposite sides of the Second Blood War inside the mafia bloodline...
Lies had destroyed Anteros and me more times than I cared to count. Lies about our past, lies about our present, lies about who we were and what we wanted to be-so many lies that we turned our very souls into liars.

Frankie still tries to find out the truth about her origin, and her real heritage, cause all the darkness around her, threats, doubts, ploys and agendas only stir her deeper into the abyss of her own inner dark soul, and she can't let go of the connection she had with Anteros, her captor, her lover, her everything...

and yet her own dark desires are crippling her cause she won't let go and give in to the craving, cause to do that she would need him to feel complete...and all the chase against the inner enemy, outside enemy, trying to find and uncover the snake lying around between the lines, plotting and sneaking and destroying...

Anteros will find himself at the crossroads, having make decisions of either destroying everything he built, his power, position, his men, or eliminate her...but that would be the turning point of his inner break cause, the pull, the lingering overwhelming dark bond she has on him only grows with each day they are apart...
If loving her was playing with fire, then it was wildfire, and he wanted to let it rage because nothing felt better than being licked by her flames.

It wasn't until Beast that I saw a future, but it was a dark one. Something I was afraid to say aloud, or even in my head. Well I'm a fucked up girl who loves killing and you're an animal-a Beast.

BUT there are still secrets between them, and devious, cruel games of power that will shatter them all into the ashes only to rebirth them both...
I want to be by your side and do this...Let's take what's ours. Let's rule together.

There are no bad guys. There are only winners.

Their happily ever after was bizzaro, dark and twisted.

In the end, though, they were together, and among the ruins of their old life, they built a fairytale

And trust me, that's like the most gruesome, twisted, dark, gore and vile fairytale ever written...
It's theirs' though, it's hard to explain the depth of darkness, these two complex and complicated, multilayered characters would go for each other, to obtain that spark of overpowering passion and rouge, untipical love, love that isn't filled with flowers and sweet words, it's hard, rough, painfuly raw and vivid.

I freakin LOVED this book!!!

Beauty by Mary Catherine Gebhard is the second and final book in the Hate Story Duet.
Beauty is not a standalone. You must read book one, Beast, first.
Beauty picks up where Beast ends. Francesca Pavoni - Frankie - escaped Anteros only to find herself in another golden cage. Somehow she can´t get him and their time together out of her head. She can´t be with and not be without him. She runs and seeks him out.
Let me tell you, this book is not a dark read, it is a DARK read. Beauty deals with sensitive subjects and is not for the faint of heart. There is murder, blackmail, betrayal, lies, secrets, twists and unexpected turns which leads to a bloody show down.
Beauty is a mindfudge of epic proportions, nothing is as it seems, nothing. And I love it. I love the writing, the story and the characters. I give 5 dark stars. Thank you, MC Gebhard!

Beauty/Frankie is finally free of Beast/Anteros but she is not free to do as she pleases, she has just moved herself into another cage. Her time with Anteros is never far from her mind and she soon realizes she can't spend her life with him but life with out him is torture. She again runs to find the Beast.

Beauty follows on from Beast beautifully. The darkness and sensitive subject matter is just as intense and riveting as book 1, and is not a story for everyone. Beauty is dominated and seems to be abused in some eyes but it's all consensual, and there's also twists and turns in the story that will lead the reader to exciting, unexpected conclusions. Well developed storyline and characters that grew and surprised as the book progressed.
This was an completely unusual duet to grab my attention, I loved the stories and their secrets.

'Beauty' Mary Catherine Gebhard is book Two in the "Hate Story". This continues the story of Francesca "Franky" Notte and Beast/ Anteros. I would advise to read the previous book 'Beast' before reading this one to fully enjoy their story.
Franky is still trying looking into her family. While Beast is still working to bring down the Pavoni family, along with having Franky.
This book had more excitement and violence to go along with a Romeo and Juliet type of Dark Romance.

Beauty by Mary Catherine Gebhard

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This is book 2. Book 1 ended with a cliff hanger. Although I ultimately enjoyed this book, I found myself frustrated by the amount of misunderstandings.
As the story progressed, I loved the love story, but found myself extremely conflicted. Frankie and Anteros, ultimately have a twisted side. I kind of love that the author didn't pretty it up to appease my moral high ground. At the same time, the fact that certain situations made me gasp in horror while at the same time, made me chuckle at the absurdity of what I just read, unsettled me. Again...I kind of liked that. We'll done Mary Catherine Gebhard...well done.

”Foolish girl,” he said, planting his lips on mine for a harsh kiss. “Still thinking that anything you do or say could affect how I feel about you. If only you would stay the fuck still and let me love you.”

Ok this book was even better than the first! It was sexier, had more action and the will they, won’t they situation kept my heart racing!

Again, there were some predictable moments but also some twists I didn’t see coming! I loved seeing Frankie embrace her darkness and accept that fact that she enjoys the bloodshed and kills in her life.

I also loved seeing Beast become the more vulnerable one in this book, while not one hundred percent going “softy” considering he’s a mob boss. This book had the perfect ending to the duology and the epilogue was amazing! I’ll definitely be reading more books by this author!

Beauty (Hate Story #2) begins right where Beast ends. One big revelation changes Frankie's life forever! She escaped the treacherous Beast.... but as she relives the time she spent with him, she craves his touch once more.

She watches.... Waits... for the right time to make her presence known.
The beast becomes her... PREY.
After the wrong's Antero's has done to Frankie, one thing is for sure....
The Beast needs his Beauty.

Together they are one power couple you don't want to mess with. But they have enemies now, far greater then they least expected who want them both dead. There is a blood bath, and if the Beast's Beauty is harmed..... lets just say he will slaughter all and fill the streets with blood to keep her safe.

Be ready for one epic finale!

***To me the book started off strange. With Frankie, she acted so different from the first book. Her whole demeanor changed, and I was left thinking.....is this really Frankie? The undeniable connection between these two was mind boggling. The things Antero did to Frankie..... This ain't no faint for the heart read, just be warned Mary Gebhard does not gloss the dark demeaning scenes. Overall the Hate Story Duet was really good. Sure I had difficulties getting into it, but at the end of the day I will admit, I liked it. Sad to see this series come to a close.

WARNING: Beauty is DARK, RAW, AND GRITTY. BLOOD WILL BE DRAWN. NO ONE IS SAFE!

Wow. Let me catch my breath. I became a fan of Mary Catherine Gebhard after reading beast and could not wait for Beauty. This story was dark, twisted, consuming and so addicting. Filled with a dark passion for one another, The conclusion of Frankie and Anteros' story was so amazing. I could not get enough.

Beauty follows immediately after Beast as Frankie escaped Anteros and is now living with her "family", Anteros' enemy. I absolutely loved the drama and epic family secrets in this book. It was filled to the brim with betrayals and shocking revelations. Furthermore, I really loved the pulsing need Frankie and Anteros had for one another. You could feel it coming off the pages. Their love was all consuming, deliciously sexy and violent. Furthermore, I love that it had a Romeo and Juliet feel with two warring families and at the core was a story about how two people loved one another unequivocally. Anteros knew Frankie was his perfect match and the Queen to his King and she likewise would burn the world down for him.

All in all this was a fantastic read and I can't wait for more from this author! Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula

Beauty: A Hate Story is the second book in the Hate Story duet. Book one, Beast, left off with an OMG cliffhanger so I couldn't wait to dive into Beauty.
Frankie had started this journey in an attempt to avenge her father. She quickly found herself enmeshed in a complete mafia war.

"That was all we ever were: lust and lies. I wondered if he knew I was lying. I wondered if it was a test I’d failed. I felt like a fool again."

What a wild ride! Beauty: A Hate Story is a super dark and super twisty and very grown up tale of Beauty and the Beast. This is not a book for everyone and definitely not for the squeamish. It was much darker and more violent than what I usually read, but this author's writing really just pulls me in and keeps me turning page after page!

“Earlier at the docks, you said I destroyed you.” With her chin in her hands, hands on his pectorals, she studied him with full blue eyes. “You destroyed me too, but you did more than that.” His brows drew in, waiting for her to elaborate. “You rebuilt me.”

I loved the writing and highlighted passages throughout the book, but my very favorite quote came in the acknowledgments and gave me a much needed laugh after such a dark and emotional story!

"It’s that awkward, thick silence at the end when the names stop rolling and everyone’s wondering if something is coming after it. Did you all really just sit through five minutes of oddly written acknowledgments to not even get a funny post-credit scene?
Yes."

Damn the world and all who inhabits it.
I swear the first book was dark and broody and oh so yummy. This one, however, has turned into a STFU mantra in my head.
WTAF.
Anteros trusts ERRONE.
description
Dude, you are in the Mafia – DO NOT TRUST ANYONE.
But nope, ole Anteros is like “Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but here’s my number, and my plans for world domination.”
Then we got some Games of Throne shit going on.

Yea, that’s totally your sister you just macked all over.

Holy batballs!!!

This was one of those over the top violent, oversexed, insane, tortuous, sick and twisted reads. it goes a little something like... DRAMA, SEX, DRAMA, SEX, DRAMA, DRAMA, SEX, SEX... I think you get it. And like the first book, Beast's hands are always in her panties. it's kinda weird!

After all that battling, the heroine finally comes to realize what her true nature is. How she craves what Beast tried to show her she was in book 1. The HEA is them discovering that they're both sick fucks!! YAH!!!! pink balloons and clowns!!

It was a true mafia trope story with so much going on, I had to take breaks! Even though this trope isn't really my cuppa, it was entertaining. But so you know, I'm not revisiting this dark stuff for awhile. It was really overkill!

Brutal. Dangerous. Distorted. This is the tone of the romance we find in Mary C. Gebhard's work. Written from the deconstruction of the story of Beauty and the Beast, this duology achieved, with a particularly difficult theme, to be well executed and very well written. We have a completely unstructured romance, where the main characters are not the archetypes we have based, but two people misrepresented and transposed by illegality.

Beginning from the final events of the first book, Frankie discovers that she has switched to a worst prison than before. Despite being rescued and no longer be in the possession of Anteros, she realizes that such dreamed freedom is more and more distant. Her grandmother is not as sweet as she looks, and worse: she misses Anteros. He in turn, in the course of the first book, was so obsessed by Francesca that he did not realize that everything he fought to build for was falling apart at his feet. In that volume we then have the Beast fighting to return to power, and Frankie tries to survive in the midst of that game.

Now recognized as the Princess of Mafia, since part of her origin has been discovered, and she is a descendant of the original Pavoni family, Frankie realizes that this condition is only a title. Used as a symbol of the Mafia, she is no more than a piece manipulated in the interests of his grandmother. While trying to seek the truth about its origins, it is faced with a web of lies perpetuated from generation to generation.

And it is in this volume that we see that Frankie is not as good as she seemed to be. She is obscure. Much more than Anteros. While he was became so, when he was beaten by his father, abused by his mother, went to live in the street and was rescued by the head of the mafia, that is to say, that's all he knows, Frankie was raised normally. Her mother died when she was young, her father did not care, but lived in the real world, had family values and teachings. So the fact of this life to attract her, she likes the power, the dark side, the deaths, the blood, shows us that the real danger is her.

Anteros on the other hand is in a complicated situation. He saw his empire crumble. He no longer has the prestige of before, partly because of bad decisions or lack of them. He is threatened by Lucia, his relationship with his henchmen is no longer the same, he has to deal with the certainty that there is a traitor among his men and still remains completely obsessed with Frankie.

No longer able to deny what they feel for each other, the two indulge in this passion and decide to reign together, overthrowing their enemies and conquering all power. The way to the goal is long, bloody, scary, stuffed with death and twisting.

I did not know the author, it is not a topic I usually read, but it surprised me positively. She was able to arrest me, I was very curious throughout the chapters, and I even hoped that Anteros would escape in some situations. I confess that in the end I even managed to accept their relationship. I recommend reading.

Shocking: While most women are happy to receive flowers and chocolates, Frankie stays radiant with an unusual gift: a box with a person shredded inside. Updated psychopath definitions.

Shocking 2: Gabby has not learned anything even after so many years in the Mafia. Still a pawn.

The scene in the church: Anteros listening to the confession. Okay, there was a big misunderstanding, but the fact that he was going only because she called him because he needed him, it's cute.

Beauty picks up where Beast left off, and it seems like forever that I've been waiting to read the conclusion to Anteros' and Frankie's story. This book has it all. Intrigue, backstabbing, stunning twists, even some GoT type losses... IT'S ALL HERE.

A new player is on the chess board, and it makes for more maneuvering between two warring factions. So much so that the waters become incredibly muddied, and some interesting offshoots happen. Threads that you may have thought were lost from the first book are back in Beauty. And they may even have more provenance to them than was first thought.

I know I'm being cagey, because you SO don't want me to tell you more. I was utterly engrossed from page 1 to the Acknowledgements. Knowing too much will do you a disservice.

“Fall with me,” Anteros whispered below my earlobe, closing the distance between us. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me back to his chest, voice low, making my skin tingle. “Be my queen.”

Frankie isn't the same girl she was when she traded herself for her father, she learns about her family and what has been happening around her without her knowledge - and she's going to be making her own decisions starting now. If it means she can stay with Anteros, all the better, but she'll do what she has to do to survive.

Meanwhile, Anteros looks slightly weaker because of Frankie, and that leaves him open for a takeover. He's not to be underestimated though. He's stronger because of her, although Beast may have to do something drastic to stay in power. Maybe a lot of things to keep his kingdom from falling down around him.

The glint of knives, the howl of Wolves, Nightclubs, Catacombs, Pavonis, De Lucas, never - EVER knowing who to trust... And through it all, Frankie and Anteros.

Like the title, this duet was Beauty-ful (ugh, yeah, that was bad, sorry) and I don't regret a second of my time reading it.

I give Beauty five "loose floorboard" stars.

Wow….

“Dark” romance covers a lot of territory including violence, depravity, psychological twists. I embraced this genre like peanut on chocolate, shocking everyone but no one more so than myself. I am squeamish and adore a happy ending – and might just have a touch of scaredy-cat-itis. Not exactly the poster child for walking on the darker side. Surprisingly, I find myself going back to these stories as they call me with their sinister sirens, each one pushing that imaginary line of ‘how dark I can stand’. A small group of authors constantly try (and succeed) to push and nudge me over that line. That group now includes Mary Catherine Gebhard. Why? Because her Hate Story duet, a twisted, violent and mesmerizing tale, crushed that line…

Frankie and Anteros had a love that defied every challenge and those challenges? Yeah, they were huge… Living, and thriving in the underworld is a cutthroat way of life and they knew that very well. Safety is an illusion and love a lofty goal when survival and success are valued above all. Frankie’s life was turned upside down and Anteros, oddly enough, became her lover and her savior. I didn’t expect to like his character as much as I ended up doing. He was bad. Bonnie and Clyde bad but black is never one shade, is it? And I saw them all – in his ruthlessness and drive, in the love and protectiveness he showed Frankie.

I spent half the time reading and the other half gasping, jaw dropping on the floor, at the next betrayal. Yet another shocking revelation. Just one more gruesome twist… With an ending that surprised me yet again, it was a fitting end to a couple that have no limits… ~Diane, *4 Wow Stars*

This book started off with a lot of domination and there’s a lot of sexual scenes. I didn’t feel connected to it because it seemed to annoy me that they were just thrown into this sexual element. I get they have chemistry and they are dominated but it didn’t feel like it worked as well in the beginning.

However as I kept reading because I loved the first book, it got better, there were twists and turns which kept me on the edge of my seat. I like seeing the darkness dealt with in a sensitive way and not glossed over. It was the turning point for me and I have to say I really enjoyed the second half of this book.

These characters are complex, and you can’t really define them in a specific way. Their connection is unparalleled and I think as a direct effect of that, there is this almost uncanny hook that pulled me back in. I have to say for a duet, this is different and yet addicting. I did really enjoy it but the introduction did disappoint me.

This is the second half and the end of Frankie and Anteros's story. This book picks up a little farther than the first book ended.

Beauty no longer belongs to the Beast and she is no longer his slave. She has escaped his castle and is with her own family now, but family isn't always the best place to be. Frankie keeps seeking Anteros out.

Can Beauty truly tame the Beast or will the Beast turn Beauty into a Beast?

I absolutely loved this series. I was sad to see it end, but they got their perfect ending. Amazing story.

Take one fairytale and fracture it. Lace it with a dark, deviant, and hedonistic dose of sex, deceit, murder and mob bosses, and you'll be left with Beauty.

An enthralling and equally compelling conclusion to it's predecessor, Beast.

Anteros and Frankie's story will take you firmly out of your comfort zone, and hold you hostage until the very last page; leaving you to wonder, what just happened? And, more importantly, why did I LOVE it?

Holy mother! After having had read Beast, i didn't know how Mary Catherine Gebhard would be able to top it off when it came to the darkness, suspense and all around captivating nature of the story itself, and yet, Beauty was so much better. It was the perfect conclusion to this duet that gives a very different rendition of what Beauty and The Beast is - and it also happens to be one of my favourite fairy tale.

4.5 sexy dreams

This book had it all. Being thrown into the emotional train ride is only the understatement since one minutes i could be gasping in shock, then next shaking my head in confusion, and others searching frantically around me, wondering if i read that last passage correctly. This is the type of book that makes you think twice about what you consider love really is and how much it can really endure. While this author wasn't on my go-to list in the past, one thing is for sure, i will be keeping a much better eye out on her in the future, especially if she'll keep publishing book such as Beast and Beauty.

THE DARK TWISTED FAIRYTALE?

After ending Beast, I didn't know what to expect with Beauty. I kept thinking what ending can Anteros and Frankie have? The war was raging who was going to be on top. Would be the Pavoni? Would it be Anteros?Which side would Frankie choose?

There were so many obstacles... The ending wasn't clear... I wanted to throw many damn kindle a couple of times. I wanted to shake the crap out of Frankie and slap the carp out of Anteros.

Frankie had this whole ignorance is bliss mentality. The world she became a part she couldn't afford to keep her head in the sand. Frankie was a hopeful soul. She hoped to be normal. She hoped for family. She hoped for the fairytale.

Fairytales were make believe. This was reality and the it was ugly, it was magnificent.

Loved this quote so hard mainly the compare and contrast of reality and the fairytale. I'm so glad that Frankie starting to understand her truth. She stopped being afraid of her darkness. Fairytales are built around the black and white. Reality is where are are the gray. I recommend Beauty to anyone who is okay with getting the reality in replace of the fairytale.

Major book hangover!! Beautiful dark queen!!

Ive always been a paranormal type fantasy reader and dark Romance is something I've just learned I really like. After reading beast I was so drawn in and obsessed with their story I bought beauty directly. It didn't dissapoint! I love the darkness of this story. I live how she evolved from the fragile victim to the strong insane dark princess!! I wish I could find more books just like this one. Sadly I believe this us a one if a kind story though. So I will be in withdraws from this for quite some time. If you like dark twisted romance or even think you might like to try reading it DO!!! This is the one to captivate you!!! I wish I had more of beasr! And Frankie!! I will miss them dearly.

Even better than the 1st which I honestly didn't think would be possible. I checked several times to see if this had come out after finishing the first one and it was well worth the wait.
I doesn't pick up anywhere near where I thought it would from the first nor did the story go the way I was expecting. Instead it went a much better way!!!!
So in love with how these books are written with Frankie's first person view and Anteros' all seeing all knowing narrator. It's a mix I've never read before and it worked so well. The impersonal narration by Anteros fit him so incredibly well. I love these books 😍😍😍

4.5⭐

A perfect way to sum up the story of Beast and his beauty. Nothing is ever simple or straight forward for this pair, and they struggle when they are apart but are explosive when together. Their chemistry is frighteningly intense.

The betrayals, the secrets and the lies turn this book into a very complex read, and it can get a little difficult to keep up with the story, as well as the backstory too but I really enjoyed it nonetheless.

Another amazing read, and finally our Beast and beauty get their happily ever after!

I loved book 1, but in this one Frankie was to whiney, childish(until the end) but it was hard for me to get thru, I also could not get why so got so mad for her to leave, so for that part it went slow and I could put the book down......I do recommended:))

Beauty just blew my mind. I read it like 3 times already and I have to say that it made my heart beat so fast. I was holding my breath.

I couldn't imagine another story for Frankie and Anteros. Having also his POV added so much more depth to the story, his side giving more rhythm. I am definitely in love with the Beast.

Twisted, so fucked up and terribly challenging, I was probably in shock all along the story, cursing a lot...
That underworld the author created was incredibly addictive. I was high on adrenaline, chasing the high.

About Frankie and Anteros, the foreplay between these two was intense and smoking hot. The POV were well written and Frankie’s in that version was so much better. Her descent into the darkness and mostly acknowledging. It was fascinating. She gained on strength, more powerful and so dangerous. I liked that people saw her as a little weak thing, that appearances were deceiving.

Anteros, was just wow! I really loved this character. Brutal, cruel, dark, twisted but in love, and reading his thoughts and feelings for Frankie made me swoon. I liked to see his weakness, insecurities and baring his soul. I became attached to him. Even after all the atrocities from the first book. Damn that man has no limits but guess what… the Beast has a soul!

Their relationship was explosive, sinful, challenging, like an addiction. An explosion of fireworks. After the mindblowing ending of Beast, I wanted to see how it would lead us. Just a turmoil of emotions. I was in a mess and these two drove me more than freaking crazy, they drove me mad!!!!

The storyline?? I don’t know where the author found the inspiration. The inspired Beauty and The Beast retailing was an incredible journey. I was overwhelmed and fascinated.
Destroyed as individuals and raising from the ashes together. Fighting, tearing apart and then destroying everything in the process, Frankie and Anteros owned it, ruled it, earned it.
The Hate Story turned into a love story, it might be not conventional, but when Mary Catherine Gebhard gets wild, then you just have to enjoy the ride. High five!!!!

Where to begin -
Beauty opens a month after Beast ended - Don't panic we get back to that - Frankie is finding her inner beast and it turns out no matter how hard she is denying it -she craves the animal - both her own and Anteros'
The new war has begun and Anteros has no intention of losing - he will reign no matter the cost and Frankie will be his queen -
This is packed with all those great things that we love in a dark psychological thriller - secrets, and lies that tear at the soul - so many hidden agendas that bleed out slowly - the thirst for power and vengeance that shred any and all in their path - All that decadent darkness that makes a psychological thriller the perfect read
I absolutely loved how Gebhard weaved this story -all the little moments and choices that led up to and defined each character - their battles and finally their acceptance of the inevitable whether it be to delve into the darkness or swim toward the light - this duet will keep you captivated and entertained to the very end
If you are sensitive to certain subjects or have not spent a lot of time in the emotional dark pool of literature this may not be the duet for you -
I received a complimentary copy of this book
