Truly…

Tant pis… Elle est tout ce que je veux.

I’m not feeling inspired but I promised myself I would review every book I read in 2021, (Note to self: don’t be an idiot next new year’s eve setting ridiculous goals), so I will say a few things.

🕴🏻The girl on the cover’s breasts are too small for this story.

🕴🏻In my humble opinion, Creed should have been the last brother’s story, because he’s the darkest, but he’s a cute bunny as well.

🕴🏻 I love him. I love Tallulah and her sweet accent too.

🕴🏻This one’s just to fill this review a bit more.

🕴🏻I still like this series a lot. Don’t be fooled by my shitty review.

❤️ Sweet love for y’all ❤️

Yeah, 6 stars...easily.

Couldn't put it down.
Can't get enough.
When can I get my hands on Book#3!!

Book #1 was Cord's story and I absolutely loved it! I review on goodreads but I'm normally too lazy to post my reviews anywhere else! But Cora Brent's first novel was so good I felt like shouting it from the roof tops! I mean, heck, it's hit all the best seller lists since then so you know I'm not alone in my opinion.

As for book #2, Creed's book, I adored Creed! Pretty amazing too! Must read! Now. Immediately! Read Book #1 though first!

Its been a while since i continue with miss Brent series of gentry boys. And i miss it. When i see the audiobook on my radar, i grab it. It is nice to listen to Creed story. His story is a bit darker and bit broody.

Just like the pervious book on this series, the plot is simple yet interesting. Interesting enough for me to keep on listening. The character development/ chemistry is not much. Just barely there to keep up with the story. I think miss Brent writes this book for dedication on hard life in Emblem.

I got a heart breaking picture how cruel and brutal a life can be in Emblem. Poverty, drugs, gang and dark life of those people who lives in poverty.

Overall i do enjoy the book very much.

Risk was the second book in the Gentry Boys series by Cora Brent. The Gentry boys were triplets that were extremely close, had a terrible childhood and had each other’s backs at all times. Risk picked up where book one, Draw, left off and focused on Creed Gentry.

At times it was sad. Creed carried the weight of the world on his shoulders and I wasn’t sure if I could get through it with all the sadness as it rigged at my heart strings. But I loved his deep thoughtful nature. Risk was a journey into opening up to be loved and becoming the person he was meant to be.

Truly also had her share of childhood issues. She was strong and a perfect match for Creed. I enjoyed getting to know both of them as the story unraveled and the layers of each were disclosed.

In the end, I thoroughly enjoyed Risk. There was one main subplot (for Creed) that I wanted more of a conclusion - or maybe I should say a follow up - but I appreciated the unique twist that Brent created as a resolution. No spoilers so no elaboration, but it’s possible we may see more further in the series through Declan. We’ll have to wait and see.

Otherwise, I loved the story and I loved the closeness and bantering between the brothers. Their bond was evident in both books and I expect nothing less with Chase’s story as well in Game.

My 2nd Cora Brent book. Creed & Truly's story. More gritty, raw, & violent than book 1 (Draw). I liked both main characters. I am glad that the h, had a past, not just an "innocent" meeting up with man ho Creed (Too overdone when the h is so sweet & innocent & meets up with the more experienced H). The violence was near the last third of the book. The tension building up to BIG EVENT (not spoiling it for you!) was almost too much. Like a fear with no way out. The outcome was, IMO, almost anti-climatic. I was still relieved. 3rd person POV alternating Truly & Creed. I loved the way the brothers supported each other. I'm married to an identical twin- so I can imagine triplet brothers! The h & H from Draw (Saylor & Cord) are featured quite a bit in this book. The side story re Chase was very good.I liked Chase & he seems the most different of the 3 brothers. The brothers and Saylor live together so there's a lot of interaction that seems natural. This book has a couple of loose ends, which I'm sure will be included in the next book (Chase) Game
I'll be reading that one too!

Re read via audible

Prior review disappeared...

I liked this one better on re read.

Creed is the most tortured of the Gentry brothers. Has a tendency to drown his pain in alcohol. Tries not to fight because he feels he is too close to the edge and does not want to be like his abusive father.

He and Truly start as a ONS, but then there is another night and another. He is waiting for a dangerous underground fight which he wants no part of and may kill him so he holds back. But yet cannot.

Truly has a terrible history where she did some terrible things in her youth that led to her being pretty screwed up when it comes to men. So she holds back, yet cannot.

Overall, they are mostly sweet together and they end up helping each other heal.

RECENSIONE QUI: https://thereadingslove.blogspot.com/...

description

Got to love the Gentry Boys. They are back and I was a bit apprehensive and thought hmm can Ms. Brent pick off with the second book where she finished with the last one and bloody hell did she deliver. 4.5 Creed loving stars.

Truly has had a tough life and has made a lot of mistakes but if I just want to be loved because your mother can't seem to and you are young you will believe what you are told. Truly named Tullah Rae Lee works with Saylor at Cluck This. Truly hasn't been living her life until Saylor persuades her to go out with her to The Hole.

Creed Gentry lives on Gentry Island with this brothers Cord, Chase and himself. Saylor is in the club now as she is with Cord. I love that we still get to see them and their lives that they are building together.

Creed made a deal for the names of the guys that beat Chase up. The deal with Gabe was that he then had to fight with a man of Gabe's choice. Creed likes the bottle a little too much but he has a lot of demons to deal with. He liks loose women and booze not a good combination.

That is until Truly walks in to The Hole and sparks fly. They might only be physical to begin with but even then they are both lying to one another and themselves. Feelings get involved and it is always messy but life isn't fun if there is no messy. Creed's fight is a toughg call and Truly manages to lay her demons to rest.

I really do not know where Ms. Brent gets the names for the characters but they are unique. These books aren't fluffy and it shows a different aspect on how people live. They aren't all rich, have great jobs and live the high life they are ordinary people with problems that can sometimes smother you.

Give me Chase and give me him now please. But what I really really want is a book with Declan Gentry.

4.5-5 Stars

"I'd seen enough of Creed Gentry to know he might be the worst thing I could do. Yet one lustful glance from him scrambled every piece of sanity I owned."

I love nothing more than a damaged hero that melts my heart who despite his brooding temper, deep down he's one heck of a man; a man that knows how to talk, touch and treat a woman. Such a man is Creed - he stole my heart in RISK. Sorry Cord, but you have to move over, he took your spot on my favorite man-candy bench ;)

Truly and Creed are two damaged souls that suffered through many tragedies in their young age. Truly is Say's co-worker and it was just a matter of time when she and Creed (Say's boyfriend, Cord, older brother) collide. Their encounter in the bar was epic and even I felt their sizzling chemistry.

"I was so wet I was afraid I might drown."

I loved their confrontations. Every word - even though he's all about less is more - was precise and made the other want to rip his/her clothes off. Both usually don't do relationships; they've trust issues and more skeletons in the closet then you'd think. Therefore, both were surprised when they came back for more despite Truly's angst to get hurt again.

"I just didn't have the space in my heart for it anymore; no room for one bad piece of business after another, all of them attached to men."

After their first time they craved for more... craved each other.

"This chick was't like my usual options. Yeah, she was gorgeous and hotter than pure hell but there was something else about her that made me think I was damn lucky she was letting me in."

I adored this book!! I adored the characters!! I adored Creed.... he's so far my favorite of the Gentry boys.

I've to mention that this book has a back-story which is linked to DRAW; therefore, I advise you to read it before.

I not only liked their slow-building love story but also the angst and doubts I could feel from the characters while reading. Creed, as well as his brothers, have had one hell of a childhood and his demons are brutal. To numb himself, getting rid of the voices and dreams, he drinks but when he meets Truly there's no need for it. All he seems to need is her, her touch, and her love.

Page by page I was falling more for Creed. At the beginning I thought 'Mmh, let's see how this brother turns out to be' and I've to admit he fully surprised me. In book one we barely get an idea of who he really is - he's like a closed book, talks little to nothing and keeps his distance from people. He's only close and open with his brothers. One could feel there's way more to Creed than meets the eye and I'm happy to confirm there's way way more!

He made me laugh, swoon and feel. It was such a great story and the build-up to a certain event made me very emotional - I was afraid for Creed and hoped to god he makes it out alive!

"I watched her face as I moved in and out of her body. I was trying to remember remember everything about the way she felt. I also wanted her to remember everything about me. For the first time in my life I wasn't just fucking a woman; I was loving her."

This is a contemporary romance filled with some angst, lots of steam, laughter and a good dose of awesomeness. I love this series and recommend it whenever I can. As said earlier, I advise to read DRAW first to know the back story why Creed 'volunteered', risking everything he just found.

After reading "Draw" I wanted Creed to have a great story and I expected so much more for him. Creed's history had the potential for greatness, filled wth past ghosts and demons but just when I thought it was really going to happen it fell short, SPLAT! right in a hot Tempe, Arizona desert parking lot. Yes, the anticipation of "the event" was OK, but IMO, lasted too long and again, just happened and it was over...wham bam and thank you ma'am. I will admit I skimmed (sorry Ms. Brent) during this portion and toward the end. I felt as if I was clicking upward on a roller coaster, anticipation building.....steep incline and anticipation building and then a small dip and a flat plain. IMHO, the storyline and the characters weren't developed to their full potential. The heroine was just a stereotype who happened to attract a former badboy/slut that changed just for her, hmm, I think this is the first time I've read this (giant eye roll). I give the author kudos for the story, but it needed to deliver and arrive at the fruition it deserved. Unfortunately it did not.

Again another 3.5, goddamn good reads I need half scores in the doors!! I might start a petition.. who’s with me??

This is Creed Gentry’s story. And what at a story it is! This one had my heart in my throat the majority of the time. There’s a few chapters near the end that had me ball up and cry. I wasn’t a huge fan of Truly. I felt for her but I would have liked to have seen more of her personality, she was a little too squishy nice for me. I wanted to see a bit of backbone, which is what all of these Gentry brothers need!!

Creed I liked, maybe more than Cord but I’m nit sure. Would have been good to see the hell he went through a bit more. But that glimpse we did see I understood why he is the way he is.

There’s an addict with these books, I have the next two, and as much as I am enjoying them I’m nit sure how I feel about Chase and he’s probably the one the thats going to make me fall hard! I’m not sure if I want to read about Deck though? I like his presence in these books but not so much I care about him enough to read his story. I guess we will see after the next one

Wow, I know I wont be able to convey in words what this book did to me. I loved Draw and didn't think it was possible to top it but Risk was on a whole nother level.
I could not put this book down but I did read it very slowly because I didn't want it to end.

Creed was a man of few words but when he opened his mouth, whether it was to talk to Truly or sing, it meant something meaningful.
"One more thing. Tell her she was it for me. I should have told her myself"

He never hurt Truly and I loved that about him. There was no miscommunication between Creed and Truly....this was just a love story between two people who had more in common than they realized.
Both had a hard childhood that they overcame. Creed was everything that Truly stopped hoping for a long time ago. Neither were perfect but they were perfect and deserved each other.

This is such a great love story that will stay with you for days to come and I cant wait to read Chases story, not only because I love him but I'll get to see into the lives of the other brothers.

Well done Cora, well done. You are now one of my favorite authors!!

Salve, Fenici!

E come sempre lascio a voi scoprire cosa succederà.

4.5 Risky Stars!

Review by Natasha Gentile

So I first head of Cora when she wrote Draw, and that is when my love affair for the Gentry boys started. Oh those Gentry boys. What is not to love about them, hot, smoking hot, triplets, I mean seriously, how is that even legal? Triplets brought up with a abusive father, the turn 18 and run as fast as the can away from the hellhole they called their childhood.

This book is about Creed Gentry, oh Creed. One look, that is all it took for her to be hooked, and if I’m honest, it would take me one look as well.

I’d seen enough of Creed Gentry to know he might be the worst thing I could do. Yet one lustful glance from him scrambled every piece of sanity I owned.

Truly, she is a twenty one year old with a huge lists of mistakes hanging on her head. She just wants to do the right thing. She doesn’t have the time to do the run around with Creed, or is she?

Creed’s big hands massaged my waist and his lips brushed against mine just long enough for me to nearly beg for more. The chorus of “Between the Devil and Me” reached its crescendo but there was nothing else that mattered except the ache between my legs and Creed’s need to fill it.

Oh My heavens, Truly, you know you want it, just go get it, just do it, it’s ok. It’s only going to be one night. How hard can it be to have the best sex of your life and then send him on his way? Truly, he’s a Gentry, it’s the hardest thing that you will every do in your whole life.

Creed was silent.
I took a deep breath. “What am I risking, creed? With you?
“Nothing.”

My. Heart. Breaks. Creed breaks my heart, you see he’s the quiet brother. He stays behind, but he’s got your back 150%, every single time. The thing is, he just wants love, even though he doesn't know it. He wants that white picket fence, he wants the wife and the 2.5 kids, but can he do it?

A hideously sick feeling washed over me. It was heartbreaking loss, or rather the threat of it.
This is what happened when you risked holding someone in your arms all night long.
It’s what happened when you began to feel as if your day meant nothing unless the man who’d carved his name into your heart was with you.

Truly, she wants the same thing. She wants it all, she wants the mistakes of her past to be erased and she wants the love of a man to be by her side, making her complete.

One night of weakness, of passion, of every impulse I’d struggled to contain.
Yet I can’t stop myself from going back for more.

One night, that is all I wanted, that is all she wanted, that is all I told her it would be, but something about her keeps me coming back, something about her makes me want to risk it all. In the end how much of a risk is it for love?

The writing in the series is just getting better and better, and I’m so excited for the next Gentry’s book!!!

I love the Gentry boys. Their story is so uplifting. I wanted more Creedence. His story is great but I just wanted more. More of him as a person and more of what made him as he is. More about his musical talent would have been awesome. I also wanted more Tully and a slower pace to their relationship and the reveals. I'm not sure I'm happy with the twist for Chase. Did he really need that? No matter, I am still going on to book 3. I love these characters.

This was an alright read. The story was good, but I thought that there could have been more added to it. Also, I thought the characters were okay. I did not like them as much as the previous characters in the first book. The ending was good. I will continue the series to see how the rest of the series turns out. Overall, an okay read.

Risk - Truly und Creed (Gentry Boys 2)
von Cora Brent
SIEBEN VERLAG

<br />Amarti è un rischio meraviglioso (Gentry Boys, #2) <br />by Cora Brent

"It's a Gentry world. The rest of us only live in it."

Isn't that the truth!. I must admit that from the very first Gentry Boys Book I read I was intrigued by Creed, his pain seemed to run deeper than his brothers and for that reason I was so excited to read Risk.

Everyone thinks they know what Creed Gentry and his brothers are like

"Fucking and fighting" he said with some bitterness "they say that's all we white trash Gentry men know how to do."

But, like his brothers there is so much more to Creed Gentry then he shows the world.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved learning about the many layers of Creed and that under that hard seemingly impenetrable facade there was a sweet, kind and loving man. He carried the demons and bore the scars of his horrific childhood with his hostile personality, easy women and lots of booze. He has never nor wanted to let anyone in except for his two brothers. His life and feelings are completely changed after he hooks up with Truly Lee, he only intended it to be for one night but for the first time ever he finds himself wanting to let someone in.

"the thought of seeing her again excited the shit out of me. I wanted to see her agin. All of her."

Truly, is a sweet girl who has spent the past 4 years trying to leave behind a past she is ashamed of and the memories of a not so great childhood. She has been used by men many times in the past and has tried to protect herself.

"I'd known the sort of wildness that drags down the soul as it wore the freshness off the skin. It had the power to leave nothing more than a collapsed shell behind.."

However, after being propositioned by the gorgeous Creed Gentry, Truly decides to succumb to what her body desperately wants for just one night. After a mind blowing night of passion Truly finds herself realising that just one night would never be enough.

One of the things I really enjoyed with this book is that there is no real class divide between these two. They are both from pretty harsh backgrounds and have struggled to find better lives and be better people. There is no judgment between the two and they are accepting of each other, the good and the bad. The make each other want to confront their pasts and become better people.

"I want to be the kind of man that deserves you."

I loved seeing the transformation in Creed as he begins opening up and allowing his happiness and love for Truly to come through.

"You've got this disgusting thing on your face that might have started out as a smile."

The rest of the gang were all present and we still got plenty of interaction with them, which was great and provided a good build up for Chase's story next.

My only complaint with the book and unfortunately it was the same qualm I had with the previous book, the story flew along and developed perfectly but once again the ending felt slightly rushed and a bit anticlimactic. After the build up to the "big part" of the story I was expecting a bit more of a "bang" when it was really only a "pop".

Apart from that one issue, I am a massive fan of these gorgeous Gentry Boys. I really enjoyed this book it had a good storyline with just the right amount of drama, angst, lust and love. Creed Gentry will have you swooning from beginning to end.

"You damn well better listen when I tell you this; I love you."

I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

I thought this was a really good book. It was a lot better composed than the last one and just overall a lot smoother and complex.

This book was Creed's turn. When the last book left off, there was an ominous cloud hanging above the Gentry boys' heads as Creed had bargained and now holds a debt to be paid in a fighting ring - a fight that could cost him is life. As this book picks up, that black cloud has done anything but blown away. The anxious agony of waiting for the phone call that could seal Creed's fate, is taking a huge toll on him and his brothers. He spends his days working out, getting ready, and his nights drinking himself into oblivion and/or find a girl to use. While out at the bar one night, in walks Saylor and Cord with Saylor's friend/coworker, Truly. Creed knows immediately that she is who he wants to take home that night. They start a bit of an erratic hook-up relationship, all the while growing closer emotionally too. Creed finds solace and peace in Truly, and Truly just can't say no to Creed. There's a lot unsaid between them, though, since they both want each other at arm's length. However, they find that being that at peace and comfortable with one another tends to make your lips loose. Creed starts talking about his past more and Truly censors her past, but still lets some things drop. When Truly finds out about Creed pending doom, they start realizing what their worth to one another and the angst rises a lot. Creed has to decide what, in his life, is worth fighting for, and Truly has to decide if having Creed close is worth opening her heart to and exposing her secrets.

These two were quite an interesting pair. I've rarely read a book like this one, where the main couple were just about always on the same page at every step in the story. They started out not really thinking a relationship was in the cards for either of them, and them grew into mutual companionship (with a pinch of denial), and then finally they were both forced to almost freeze their emotions as the waited for Creed's fight. They were really an interesting pair to read about, and definitely a unique read for me.

The ending of this book felt a lot different than the last one since, this one had an almost uplifting air to it, instead of an impending threat situation. I'm really curious to find what will happen for Stephanie and Chase though .

*** I was fortunate enough to receive a copy of the book to review******
The Gentry triplets are back!! I loved these triplets in book 1 of these series but Creed captured my attention and keep it. Absolutely my favorite! In this book the gang is back and there's a few surprises along the way. I got to see the guys kind of grow up a little, they have more responsibility in a way. The banter, sarcasm it still there, plus the almost inappropriate things they say, love these guys. They are still trying to make it day by day, still being bad boys trying to be good and in my humble opinion Creed is the goodest bad boy of all. Raunchy in a great way... that sees what he wants and goes after it and this leads him to something he didn't know he wanted and probably never thought he would have. Now, Truly is tempted by Creed and falls hard without wanting too. This girl has had it rough also but has changed her ways. Truly has alot in common with the Gentry boys in a lot of ways.
I really enjoyed this book! In some parts I had to put it down and walk away because it had me in tears. It was an emotional journey, reading this book, I laughed, and I cried. But I cheered for Creed and Truly all the way. Tough decisions have to be made.... Creed had always made those tough decisions and he has carried the pain and guilt everyday.... everyday.
This book had one particular scene that was especially heartbreaking. ... Creed just broke me and as I write this review I am literally crying. It was to me EPIC!!! That scene, whether in a book or movie that has you smiling while crying and hugging yourself (my kindle). This book had THAT scene, I won't say more because I truly (

The boys are back.

The Gentry boys are back and this time it's Creedence in the main role. Creedence is struggling he has the weight of the deal he made with Gabe weighing heavily on him and it's affecting his whole life, he's drinking too much and can't see a way out and then across the room at The Hole he sees her and he knows, he knows she's different and he wants her, badly and Truly wants him as well, I mean seriously she's female and breathing of course she wants him.
As a Gentry Creedence has a reputation, his past is littered with dark memories and mistakes but that's where Truly is truly perfect for him because her past is no picnic either, she has her own share of dark memories and mistakes and not forgetting her and her sisters have the interesting names as well Tallulah, Meridian, Augusta and Carolina.
The backbone of this book like the previous one is the fantastic relationship between the brothers, in this we also see how Saylor fits in and her growing relationship with Creed and Chase, but this book belongs to Creed and Truly and they're perfect together I loved them both and I loved this book, I can't wait for the next one which of course will be the last brother Chase but I really hope that Cora extends this series past the brothers to Declan, I loved him in the last book and I love him even more in this one.

I absolutely loved the first book in this series and I have been anticipating this one for a while. Well, I finally got to read it and it was great! I loved that it was dual pov so we could see what was going on in Creed's head. Man, he is one hot sexy bad boy that really needed a hug! And I wanted to give it to him! Truly also needed a hug and I was really glad these two wound up together. Both had some pretty sad and awful upbringings and they fit perfect together.

With Creed's big fight, I was really happy that things didn't go the way they were looking like they would with the other fight he went to watch (so sad :( ) and I'm glad he put the hurt on that dude like he did. I wanted his blood! (grrrr) Now I really can't wait to read the next book and see what's in store for Chase and if he'll be able to overcome his issues....

One word.....Creed.  Yes, Creed.  He was my ultimate broken, hurting, brooding, quiet hulk of man.   In other words, he was perfect!  I never thought I would fall for him the way I did, but it happened!

Creed and Truly.....they said so little to each other, but words were not what they needed.  They were attracted like magnets, and with their unspoken words, they said so much to each other.

With Truly's secrets and Creed's looming illegal fight, one in which he may not walk away, there was lots of anxiety and trepidation.

Loved the storyline and of course, the relationship between the Gentry triplets just gets me every time.

Off to start Game with Chase's story which I'm curious so see play out.  And then Deck......hmmmm.....that hot bastard!  What's his story???....can't wait to find out.

4 stars for Creed and Truly's book! I really enjoy this author's writing... it's emotional, sexy and mostly about real life. I've enjoyed the Gentry Boys series so far and look forward to reading Chase's book. I know if I want a solid story about realistic characters and seriously sexy/alpha brothers I can depend on this author for just that!!
