Things are already going sideways for Zoey Rivers. Her mother, recently back from the dead, isn’t responsive, and Zoey’s dad isn’t making matters easier.

But when the Sunnyside Retirement Home for Witches’ almost-resident psychic, Iris, goes missing, apparently unable to foresee her own troubles, Zoey’s day gets a thousand times more complicated. And, of course, that’s not the end of it. The police detective seems bent on fingering a resident or staff-member for the crime.

Can Zoey figure out what really happened to Iris, bring her mom back to lucidity, and save her residents before something worse happens to all of them while juggling a brand-new romantic relationship?

If you like Charmed and stories by Nancy Warren, Mitzi Bane, and Amanda M. Lee, you will love this fourth book in the Sunnyside Retired Witches Community paranormal cozy mystery series. They’re clean, zany stories full of humor and good feelings.

I love this world! I seriously want to live and work at this community house for retired witches and other gifted people! Each character is so well defined, full of personality and humor! Gah.... I can't ever get enough.

In this story Zoey has her hands even fuller then normal. She is dealing with her semi angry father, her ellusive mother, a missing psychic, a tough police officer, a new boyfriend, and a house full of well meaning yet a bit crazy supernatural helpers/clients.

I loved the antics everyone got to in this story; and how loving and caring the members of the house tried to be. They have the best intentions even if nothing ever seems to work out quite right. The mystery was a good one and I was pleasantly surprised at the ending. I want to give you more but you just need to pick up this story for yourself.

If you've never read this series before you can read this as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the others after you finish, because they are so awesome! I can't wait to dive into the next book, this is by far my favorite cozy mystery series. I am beyond excited to have received an ARC and I am leaving an honest review.

I loved this book. This book continues from where the last book finished off and answers a lot of questions that you didn't know still needed answering, so I would recommend that you listen to book three first. I love the situations the author puts the elderly residents in and the fun and creative ways they get out of them. It is a light, fun, cosy mystery with a touch of magic that at times will have you chuckling away. The mystery was good and unfolded nicely. There was a lot of side stories that keep the plot interesting and with a strong and unique group of characters from a genie to demons to fairies to ghosts you are never sure where the story will take you next but the author has a good imagination that keeps it fresh and interesting. It is a series that I would recommend to anyone, in fact I have recommended it to my mum.
The Sunnyside retirement home is expecting for the first time a psychic resident to move in. That is until Iris disappears and the police suspect one of the elderly residents of having a hand in it. Can Zoey find her and the motive behind the disappearance? Because she is not the first psychic to have gone missing. Her predictions might not be accurate leading to a few disgruntled residents but with her life possible in the balance the elderly group set out to see what they can do to help. As it that wasn't enough, Zoey is also fighting with her father over what is the right thing to do to help her mother get over her ordeal of being a slave to a demon for years. Can she find the time to help her mother, find a group of missing psychics and keep her elderly charges out of trouble or worse, from getting hurt?
I like the narrator. She is a good choice for Zoey and her friends because she gives them all there own unique voices and this helps to bring the story to life.

Zoey Rivers is the Director of the Sunnyside Retirement Home for Witches. Her mother, recently back from the dead, isn’t responsive, and Zoey’s dad isn’t making matters easier.

Then the Home's soon-to-be-resident psychic, Iris, goes missing. After that, Zoey’s day gets a thousand times more complicated. Can Zoey stop the detective from making a resident or staff member the prime suspect? Can Zoey do all this while figuring out a new romantic relationship?

She can do that and a lot more! another fun book in this series. Love the characters and really enjoy the unusual plots. Ready to read the next one!

Missing psychics, who saw that coming? Lol

This book was another slam dunk. Zoey analyzed her feeling on several situations. I believe she even likes Iris now. This case was harder to solve. There weren't enough clues. It seemed like if they hadn't been in the right place at the right time, they never would have solved it. I think Sheriff Like needs to make Zoey & Hope honorary police officers, lol. Or in what little spare time she has Zoey should open up a detective agency. Can't wait to read the next one.

Read in one sitting

Yet another book in the Sunnyside series. I love the characters and smile each time something goes awry as is the norm in this retirement home.

Zoey Rivers, Head of Staff caring for elderly witches at the Sunnyside Retired Witches Community retirement home in Sunnyside, California, once again has her hands full with all kinds of stress! She has to deal with her angry father Marv (because his wife never asked for his help), her traumatized mother Helen (recently returned after a l-o-n-g absence when her contract with a demon expired), a missing psychic, a suspicious police officer, a new boyfriend, and the usual bunch of good-hearted souls who want to help but usually end up making things worse. Steve Grace, her right-hand second-in-command at the center and the brand-new boyfriend, stood in the doorway of the center and smirked at the residents’ discussing a band and a parade for Zoey’s mom who wasn’t even mentally responsive yet!

Zoey took Steve into her office to talk to him about her parents who were supposed to swap homes and move into Iris’ house, and Iris would live at Sunnyside as their resident psychic. But Zoey’s mom was not ready for a move yet. She was practically comatose! Her dad thinks she’s faking it for attention. And now Iris seemed to be missing. She didn’t show up for breakfast and the residents wanted to ask her to do a reading on Zoey’s mom. Then police officer Luke Kellen spoke from the doorway – Iris was officially missing and her belongings were scattered all over the house she was preparing to move into. Luke felt someone from Sunnyside had something to do with the disappearance, especially with the increase of bad things happening around Sunnyside. When Steve and Zoey listed all the residents who were a little upset with Iris’ readings, there were quite a few! But at least Luke had a direction to search now. What has happened to Iris? Who would want to harm her? With Zoey’s ex-boyfriend Doug Kim’s replacement named, they would be taking a closer look at the more dangerous paranormal residents… Zoey hoped her people had nothing to do with this!

This was a good cozy mystery that had a great cast of crazy characters, each unique and memorable. The zany goings on make for a busy story line that keeps the reader interested and chuckling often. Grab your copy and see what’s going on with Zoey’s mom and what has happened to Iris!

Another Delightful Visit to the Sunnyside Retirement Community

I think that I have read every single book in this series, and I just adore every one of them. The author has created a zany, quirky paranormal world that I love to revisit whenever a new installment comes out. What's not to like about a series centered around a retirement home for witches and other magical people? Can Zoey, the young woman who is the director of this community, keep them in line?

In this particular story, Zoey has a lot on her plate. Her mother is just only back in the land of the living but still is not responsive; her father thinks that she is just faking it. Zoey has a new love interest. But the mystery centers around a psychic who is planning to move into the community; she disappears before she can do so. Law enforcement believes that someone at the retirement community, either a resident or worker, had something to do with it. Suspects pile up as many haven’t been so happy with the psychic’s predictions. So, that is what needs to be sorted out in this particular installment.

As always, I enjoyed the characters who make up the retirement community. There is so much humor in this book because of the wonderful characters that the author has created; she has taken great pains to make so individual and relatable as well as zany. Most of these people have what I would say are good intentions, but in trying to help Zoey, they more often make a hash of it all—and quite often in hilarious ways. Since this series now has several books, we have gotten to know some of these characters over time, so reading the book is like visiting your crazy friends; you just know it will be insane but a lot of fun. I totally would like to be the director of this community; you would never be bored! While the novel is a part of a series, it can definitely be read as a standalone, although you will get much more from it if you start reading the series at the beginning. If you like paranormal cozy mysteries with humor and an exceptionally well-drawn cast of characters, you might enjoy this series as much as I do.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Zoey, the manager of the retirement centre for witch, and its kooky residents are up to their ears in a new cozy mystery. There is so much going on as the author wove together the mystery of a missing clairvoyant, the budding romance and the interplay between Zoey and her family into a great cozy mystery. The writing is wonderful and interesting, keep the readers in suspense until the end. I like this series, the characters and the writing, I can hardly wait until their is a new book.

Iris, the psychic, was packing up and getting ready to move next door into Sunnyside Retirement Home for Witches, when she disappeared, leaving behind some knocked over boxes and stuff. So it was pretty obvious that she did not up and run off, but more likely was forcibly taken. The retirees (and Zoey of course) were not prepared to let this one go. Iris was one of their friends and although she was not a particularly good psychic, they had all been looking forward to her coming to stay. And with the police implying that the Community had something to do with it...… no chance were they siting back and letting it go.

I love this series, with all the quirky, zany and loveable characters that inhabit the retirement home. Such a fun read! 5 stars of course and looking forward to the next one.

Zoey had grown up essentially without both her parents. Until her recent rescue from demon possession, she thought her mom was dead due to her dark magic practices. The anger her father carried kept him closed off from her.

Still damaged from the demon possession, Zoey is faced with a mostly catatonic mom. Dad Marv seems determined to take her mom somewhere else. In his mind, he is trying to protect both Zoey and her mom. His efforts to separate the two are putting Zoey, her job, the residents of the home and possibly the town all at risk.

Iris the not so great psychic appears to be missing. Could it be something dark at work - certainly not the retirement home residents. Probably not them anyways.

Love is tricky, and messy.

Powerful KU read!

Sunnyside Retired Witches Community is a really good series. Each book can be read as a stand alone, but does progress forward. Events from previous books are referenced and having read them does help with the reading of this story. Is it 100 percent necessary? No, but the stories are entertaining and I do recommend them.

This book made me chuckle multiple times. The story line is easy to follow. The characters are a real hoot. The detailed descriptions area easy to visualize.

Written as a 3rd person, single pov.

Would I recommend this book? Yes

Zoey Rivers (Director of Staff) and the Sunnyside Retired Witches Community home residents have another mystery to solve. Just when Iris the psychic from next door is set to move in, she disappears and it appears to be by force. If that wasn’t enough Zoey is dealing with her parents; one is a bit angry and the other is elusive. This is not what her budding romance needs. When the police officer in charge accuses Iris disappearance on someone from Sunnyside, Zoey is in for more than she can handle.

This is a paranormal cozy mystery with lots of zany characters, humor, madcap adventure, and a storyline that keeps you both entertained and hopping.

Poor Zoey. She has a lot to contend with: her new relationship with Steve, Luke acting strange (wait for his reason why), missing Iris - their new resident who is a psychic?, her father and their relationship, and the biggest one the reappearance of her mother and her current state and all that goes with that.

The residents are up to their usual crazy helpfulness:
A+ for thinking of helping someone in need
A+ for having a plan to accomplish goal
F for execution of plan

I read it in a day, Nice short read. Fun and easy to read. Can be read by itself but better if read the series for character development.

This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.

Zoey Rivers is in charge of the residents at Sunnyside retirement home for witches. When a good friend, a psychic named Iris (who is planning to move into the retirement home) goes missing, Zoey, Steve and all the retirees pitch in to help find her. Toss in Zoey’s unresponsive mother and a fun cast of other characters and you have a truly great read. Best read if other books in the series have been read. I love this series.

Zoey again has to manage her well-meaning but somewhat out-of-control residents when they try to find their missing friend Iris. On top of that, she's worried about her near-catatonic mother and her father's plan to move her somewhere else. Definitely has her hands full, but loves her residents and they will do just about anything for her. Smart and level-headed, she perseveres with the help of friends and employees, and all is right again at the end. Until the next adventure, anyway.

I truly enjoy this series. The residents are always up to something that adds to the fun and antics of each day. Although I do wonder about the stress level of Zoey. Not only does Zoey have to deal with stress at work with her residents, but also in her personal life. Of all that happens within then look, the author constantly makes me wonder and try to figure things out on my own before Zoey does. I do enjoy books that do that.

Iris was to become Sunnyside's psychic and Zoey's parents were to move back into their house - but things are never that simple. iris disappears - what has happened to her? And the other missing psychics? And how will Zoey manage to unlock her mother's mind? Helen has been almost catatonic since her return, and Zoey is desperate to save her. Will she succeed in saving both the psychics and her mother?

After finishing this book, with happy tears gathering in my eyes, I have to say that this was the best one yet of the series. What an incredible journey! Not only was the mystery of the missing psychics attention grabbing, but the issues with her mother and father had me on the edge of my seat just waiting for the outcome. The ending for both was fantastic!

I always enjoy visiting Zoey and Sunnyside. Such a motley crew. Full of fun, humor and quirky characters. Throw in a missing psychic and lots of motives. That add up to a lot of suspects. And of course parents that can be a bit much and a little bit of love. It all spells for some good fun reading.
