For a long time now, I have been a Moon Magick Witch. For those of you who may not know what that means, that means that I use the guidance and the Intuitive Leadings of the Moon to guide and inform my Ritual Work and SpellCraft. For myself and for my clients.
"Lunar Alchemy: Every Moon Magic to Transform Your Life," by THE Shaheen Miro, is not the usual book of Moon Magick with spells and rituals. In fact, there are very few spells and rituals.
However, there is a great deal of information about one's Inner Moon; how our Inner Moon can be just as powerful as the Moon in the sky.
For example, there are times when the Moon may be waxing from New to, say, a first quarter Moon, but my mindset and behavior may be more along the lines of a Moon that is from third quarter the Dark (in my Magickal tradition, the "Dark Moon Tides" are the three nights before the New Moon). During that time, I may feel like spending more time by myself, engaging in Meditation, Prayer, journal writing, taking naps, taking more baths, etc.
Shaheen Miro also talks about the Alchemical process, and focuses on four specific Lunar Phases: Waning Moon, New Moon, Waxing Moon, Full Moon.
He also lists recommended activities for the aforementioned Lunar Phases, journal prompts, as well as Tarot Cards that correspond to such Lunar Phases, as well as cards from his own "The Lunar Nomad Oracle." Yes, I also have his Oracle Card Deck, which I purchased because I feel it would help me get more out of reading his book.
For the record, one is not required to buy both; in fact, I had asked him about this on his Instagram page, not too long after his "Lunar Alchemy" book was published. Indeed, one can work with one OR the other, but having both makes using both a richer experience, in my not at all humble opinion.
If you are looking for yet another book of Moon Magick spells and rituals, this is NOT the book for you, but if you are looking for a book that can give you greater insight on both the Moon in the sky, as well as your own Inner Moon, then this book shall be a pleasure to read, work with and savor, time and again.

Overall, I found the meditation ideas/prompts helpful and somewhat inspiring, as well as some of the background info about each cycle of the moon and what they represent. At the outset, the book offers an interesting framework for manifesting intention and releasing things you don't need, but the narration was fraught with lots of unnecessary and baseless jargon that I can't help but think the author made up. Again, some of the meditation ideas and methods for releasing tension/setting intention were helpful, but this book mainly seems like a self-indulgent work on the authors' part and I don't stake much truth in his worldview overall.

A signed copy of book was given to me as part of a giveaway Shaheen hosted, and it honestly brings me such peace. Lunar Alchemy is a book I will return to again and again, just to see what I learn each time. I think of Charlemagne's line in A Knight's Tale, "he spent a year in silence just to better understand the sound of a whisper". There will be times this book speaks louder than others, and different messages I may hear when I am ready. I often found myself too relaxed reading it before bed, and often falling asleep with it in my hands. I recommend reading it through once in its entirety, then returning to the journaling prompts and moon phases as needed.

I really enjoyed reading this book and following the exercises as they were easy to get through and It gave me a lot to think on and reflect. This book just happened to be a good motivation to get into a better routine and work with myself to be better.

This book means so much to me. An excellent resource into understanding the intricacies of the Moon and how it intersects with our own lives and magic.
