For Megan Drew, the arrival of 1800 brought Christian Blackmore back into her life, when he became guardian to her niece, Sophie. Megan had expected to marry Christian, only for him to marry an heiress. Both of them had changed, although Megan still loved Christian beyond words.
Anne Ashley was born in Leicester, England, UK, where she was educated. She lived for a long time in Scotland, but she now lives in the West Country, England, with her husband, two sons and two cats. She writes historical romances for Mills & Boon since 1997.
After living in India for several years, Christian has returned to England to serve as guardian to his friends now orphaned daughter. Along with making Sophie comfortable in his home, the Moor House, he hopes her beloved aunt Megan will be agreeable to reacquaint herself with him as she is the only woman he has ever loved. Seven years prior when he was deeply in love with Megan, his father summoned him to London and found himself married two weeks later to a despicable spoiled woman that he had no feelings of affection.
Upon seeing the handsome Christian after all these years, Megan steels herself against the feelings she knows are buried but not gone...the fact that she still loves him after all these years. She has agreed to accompany Sophie to the Moor House if only to see her niece settled in the care of Christian. She doesn't realize that what seemed like a careless move on her brothers part to remove Sophie from her care was really an attempt to bring Christian back into Megans life as he knows she will never love another man.
Promosso!
