Danger and betrayal lurk at the Academy around every corner, and the murderer we’ve been looking for finally has a face.

Too bad it's a face I've come to love.

Nothing has ever been what it seems at Triton’s Academy, and I don’t know what to believe anymore. Professor Elara’s lies leave me reeling, but there are more important matters at hand.

Triton’s Olympic Games are upon us, and they’re nothing like we imagined.

They push our bodies, minds, and spirits to the breaking point. Only the strongest will survive the brutal battles of the Gods. My men and I were chosen by them for a reason, and we won't give up. I won't give up because Atlantis needs a change… and I plan on giving it one.

This is so disappointing. I really loved the first two books and I was really hoping to love the third. Unfortunately that is not what happened and I could not finish the book. Anyways into my likes and dislikes.

• I really liked the plot. I liked the direction it was going in and was looking forward to getting some answers.

•I loved all of the characters. The FMC had determination like no other and continued to grow her character. The men were also interesting. They weren’t spectacular but good enough (and no insta-love).

• The first thing I really disliked was the cheating. The FMC started sleeping with other men (without her boyfriends permission) in the second book, but I was willing to give her a pass as she said she would work on it in the future. That didn’t actually happen. She added two more guys into the relationship without talking to anyone. There may also be a third added into the relationship without discussion.

•How old are they? What are they? Are they in the modern world? Are there humans outside of Atlantis? What gods do they worship? What powers do they have? Where does this power come from? These are only some of the questions I still have after reading three books.

Overall this was an OK series but I could not get over the cheating. That was my biggest problem with this book.

Triton's Legacy is the third and final installment of the A Daughter of Triton series. In it, you are still following the same people. The only difference is we are finally seeing what the games are like. Long story short, they are not games I grew up with or would play. Mostly because they aren't even games unless the whole point is to not die. Which, yes, I would definitely die if a creature came out of nowhere and killed me.

Other than that, the harem romance is definitely getting better, and everyone is sort of accepting the whole sharing is caring room. Within themselves that is. No more outsiders can join their little harem club. Of course, we still have to figure out who is behind all the murders and stuff but whatever.

The big reveal(s) weren't really that shocking. I mean, if you read all the clues throughout this series correctly you would know who was behind it all. That being said, I did snort when they met karma. It just needed to happen, but I wanted more bloodshed if I'm being honest here.

In the end, I feel like the epilogue was just okay. We don't get that much information other than them having jobs and new schools are being opened up for orphans. I was definitely hoping for more progress in their relationship.

“Women were supposed to be soft, delicate, caring. I was these things. I worked hard at them; at being a gentle, comforting breeze. But I was also a storm. I was a clash of water and fire, of lightning and roiling waves. It lived within me when it wasn’t supposed to. And I loved it.”

📚

Okay so I frickin LOVED these books!!!!!!!! I really wanted something that could be a bit more light hearted after reading quite a few dark books recently and although there were quite a few super intense scenes this book was also HILARIOUS! I swear the characters in these three books were some of my favourites ever!! Calliopes men were just the best; brooding Rafe, manic Maksim, golden boy Ambrose, mysterious Zathrian and the evil asshole that is Vitas. I swear I want a bestie/lover like Maksim, he provided this book with some of the most incredible one liners that really had my wiping tears of laughter.
Calliope herself, gah, I’ve never read a stronger FMC in a book and she just reached into the feminist in me and had me rooting for her from the get go. This incredible story was of a strong willed woman trying to make her way in a mans world and I know we all know how that feels amiright. It really was a great all round trilogy and a pleasant read that had me hooked page after page!
I also loved all of the poems at the start of each book - I’m a sucker for a good authors note at the start of a book and having Nikita Gill in there did NOT disappoint😩

📚 •
“I am strong because I am inherently myself. I am a storm against ships, the thunder and lightning in the sky. I can rage and destroy, I can be calm and soothing. Yes, I am a woman. But I am going to be a Daughter of Triton.” (Goosebumps or what?!?!)

A bit disappointed in this. They threw in a whole Olympic game and then rushed through it. I'm not sure why we got Vitos POV when he wasn't even in the harem. He was always attracted to her and changed his ways during this book. But I don't understand the point of that storyline. I wish we actually got to see them finish out the school instead of skipping to five years later. Meh

While the ending and epilogue weren’t as extensive, or in the future as I’d have liked, I really enjoyed this entire series. Calliope finally earns the respect she deserves and not just from her peers but the entire Kingdom. After being the only girl ever chosen to attend the academy, her also being chosen as an elite warrior who must endure a lot more intense training is an even bigger deal.
The guys were all really accepting of being her harem. I’m not gonna lie I’m pretty shocked by their immediate acceptance especially as she never seemed to talk about adding more members before jumping into bed with them. It kinda felt like cheating and she’s lucky they’re all so understanding and this didn’t add more unnecessary drama to her life. Wasn’t all that surprised (ok not at all surprised) by the climax which is why I’d have preferred a more extensive epilogue.

”I’d always wondered why Triton had chosen me. I thought it was for a grander scheme of things. Maybe I wouldn’t fight wars like I’d thought. Maybe my fate was something so much simpler. Like accepting a flower from a young girl and inspiring her to change the world.”

This book was one surprise after another. First Elara! Maksim! Vitas! and then Elara once more. And y'all THAT ENDING! I did not even expect half of the plot to happen, and I love that. I don't want this story to be over. I've loved every installment and can say I'll miss Calliope. I only wish it hadn't felt so ephemeral.

4.5 stars.

This is a great trilogy. The author got me hooked with Queenie and the Kraken and these books are just as addictive. I love the merfolk lore. It’s one I read often enough but Ceres does it different.

There were a few things that had me on the ropes but this series was fun, adventurous and something I couldn’t put down once I picked them up.

Great read.

Wow! What an epic book. The games were definitely the highlight and I loved how exciting they were to read. The story just built up to an amazing ending and I just wanna reread the whole series again and again! Aleera doesn't disappoint with this showstopper of a book! I loved the energy and dynamic of all the characters. Beautiful take on the Atlantis mythology!

Triton's legacy

An action packed conclusion to this series. The climactic revelation of the murderer and the additional surprise confession will leave you reeling! I'm still stunned. The redemption of Vidas is one of the highlights of this book. All in all enjoyed this book.

Couldn’t stop reading

I read the whole trilogy in two days even though I work 12-hours on 3rd shift. I kept reading, hell this is embarrassing, but I even snuck away from my coworkers to read for a good 30-minutes in the restroom! The fucking excuses I came up with were outrageous on why I was gone so long.

But guess what? I still have my job and I was able to finish this AMAZING series.

I’d read it again if I wasn’t so damn tired and had to work in six hours aha. Hats off to the author! I originally ready the Academy of Six series and found this as a suggestion, I’m not typically a mermaid/merman inspired reader but the professor(damn I wish I could put this in italics) converted me.

I can’t wait to read other books/series this author has published! Please continue to write, your characters are contagious and delightful!

Definitely recommend this book! Cal is amazingly strong and independent. The guys all have their own part to play in the books.

This whole series was so good!! Watching Cal grow, and watching the development of her relationships was awesome!
I liked the weird/awkward vibe that Maks had during sex scenes(it really showcased his personality) and how each character was different and had depth. Seeing how everything came together was good.

This was a great ending to an amazing series.

Great read

This series sucked me right in and didn’t let me go. The struggles calliope had to go through to get her happy ever after left me enthralled with each turn of the page. Fantastic plot which kept me guessing until the end. Definite five star read

I feel a bit disappointed epilogue wise like you dont get updates on all the characters and there relationship is exactly the same 4 years later like id expect some sort of progression and like did dimos? Whatever wake up and did that hoe bag die for her crimes? like we dont get much of a real epilogue or satisfying end...the big bad was obvious af and like other than a real basic job mention for all 4 men and cal theres like fuck all else. Like are there females in the academy now? surely theyd have her teach a class on how to take advantage of the female traits to be a good protector that the men dont have like? Idk it felt rushed and lackluster and shallow feeling wise... id paused the series like mid first book in the you first like first years chosen for the games scene and i was able to enjoy and pick it back up after like idk 6 months or a year anyway a good while and read the aecond book with ease cause a lot was actually happening in all areas but the third book it just sorta gave up and there was lots of angst and very little fun and idk overall i like the series concept i like the FMC the general plot was cool but idk i wish they showed more of the fun cool atlantis aide od stuff cause it just felt like a magic academy vs like fish people in some sort of sanctioned off from the rest of the world in what im assuming is wonder woman style which is weird cause theyve got this military esque society and yet like who exactly are they protecting themselves from i mean what exactly is so dangerous or threatening it wouldve been better if the baddies were working with outside big bads or something with world building and less just obvious boring sexist hatred like... it doesnt feel like a win plot wise or romance wise and given that the end had a god show up thank fuck btw like ive been waiting for aome actual action on that front yet it was lame like could you have not popped your arse down earlier? And id you were going to like cool ypu punished one person and healed another but what about cal the person who was basically the tool of change used and abused when la fuckwit couldve just popped down earlier and prevented that bs like surely she deserves a reward like some sort of gift or power or better yet pop her into whatever their leadwrship role is likw who is even i charge of this society cause the sons are thw only authority fogure exvept the crazy priest who also ypu saw fuck all of you wouldve thought the god wouldve said shit to him or made the sexist pricks punished for framing cal or ruining her chance at education or idk being like you have 4 boyfriends because you were blessed by the goddess of love or amphrite or whoever the fuck like i now polyamory is a thing for old gods which was legit mentioned and never rementioned but like ? Idk this whole thing needed more family unit character scenes that wasnt fighting and more world building and if youre gonna fast forward 4 years i want details various pov epilogues ans multiple epilogues like 4 years 6 8 10 years etc not just 4 years later we all have different jobs barely see eachother and my dads still pissed i have men who love me in relationship 4 years later but what that relationship is ? Like could you not of had them married in their own home maybe they all have maternity and paternity leave and are reminiscing about all thats happened since god guy and all the changes and maybe its like the atlanteam christmas although fuck knows what if amy holidays they celebrate and rafes aiblings could be there and friends and idk maksims parents saying their proud of him and idk fucking general calliope could have her training "daughters" unit there as friends etc like maybe the oracle would decide to pop by for a naming blessing or something for said babies and say a prophecy like a little shit stirrer instead and leave a lead into another series in this world for future opportunities like. Give me some carrot and lay off the stick puhlease.

I was so impressed by this series. Admittedly, I might be overly impressed just because all the other books I’ve read lately have been so bad. This series is definitely worth the reread.

I’m not going to wax on about everything I liked in this book, there are enough reviews that do that. The only thing I really didn’t like was the epilogue. The epilogue was trash. The book would have been better without it.

*low/medium steam - the author wasn’t very good at sex scenes, a lot of them were quite awkward. I think (and I can’t believe I’m saying this) that this book would have been better without sex… I know, I know it’s shocking. But there weren’t many sex scenes anyways. There was only one group sex scene and I was ready to kick Maks out of the harem for making everything weird. Also (and this is gross, but I’m just going to say it) WTF is up with the author’s obsession with having the males suck on the FMC’s vaginal lips constantly? Is that actually pleasurable to anyone?

*Slow build harem
*Mystery with some suspense
*Bullying from outside the harem
*No OW drama
*Professor/student
*Academy RH
*All MC’s are in their 20’s
*Trials (the trials were super short and not as hard as I was expecting)

Okay, so one other small thing…the harem could have used some work. They never felt like a unit. It always felt like the Professor was on the outside and we only see him once with the rest of the guys. Ambrose and Zarik (Zaire?Zalron? Whatever) never really got along either, though I guess they stopped being enemies. Anyways, I wish the epilogue at least showed them coming together better instead of dividing more.

Left wanting more

So I really enjoyed this series but this book has definitely left me wanting more of Calli’s story. I don’t think the ending was necessarily rushed or left loose ends but I do think the ending could have been expanded more. Especially with their lives as The Elites and working together with the others.

Vitas, alright I know I said I hated him in the last 2 books and I had hoped he wouldn’t have a redemption arc but I am glad he did now. The author wrote his redemption in a great way that allowed me to start to like him as a character. His redemption didn’t involve Calli falling into bed with him and professing love which I was worried that would happen and it would have completely turned me off from Calli as a strong female character. Honestly, he’s the main reason I wanted to read a more detailed and expanded ending so I could see how his relationship with Calli and her men are now that he is striving to be unlike his father. I think the POV chapters from his perspective helped his character gain my favor.

Overall, this was a fun series that has ultimately left me wanting more. I would love to read a novella where we can revisit all the characters and see how their world is changing for the better.

Triton's Legacy

Spoilers in review:
This review is for the whole series. The story is set in mythical Atlantis where, after it was sunk, the Gods preserved the people by turning them into shifter merpersons who devote their life to worshiping various gods and protecting the secrecy of Atlantis. They have a social structure that sets standards for women as homemakers and men as warriors. Our heroine is the beloved daughter of a warrior general and raised by an extreme traditionalist aunt in his absence. She dreams of being a warrior and is selected by the gods to be the first female at the elite, all male, Triton academy, much to the horror of her aunt and others like her. The series traces her time during her first year at this academy. Lots of trials and tribulations occur. Throughout the three books, she manages to collect enamored men until she has four in her harem. I love a good rh adventure, but this one isn't well developed. She just seems to collect men along the way with little relationship building. Then at the end they are all still "together" but physically stationed apart? The basic academy plot was fine, but the romance was forced. Several editing glitches but not as bad as some.

Where this series started and where it ended were VERY different from what I was expecting. This book really sealed this series fate for me. The first book started off strong, but I think this one was the weakest instalment in the series. The story felt SO rushed and like the author was bored writing the story and was more invested in the smut (which is great for the record). The Olympics section was so rushed and hard to follow what was happening, like did they throw in a second second game to compensate for the first try at it? I thought there was only supposed to be 3 games?
I also really wish there was more, ending in their first year at the school and then doing a final chapter 5 years in the future made me a little sad that I didn't get to go through more of their story.

In conclusion, I wish the pacing of the last two books had been slowed down, covered more time, and allowed for a coherent story to complement the wonderful smut.

Meh the ending felt so rushed I guess I am just used to multiple books for academic tropes that this caught me off guard. I would have never forgiven Vitus he tried to kill her and regularly put hands on her.

I am happy she got ending with her little harem and I’m happy it all worked out and I am even happier that she didn’t end up with Vitus.

Why even introduce Dimos if she wasn’t going to end up with him and even damn near kill him just to never speak of him again??

I am happy to admit that I was wrong about her father and her teacher but man could they not have been a little more forthcoming?

Professor creed was unhinged from the beginning and I honestly just knew something was seriously wrong with him..like come on now it truly isn’t this deep.

I am happy that triton stepped in to handle business but jesus he could have popped up sooner no? All those kids dead and for what?? Senseless

I probably wouldn’t read this series again but it was still enjoyable.

I enjoyed this final instalment although I still felt there were some unanswered questions, like what was the verdict with the Aunty, what happened with Vitas in the epilogue timeline, his growing feelings, his relationship with his father, how were Rafes family going at the epilogue time, and more specifically Ana? Also, what was with the fabric fibre that the professor found? It seemed important at the time, but then we heard nothing? And then there was the poor guy who almost died and was in the infirmary. Did he come out if it? Why was he significant? I enjoyed how the storyline panned out in the end and how they all came together.

That was a wild ride! I’ve gotta day i enjoyed it a lot!! Some things I wasn’t super happy with, like how long it took for Maks.. I sorta felt like they were strictly friends then suddenly they were more..Feel like that could’ve been hinted at or built up more, like, Cal thinking about him a certain way ya know?
And also, I got a bit mad when that Damios (did I get that name right?) guy was sorta flirting with her and she seemed to enjoy it?!!
And lastly, I thought Vitas was going to join the harem..and I had mixed feelings about it tbh.

But besides that, I really liked this story! Calliope was great!! And her men, Rafe, Elara, Maks and Ambrose! Enjoyed them too ;)

Decent conclusion to the series. I didn't like how Cal kept on adding to her harem without talking to her men: very selfish and usually a breaking point for any relation yet here it happened almost without complaint. I hoped the men would come together as a unit more. Though some relations grew stronger, as a harem they have a long way to go.

The epilogue detracted from the story as it was only about lust not love and it didn't really provide answers to remaining questions (what happened with Dimus, what is the relation between FMC and Vitas, what happened to the family, what about the prophecy...)

The first book started off so promising and enjoyable, unfortunately for me it started taking a turn during the 2nd book and by the third, well I just couldn't finish it. The harem and how the FMC added them did nothing for me, its cheating. She's a cheater, plain and simple!.... and her men just allowed it. Like ok they're angry and all but that's it? Really!? Sorry but I like my fictional godly bodied males to be sooo much more possessive than that thank you....Yeah, Not my cup of tea so ended around 40% of the 3rd book.

Good Fantasy Read 😍

My only complaint is I wish there was more throughout the story on the world itself and about the Old Gods. I felt like it could have been incredible with more world building. I loved the characters, and I loved the communication throughout. Even the redemption. It just felt very sped through and I think they could have built up certain parts and it would have been 10/5 stars. Can’t wait to read more from this author.

Rushed

This series was perfect, I could not put it down. Although, this book was probably my least favorite as everything felt rushed. We had two books leading up to the Olympics only for the third book to rush through it. I did love how Vitas redeemed himself, though it did she like he could have been the Fifth. I wouldn't have minded that being a part of his redemption.
With all that said, I am glad I gave this series a try because I truly did love it.
