Believing in Christ, or following, Christ is not enough. You must repent in grief and godly sorrow for your wrongdoing against God. Other than that, this is a fantastic story. Very enjoyable.
I really like reading Beverly Lewis. Thank you Bookers for giving me this as my prize for doing 30 books on my challenge. I don't usually like reading number 2 before number 1 but this one was as good as a stand alone. They tell about number 1 in such a way you can know what has happened before. The book is called the timepiece and one would think it is referring to the father's pocket watch, which has a history of its own. It also is a book about time in the sense of past, present, and future. It deals with the joy of new found sister hood, and the legacy of family.
Beverly Lewis get better and better each new book. Secrets can bite back as the father of this Amish family discovers and then experiences the "bann." The upside is they all meet a an expanded family...
I actually wanted this book to be longer or to have a sequel! The pace was too fast and not enough details in the last third of the book! It felt like a lot of things got left out and I was interested to see more of the relationship between Sylia and Adeline develop.
