Bestselling author Cara Putman returns with a romantic legal thriller that will challenge the assumptions of truth tellers everywhere.

Savannah Daniels has worked hard to build her law practice, to surround herself with good friends, and to be the loyal aunt her troubled niece can always count on. But since her ex-husband’s betrayal, she has trouble trusting anyone.

Jett Glover’s father committed suicide over a false newspaper report that ruined his reputation. Now a fierce champion of truth, Jett is writing the story of his journalism career—an international sex-trafficking exposé that will bring down a celebrity baseball player and the men closest to him, including Savannah’s ex-husband.

When Jett’s story breaks, tragedy ensues. Then a commercial airline crashes, and one of Savannah’s clients is implicated in the crash. Men connected to the scandal, including her ex, begin to die amid mysterious circumstances, and Savannah’s niece becomes an unwitting target.

Against their better instincts, Jett and Savannah join ranks to sort the facts from fiction. But can Savannah trust the reporter who threw her life into chaos? And can Jett face the possibility that he’s made the biggest mistake of his life?

FLIGHT RISK by Cara C. Putman is a well-written and intense legal thriller with a touch of romance. It is also my first book by this author. Savannah Daniels owns her own law firm, has great friends, and supports her niece when it’s needed. Jett Glover is a journalist who seeks out the truth. When his story on human-trafficking breaks, tragedy occurs and it affects Savannah both personally and professionally.

The main characters are compelling and had great depth. Their motivations seem believable with realistic actions and emotions. The secondary characters were well-rounded and enhanced the story rather than detracting from it. The internal and external conflicts were well defined and believable. The stakes were high and Ms. Putman certainly made this a page turner.

The prose was engrossing, absorbing and compulsively readable. The plot was suspenseful, heartbreaking, fast-paced, thought-provoking and insightful. There were two story lines that became entangled with lots of twists and turns. The ending was satisfying, but bittersweet. It was difficult to put this book down.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and look forward to reading her Hidden Justice Series as well as any new books featuring Savannah and Jett. If you enjoy suspense, intrigue, and a bit of romance, then I recommend that you check out this novel and see if you enjoy it as much as I did.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Thanks to Thomas Nelson—FICTION and Cara C. Putman for an ARC of this novel via NetGalley and the opportunity to provide an honest review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and are not biased in any way.

FLIGHT RISK by Cara C. Putnam is a new romantic suspense with a hero, heroine and plot that make it impossible to put down!

Savannah Daniels has worked hard to build a prospering law firm filled with trusted and loyal friends since her divorce fifteen years ago. Savannah has trouble trusting since her ex-husband’s betrayal, but she would do anything for her young niece, her sister and ex-husband’s daughter.

Jett Glover is a newspaper man fiercely dedicated to only writing the truth. His father committed suicide when Jett was just twelve years old after a reporter ruined his reputation with false reporting. Jett feels like he has the story of his career, a famous baseball player and three others are all implicated in an international sex trafficking ring. He has checked all his facts and his expose is printed.

The printing of Jett’s story and a commercial airplane crash somehow tied to two of Savannah’s clients are colliding with the start of the murder of the men implicated in Jett’s article. One of those men is Savannah’s ex-husband. Can Jett and Savannah trust each other enough to work together to discover the killer? Will the truth of Jett’s article be the whole truth?

I read this book from start to finish in one sitting. Savannah is such a strong and intelligent heroine, who is giving to everyone, except herself. She is so wonderful to her niece, even with her personal heartbreak and betrayal. Jett is wonderful at accepting Savannah as she is, but he wants her to let him in and trust him. This is a cozy romance with no sex, but a growing relationship based on learning to trust again. All of the characters in this story are fully fleshed and realistic.

The plot is fast-paced and continued to surprise me with several twists and red herrings. The author had my emotions all over the place and they were intricately intertwined with the characters and plot. This is listed as a Christian thriller besides being a romantic suspense. There are a few places where Savannah prays for strength or guidance, but it is never out of character for her or an interruption to the flow of the story.

I highly recommend this romantic suspense and I cannot wait to read more of this author’s books!

Filled with suspense, heart-wrenching moments and a reminder of the power of words to hurt, betray and mislead. When journalist Jett Glover creates a “thoroughly” fact-checked expose, he discovers that even as a warrior for truth he can make mistakes and they can be deadly.

Savannah Daniels, a successful attorney, becomes enmeshed in a heartbreaking drama when her ex-husband is “exposed” as a child trafficker, thanks to Jett. Now she is affected in both a personal and painful way, as she refuses to believe the man she once loved could be such a vile monster. It didn’t help that she finds herself attracted to the reporter, who proves he is as dedicated to the truth as he was his byline above the fold.

Well written, filled with strong character development and a plot that will pierce every emotion, this is as much an indictment against slanted journalism as it is a cry for restraint on invading personal privacy because of the ramifications that cannot be forgotten. The truth will set you free, unless it is too late.

FLIGHT RISK by Cara Putman is a gripping read that will hold one’s attention from start to finish.

I received a complimentary ARC edition from Thomas Nelson Fiction. This is my honest and voluntary review.

I love Cara Putman's Hidden Justice series. I was over the moon excited when I saw she had a new book coming out and jumped at the chance to read it. Putman has a wonderful writing style that is easy and fast paced to read. I love how she makes you feel all the emotions between love, romance, danger and intrigue and does so in a tasteful manner. She tackles some tough subject matter in Flight Risk with human trafficking and does so in a way that shows dignity and that good can overcome evil when we have God at the center of our lives. I personally love that she is not afraid to write about that!!

This book can be read as a stand alone book. However, like the other books in the series, the storyline is jam packed with action, extremely strong, complex characters and the strength of faith to work through your struggles. It's an engaging book I'm sure you will enjoy. Once you read this one, you will want to read the others in this series. Very excited to see more work from this author. Highly recommend!!!

My thanks to Cara Putman, Thomas Nelson Publishing and netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I have enjoyed this series that features a group of young women, friends who are attorneys living in Washington, DC. Flight Risk is the story about their mentor, Savannah Daniels. She has gradually encouraged some of the young women to join her law firm where they each have a different specialty and yet are a close knit group of women who work together to help each other out professionally as well as personally. Savannah is turning forty as the story starts out but it isn't such a fun day when her ex-husband Dustin Tate is featured in a newspaper article in a negative story to suggest some bad moral choices. Savannah can't believe it is true and Dustin insists it isn't. Dustin and Savannah's sister had a daughter as a result of a fling fourteen years ago. Savannah is very close to her niece and cares for her while her sister deals with her own issues.
When tragedy strikes and events amp up, Savannah works with the reporter Jett Glover to find answers. She is also working with clients on a case that might somehow tie in with events going on.
This story has suspense, danger, and mystery while interspersed with faith, overcoming old hurts, and some romance. I enjoyed reading Savannah's emotional story with real, believable characters and a great setting.
I received a complimentary ARC from Thomas Nelson Publishing through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.

A solid suspense story with a dual mystery: a plane crash and a journalist writing about a group of American men connected to child trafficking in Thailand.

I really enjoyed getting to Savannah’s story at last. She’s been a strong side character in previous novels but now she gets her own. Jett, a journalist and a new character in the series, publishes a seriously damaging story about her ex and lands with both feet in the ensuing chaos in her life. He thought he was doing a good article but his boss rushed him to publish before he got the final confirmations, and now the story’s made a terrible mess.

The bad guy was seriously cracked but the article was just the flame to set off a crime spree of one-man “justice”...can Jett and Savannah survive the aftermath?

Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for a free reading copy. A favorable review was not required. Review was based on a final copy.

A gripping thriller with convoluted plots where some of the reveals were big shockers as I didn't ever expect the links between them. The author was quite wicked in the way she connected the storyline.

Savannah was an attorney who was dedicated to her job and committed to loving her niece. Dustin was her ex and her niece's father. Yeah yeah, being a man, he made many mistakes. One of them was hooking up with her sister. Jett a newspaper journalist broke out the headline news about 4 men and their time in Thailand. One of them was Dustin. A plane crashes and Savannah's clients were subpoenaed. Savannah and Jett join forces to solve the mysteries and murders.

My first book by author Cata Putman, and it was all systems go from the first page. The story was action packed with something new every few chapters. Suspense was buildt up insidiously, and like a surpent coiled, it releases its thrill in the last few pages with the final truth.

The story was detailed, and the subplots well linked. The author kept the pace rocking and there was always a nibble or two that made me come back to my kindle after each of my chore.

It was captivating, it was twisty. It had emotions and rocking suspense. A complete page turner.

FTC Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book. These are my honest thoughts.

The title of this book was misleading to me. I was expecting a person to be a flight risk, to be a risk to go on the run from the law, but that never came up at all. It was more about technology instead. Nothing wrong with that, but it wasn’t at all what I was expecting.

The tech involved was pretty interesting. It would be great if something like it were applied in reality (and maybe there already is), because I think it would be helpful to investigators to better understand what goes wrong on flights that crash. In the early pages, it felt repetitive to the point of annoyance on what Mnemosyne’s goal was. It would have been helpful to have a pronunciation hint on the name of the company, though. Its cofounders were written well. I was kept delightfully off-kilter with their personalities and goals and what information they were willing to disclose to their lawyer. I really enjoyed their scenes and highly anticipated their next ones.

This book is definitely related to the Hidden Justice series. It should have been labeled Hidden Justice #4, because it’s about the leading member of the law firm we got to know in that series. I’m not sure why this book was published as a “stand-alone,” because I would have felt like I’d missed a whole lot of stuff if I hadn’t read the first three books before reading this one, especially when the other members in the friend group were mentioned and showed up in several scenes.

To me, this was a slow-burn mystery rather than a fast-paced suspense. When I pick up a suspense book, I want action-packed speed to the chapters. That isn’t at all what I got with this book. Things picked up a little in the back half, but it didn’t at any time have me on the edge of my seat. However, I still enjoyed this story to a degree and want to read the next book in the Hidden Justice series, Lethal Intent, to find out what happens to the firm and its lawyers next.

The romance in this one was difficult for me. There didn’t seem to be much chemistry between Savannah and Jett, so that whole aspect was pretty lost on me. I saw and appreciated Jett’s chivalry. That was really sweet and all, but their beginning as mortal enemies was written so strongly that I couldn’t believe they’d actually come around to tolerate one another, let alone to actually love each other. I wanted it to work, and I’m glad it did, but I just felt disconnected from it. One reason might have been because Savannah still held on to some feelings for her ex-husband after being divorced for over 15 years. That seemed like a really long time to still pine for a guy she used to love but currently claimed she despised. I didn’t understand why she still loved him or why she would toy with another man’s affections if she did still harbor love for her ex. I did enjoy her red-dress moments, though. Very special stuff right there.

Savannah’s love for her niece was incredible. This aspect pulled through very strongly. I admired that Savannah was a rock for her niece when her sister and brother-in-law couldn’t be. This complex relationship felt raw and vulnerable and natural and realistic all rolled into one.

Addy was great. She was my favorite character, because her emotions were written so well. In every scene she was in, it was clear her heart was on her sleeve. Every reaction, every attitude, every moment was so spot-on with her. She’s the one who kept me reading, kept me wanting to know more. I wanted to solve the mystery for her sake, so she could eventually find some healing from the traumas she’d endured.

As for the mystery itself, the truth behind the news story was predictable to me. Maybe it’s because I’ve heard a lot about human trafficking and the different aspects of undercover work it takes to catch the criminals in such evil dealings. However, I liked Jett’s fight for the truth, and his emotions in the latter chapters of the story were really great. I felt his anguish. Also, several of the details that were discovered along the way were UNpredictable to me. Therefore, I was able to enjoy the journey even though I knew the end result from pretty early on.

The cat was really well written. This on-page kitty was a great reminder of how sweet and lovable cats can be.

I wanted to love this story, because I’ve enjoyed many others of Mrs. Putman’s books. I’m hoping Lethal Intent is much better than Flight Risk, to find that five-star range again.

Multiple layers within this Legal Thriller. At the heart of it and my favorite layer is the search for truth, specifically in reporting. How far should a reporter go in the search for facts before deciding that what has been gathered is sufficient and the story is ready to share. And what happens if some details aren't correct.

Main character Samantha has been burned in a relationship and is content with the single life, her role as aunt to her beloved niece and career as a lawyer. Her world is upended when a story surfaces about the illicit activities of her ex-husband.

It was a good journey and I didn't figure out all of the details until they were revealed. Another solid legal thriller by Cara Putman.

My gratitude to the author, publisher Thomas Nelson and the CelebrateLit group for a complimentary copy of the novel. I was not required to post a review and the opinions expressed are my own.

Technology, legal expertise, a newspaper expose and murder leave many questions to be answered.
This is a complex story with layered characters and a theme of Truth that is woven throughout.
Savannah Daniels is dealing with a case that takes all her concentration, until personal concerns get in the way, issues that pique her resolve to protect her niece, Addy.
Journalist, Jett Glover, who strives for the truth, has written an article about Dustin Tate, Savannah’s ex-husband, that is threatening to complicate her life. They reluctantly work together to solve an evolving mystery.
This is a craftily written plot with a little romance for good measure. It has an underpinning of faith in God by the principle characters that asks us to think very carefully before we judge others.
Well done by a master of romantic suspense, Cara Putman.

"Finding truth in a fake news world...The reality is the market is so muddied by bad journalists that it's hard to discern who's good and who doesn't know how to ask the right questions."

Cara Putman's legal thrillers never disappoint, and neither did her latest. The focus of the book is on truth and the lasting effects that can be caused by mistruths. This story was filled with multiple threads that seemed overwhelming at first, but as one by one they coalesced, the truth came to be known.

Savannah Daniels is a mitigation lawyer, and Jett Glovers is a reporter. Savannah's world is turned upside down when Jett prints a story which he swears has been factually researched about her ex-husband's involvement in illicit illegal activities. This story starts a roller coaster of deaths that doesn't seem to end. The plot was very well developed, and the details left me wondering who the killer was until the very end.

Somehow Savannah Daniels and Jett Glover find themselves fighting the same battle by righting wrongs that go back years. Savannah is a very successful attorney and Jett is a journalist. Can the two put their difficult pasts behind them and expose hidden truths, all while bringing down a sex trafficking ring?

Jett and Savannah cross paths when the biggest story of Jett's career goes to press. Unfortunately, his story set of a huge chain of events, including the crash of a commercial airplane, with countless lives lost. One of the men who died in the crash was Savannah's ex and they both must work together to bring truth to light.

This thriller delivers a hard punch and is contains tightly woven stories that all come together at pivotal points. This compelling story was finely balanced with deeply emotional moments. Along the way, Savannah realizes that trusting Jett just might lead to a satisfying future. This certainly does not come easy for either of them. I found this story impossible to put down and loved the many layers that were slowly unraveled the deeper I got into the story. Cara Putnam is a new name for me, and I definitely want to see what else she has in store for readers.

Many thanks to Thomas Nelson and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

How much do you really know about a person? In Flight Risk by Cara Putman, her legal thriller takes readers on a hunt to answer this question. Savannah is a lawyer for her own firm with her three lawyer friends that have told their stories in Beyond Justice, Imperfect Justice, and Delayed Justice. The tension in Flight Risk takes off in the opening chapter with a news story written by the hero, Jett. From then on, Putnam keeps reminding readers of Savannah's personal life and how it interacts with her job. The romance between Jett and Savannah is not a top priority in the story, which is the way I like a romance to be in thrillers I read. The suspense kept getting tighter and tighter as the story moved along. I really had a hard time putting the novel down. I planned 2.5 days to finish the novel, but I finished it in one day. Overall, Flight Risk is a legal thriller that is more on the personal level than what happens in the court room. A good chase to seek justice at the end of the novel.

Flight Risk brings back several favorite characters from the Hidden Justice series. The plot centers around Savannah Daniels. A series of tragedies strike her family as her ex-husband is accused of unspeakable crimes and Savannah tries to shelter her niece from the fall-out. Reporter Jett Glover broke the story of Savannah’s ex, but Jett works with Savannah to see if there is more to the story than what he reported.

If you love Cara Putman’s Hidden Justice series, Flight Risk lives up to the suspense and heart-felt characters you’ve come to expect. Savannah is a complex character, and her chemistry with Jett wasn’t an immediate love at first sight, which I like. It allows readers to get to know each character while they dodge danger and try to connect several complex mysteries. Definitely put this novel on your wish list or pre-order. Flight Risk definitely delivers on high-adrenaline action and suspense, with emotional elements that give the reader a thrilling yet satisfying read.

You begin to see that history for Jett’s family is repeating itself, and because of his article things start to go horribly wrong, but why?
The author gives us two very strong characters here, one a lawyer, Savannah Daniels, and the other a star reporter Jett Glover, and how they are thrown together.
You won’t see a lot of what happens coming, your kept on the edge of your seat, and yes, there is a lot of action here. We have sadly murders, and plane crashes, along with human trafficking, and more!
I love this author’s reads, always know I’m in for a great story, and this one doesn’t disappoint!

Cara Putman’s latest is quite a ride with smart twists and turns that keep you wondering who can be trusted. Like always, Putman has a strong heroine fighting for justice, but this time, the danger strikes closer to home. I enjoyed both the mystery and the love story—compelling on both counts. I highly recommend!

This was an attention grabbing romantic suspense novel, filled with twists and turns and the villain that I never saw coming. Between airplane crashes, human trafficking and drug and alcohol abuse, there were plenty of heavy topics included, but the book itself didn't have a heavy feel to it as the author handled those issues with care. This one kept me turning pages long into the night, anxious to see what happens next. The main reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the romance moved way too fast for my liking and it was a bit frustrating to me. It did move the story along, though, and fans of romantic suspense with a heavier dose of romance will probably enjoy that aspect more than I did. The romance wasn't overwhelming by any stretch and so I still thoroughly enjoyed the story, I just would have preferred a slower burn, particularly with the personality types of the characters. All in all, though, this was an enjoyable romantic suspense novel and I look forward to reading more by this author

This is my first time reading Putman's work and even though I didn't connect with it as much as I wanted to, I really did enjoy certain aspects of this story.

Loved Savannah from the start, she started her own firm and has the best staff keeping everything running smoothly while she struggles to balance her personal life. She also celebrates her 40th birthday in the midst of some crazy things happening. That was a fun scene!

There is one thing I completely relate to regarding Savannah and her loyalty, she is fiercely protective of her teen niece. I have a teen nephew that I love like my own and agree with EVERYTHING Savannah does to make Addy feel safe and loved. AND she has some incredible patience for her irresponsible sister who has a talent for making ANYONE defensive.

Also REALLY enjoyed how Savannah and Jett go from complete strangers to friends to something sweet. Man that guy took liberties contacting Savannah that I was surprised with, he comes across as nosy and annoying at first but he grows both on her and the reader.

Savannah's ex-husband seems to be up to no good in the story, but Jett uncovers a sex trafficking ring Daniel is involved in somehow. Really loved that aspect of the book, wished there had been more scenes about that investigation than about the plane, but it was still well written.

Truly wished there had been more about the plane crash in the story, there's even the word Flight in the title. Unfortunately that is only described afterwards and only briefly.

I had no idea who the culprit was and I even had difficulty connecting the dots between Savannah's clients and the plane crash. Like I said, wish I had connected more with the plot. Every legal scene at Savannah's office was done expertly and enough intrigue.

Enjoyed this clean legal thriller with an innocent niece that gets the attention she needs, a cat who is largely neglected but utterly cute in the few scenes he has, a reporter determined to find the truth even after he gets a detour, a plane crash that could've been avoided, and Savannah. She is such a brilliant attorney who will help the underdog client no matter what it means for her career and she seems to be at the center of every chaotic situation that takes place in this story when all she wants to do is help her niece. Despite others who did their part, I considered her the true hero in this book.

A mystery that focuses on the importance of truth in reporting, not rushing to judgement, and taking risks.

The main character, Savannah Daniels, is an attorney who is helping a company navigate through arbitration and a lawsuit with their new technology. She has a complicated "family" situation as her ex-husband, Dustin Tate, fathered a daughter with Savannah's sister. Savannah's niece is Addy, and is not well looked after by her mother, Stasi. A reporter is hot on a story involving Dustin Tate and some friends of his who often travel to Thailand and are suspected of trafficking young girls. In a twist, as the expose is released after much fact-checking by the reporter, Jett Glover, three of the people involved in the Thailand escapades end up dead. NO SPOILERS.

This was OK but bogged down with way too much romance and has a very Christian tone. Those two features sort of overpowered the actual plot and story line which I thought was going to be more a legal thriller or a suspenseful mystery. It was a quick, easy read.

2.5 stars raised because I hope this is a standalone and not part of any series. Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Publishers for this e-book ARC to read and review.

"We're all one choice from a life change."

In this spin-off from The Hidden Justice series, Cara Putman once again brings her audience a fast-paced, satisfying read that combines action-packed suspense with legal drama and romance. The book gives Savannah, the heroines' mentor from The Hidden Justice series, a voice filled with broken past, impossible present, and uncertain future. This book is a stand-alone since Savannah is just a shadow of a character in the previous series but seeing Hayden, Emilie, and Jaime again will be fun for those who enjoyed The Hidden Justice series. The complex and detailed plot of this story will keep your attention until the very last page of the book and the characters of Jett and Savannah will capture your heart.

It's interesting that Jett, a dedicated and determined investigative journalist, is paired up with Savannah, an equally dedicated and determined attorney, as a plane crash, a new black box technology, a scathing expose of an article, and multiple murders bring them together in a seemingly confusing and unrelated course of events. The adventure they undertake to untangle the complicated web involves a whole lot of twists and turns, plenty of action, and rollercoaster of emotions. The legal aspect of the story was fascinating, especially to this particular reader who is a legalese novice.

If you enjoy romantic suspense with a good dose of legal drama, you will love this book. Cara Putman is the queen of this genre! Enjoy a wild ride in Cara Putman’s newest legal thriller, Flight Risk!

Attorney Savannah Daniels has a lot on her plate, managing her own law firm, a particularly challenging lawsuit, and the safety of her beloved niece. Journalist Jett Glover only complicates matters when he publishes a story portraying her ex-husband (also, her niece’s father) in a scandalous light. As a plane crash, a car accident, and several mysterious deaths add to the chaos surrounding them, they must work to see behind the facade and find the truth they so desperately need.

Flight Risk seems a little chaotic and over the top, at times, working to tie multiple story threads together. Still, it proves to be an engaging story from beginning to end. I enjoyed getting to know both Savannah and Jett. Their relationship is a bit rushed, but oh so sweet and makes a lot of sense, and their perspectives through everything show growth, hope, and understanding.

All in all, a solid legal thriller from Putman.

(FYI: I did borrow the audiobook through hoopla. The narrator performs the voices in a way that makes it difficult to distinguish Savannah from male characters. Frequently, I found myself a little confused about who-said-what in moments of dialogue.)

I enjoyed this fast-paced suspenseful novel with a touch of legal thriller to it. Savannah is an attorney who is still recovering from her husband’s betrayal. But when a reporter, Jett, accuses him in print of being part of a sex-trafficking ring, she can’t believe it. Things start spiraling out of control and Savannah finds herself working with Jett to figure out the truth. It’s an unlikely pairing but they come to appreciate each other.
There were a few spots where the villain’s mindset came through. It felt to me that there should have been a lot more of this if it was going to be included. It sometimes switched perspectives abruptly.
The parts of the book that dealt with Savannah’s case were a little slower but I think that adds to the feel of the laboriousness of the task of wading through documents. So I didn’t really mind that.
I enjoyed the action, the suspense, the twists and urgency. It was a good read. Thank you to Thomas Nelson for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

"Some sins soap didn't touch."

Flight Risk is a legal thriller with an underlying mystery that made for an intense storyline. I've loved Putman's books, but did find it took me a bit to catch onto this storyline. However, once I did, I was hooked. I believe this is due to multiple viewpoints and multiple storylines. So, know going into it, you have to get a grip on the characters and their stories first. Then the book really takes off. It was fun seeing Savannah Daniel's friends from the Hidden Justice series pop up in this new spin-off that can be read as a standalone. Savannah is a strong female character with too many irons in the fire as the story heats up, but that leads to her realizing she doesn't want to go through it alone. Jett Glover is a man driven for truth as an investigative journalist, but his article isn't adding up and the body count is rising. He has a hero's heart drawing him more and more to wanting to help Savannah, her niece and finding the truth. I love his heart and how much he puts into thinking about whats best for Savannah. Their romance isn't necessarily traditional, but that made it even better as Savannah understandably can't stand him before ever meeting him. I loved how Putman wrapped everything up in the ending, too. She gave such hope.

"Even in the absence of peace, she had a choice. Trust God or take control."

There were so many intricate details to this book, that it is hard to capture it all in a review. However, I think the essence of the story is finding peace in the midst of all the chaos. As Savannah learns to move on from the past and how to trust again, Jett is learning to live outside of his work. I love Savannah's heart for her niece and wanting what is best for her. There is also an underlying thread of human trafficking and it's impacts. Though, I can't speak too much about this without giving away some of the story. I found it very inspirational and yet, hard to see the lasting effects. Beautifully written with a powerful message of overcoming hardships, not necessarily all happy ending, but dealing with the truth of humanity.. Fans of this book would love Cara Putman's Hidden Justice series.

I was given an advanced reader copy of Flight Risk by the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions given in this review are my own.

What is truth? The tension never quits in another fabulous legal thriller penned by this author. Two story lines intertwine in this page-turning suspense. Jett Glover, reporter, prides himself in reporting only the truth. He spends many long hours researching each story making sure his information is correct and true. How then can he accept that his article may have ramifications that are totally unexpected? Savannah Daniels is a very good lawyer currently with a patent infringement suit that seems to morph into something much bigger with each new day. If they work together will they solve both of these mysteries?

Between intrigue, mystery, human trafficking and unexpected danger you will not put this down until you figure out who or what is behind this all. The author does a fine job of keeping the reader in the dark - I will admit it took some time before I thought I knew who was behind it all. I highly recommend this book! What a fabulous way to spend a day.

I received an ARC through Thomas Nelson, HarperCollins Christian Publishing, NetGalley and CelebrateLit. The impressions and comments are my own and were in no way solicited.

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed "Flight Risk" as not only a thrilling suspense, but also as a budding "break out of the box" romance.

From the charged and high pace setting of D.C. comes a novel regarding the importance and perception of truth. How do you find it and what do you do with it? Savannah and Jett are an unlikely pairing, but are thrown together due to circumstances neither would have asked for. While the romance is not the main flavor of the novel, I have to say I actually appreciate that aspect about this book. It flows naturally without feeling tacked into place and the ending gives a nice satisfaction into what will be for these characters.

The suspense kept the pages turning and dual story lines between breaking up a human traffic ring to a plane crash--and trying to to determine where they might be connected gave depth and layers to the story--keeping the pace quick and upbeat.

Would definitely recommend to romantic suspense fans. Well worth the read!

Excellent character development and realistic emotions and actions make this novel almost novel. Lawyer Savannah is stuck in the middle of some scary situations. Representing clients who may be skirting the law and taking care of her niece (also the daughter of her ex) should be enough. But add in an airplane crash, murders, and human trafficking, and you’ve got the makings of an addictive read. Savannah’s faith helps her through. I received an advanced digital copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

description

This is an increasingly intense legal thriller filled with pulse-pounding suspense and a gentle sprinkling of romance. The author's casual writing style welcomes you into facing the tough topic of sex trafficking in a way that brings awareness to such a serious and traumatic issue without being graphic or gratuitous. The touches of faith provided the much needed calm within the sea of so much illegal activity, betrayal, and greed. Religious nuances became an encouraging beacon of hope even in the face of true evil.

The quest for the truth drives the actions of these deeply dynamic characters that readers will become highly invested in. Not only do the personal interactions between Savannah and Jett hint at their vulnerabilities, but their professional involvement demonstrates their respect and admiration for one another. A history of family dysfunction and distress adds emotional understanding to their internal conflicts, while their conversations with each other shine profound light on the blossoming relationship that they are gradually willing to open themselves up to.

The author's legal background adds an authentic voice to a book that is compulsively readable. Multiple story-lines converge with twists and turns that were definitely hard to see coming! This fast-paced and well written plot was fascinating to read and really set some high expectations for the author's previous books that I look forward to reading soon!

Many thanks to Partners in Crime Book Tours and the author for providing me with an advanced copy of the book. This is my honest and thoughtful opinion.

What a waste of time. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I’d been introduced to Savannah in the first book of this series, which is where she should have stayed. This book should never have gone to print. Perhaps the author was trying to paint her characters as flawed but lovable, but they came across as inept idiots. The plot was disjointed and loose ends are scattered throughout this book. I sincerely hope Cara Putman is a better lawyer than writer.

Enjoyed this book - intriguing story set in Alexandria, VA. I’m familiar with the area so it helped make the story come alive for me.
