Data on cooking tools, kitchen safety, and measuring ingredients accompanies a delightfully-illustrated international compendium of recipes adapted for young cooks
I found this delightful vintage cookbook while thrifting in Louisiana. It’s a wonderful collection of recipes from UNICEF for children from around the world. Each recipe is ranked on a scale of easy to difficult: guava toast from Brazil is one hand (easy) while plat National from Haiti is three hands (difficult). The book is spiral bound and printed vertically so it can be propped up while cooking, and the beautiful illustrations lend a cultural touchstone to each dish and country of origin. My kids and I are going to try the spinach pie from Greece tonight and the kiribath from Sri Lanka tomorrow.
