I’ve been writing for many years, but only recently did I start publishing. Soon after that I was lucky enough to land a job as the Editorial Assistant for the Ralls County Herald-Enterprise. Now someone actually pays me to write, which is pretty cool. I graduated Wellsville Middletown High School in 1993, and after a short stint in the Army I traveled, mostly in the mid-west, though I've been as far north as Seattle and as far south as Pensacola. I haven’t done anything amazing like single-handedly save an entire tribe of Ugandan children from Ebola or serve overseas and save my entire squad from a tribe of Ugandan children with Ebola, but I love a good story, whether I’m reading one, or writing one.
Along with the independently published American Revenant zombie apocalypse series set in and around Hannibal, Missouri I dabble in horror, thrillers, and science-fiction, mostly in short stories. I’ve also written several short screenplays with plans to eventually script a feature-length film.
I live in Hannibal, MO with my wife, two daughters and one dog.
Despite the overt violence, pretty much throughout, there is a method to the madness. I found myself thinking "You go, Joe", and "Way to go, Joe" the further I read. I mean, who doesn't want the underdog to overcome every obstacle and win? Especially when it involves rescuing a group of young girls who were snatched off the street for nefarious trafficking purposes by a nasty bunch of individuals. The tension ratchets up as the story goes on, as Joe is pitted against seemingly insurmountable tasks to save the girls he discovers quite by accident. You want him to succeed, because after all, he's just an "average Joe"!
Way above average!!! I read this during a camping trip this weekend and I could not put it down!!! I stayed up late by the campfire, by myself, just to finish it and I was not disappointed. The ending was captivating to the very last chapter, I felt so many different emotions at the end and I have no doubt I will want to re-read this book in the future.
Just an everyday guy, who jumped onto the back of a moving van without thinking, because he saw a girl snatched off the street in a matter of seconds. The world would be a different place with more Average Joe's around.
Those book was really really good! Am average Joe witnesses a kidnapping and then tries to be the hero. This is from his point of view for the most part. Fast paced, great ending
This action packed book kept me in a state of anxiety throughout its entirety. I highly recommend this book for anyone that loves a hero fighting to rescue the innocent against brutal adversaries. Well done, John, well done!!!
