Empath: The new “competence” for success, the ultimate guide to understand yourself and make the most of your potential

Rate this book
Empathy is the ability to feel what others are feeling. In people who don’t know they are deeply empathetic, it is often mistaken as having a bad day, or just feeling unexpectedly happy, sad, and even angry. It is an innate gift that humans are born with, but often lose sight of as we age and most people are empathetic without realizing it. As an empath, daily affirmations are a part of our lives and each chapter will begin with an inspirational affirmation directly related to empathy.
Empaths share common traits, but many have something unique that separates them from the rest. We will discuss what it means to take on the emotions of the world, how it impacts us mentally and spiritually, and how to work with such an amazing gift on a day-to-day basis.
In this book, we will explore what empathy is, how it impacts you and your life, emotional competence and intelligence, and how to live your best life as an empath.

More a book about how to develop empathic skills.

I am an empath, and what I thought I was going to get here was a better understanding of how that works, what makes an empath an empath, and how we can take care of ourselves in the process.

Now, while the book does provide some of this information, the author quickly slips into how to grow and fine tune your skills. You’re provided with tools to be a better empath, and how to work an play well with others.

Bring empathetic, my skills are pretty finely honed. I don’t need help with that. Before I came to understand what I was actually doing, I thought I could read minds.

I skimmed the chapters describing emotions, because I already know what sadness and anger, etc are. Actually, I skimmed through quite a bit of it and was pretty disappointed with this book. If you’re young and confused, I suppose it could give you some guidance. For those of us who know what we are, much of it was a waste of time.
