此册金刚经为傅山因“朱衣道人案”入狱，出狱后为感念相救者之恩所书。全文结体古樸淳厚、自然端莊，可謂傳自鍾繇的筆法。與之一脈相承的還有明代書法家王寵，黃道周，祝枝山。他的拙中見巧，勁中顯逸，當出自鍾氏的“高古淳樸，超妙入神”。文末有十余位过眼或收藏者题跋，均做了释文，让读者能一窥此作的递藏情况。
