Alex and Jay are business partners for a billion dollar company that develops apps for online counseling. Neither man has been successful with getting and keeping dates with women who aren't looking at the dollar signs attached to their names. The time has come for them to do something drastic. Jay is a jaded whiner who doesn't think that women can like a guy that doesn't have money. They want flowers and spa dates and won't settle for halfway. Alex refuses to accept those feelings as fact and Jay challenges him to find out if it's true or not by going online to a dating app and filing a fake profile. Alex really wants to prove to him that he can find a girl who is willing to look past the glitz and the glamour of a billionaire's life. Bet is on! Muffy is an accountant who just got dumped by a man named Steve who had no redeeming value as a boyfriend. He did nothing but tear her down and make her doubt herself. Muffy's roommate and dear friend, Carla, convinced her that she should give a dating app a try. I mean, what can it hurt, right? There's a reason why there's the phrase "you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince" and Muffy found out with her first date with Pat. I don't think I've laughed that hard during a date and envisioning Pat made me want to cringe! Thankfully, she promised Carla that she would give it 3 tries and a man named Alex was her third date. From the moment they met in the restaurant, there was something special between the two of them. She was beautiful, secure and could even make a joke at her own expense. When Alex's credit card was "denied," she didn't hesitate to pick up the bill herself. Alex is so impressed with everything about her and their witty banter is so much fun! As time progresses, however, this no longer feels like a bet for Alex and he's a bit uneasy that he ever made the bet in the first place. It's true that he's a liar in one sense, but he is really starting to like everything about her. His fear is well-founded because Jay just can't keep his mouth shut. Muffy is never going to forgive him if she finds out he's a billionaire who has been lying to her all along. If she does learn the truth, how could he ever regain her trust? The ending is really well-written in how it touches the reader and brings the story full circle. Lovely epilogue!

Adam, a billionaire, makes a bet with his best friend, Jay, that not all women are interested in money. He posts a profile online and meets Muffy, who doesn’t want to date but is convinced by her own best friend, Carla, to post a profile. The pair hit it off, but when Muffy discovers what she knows about Adam is a lie, will he be able to save their relationship?

I liked Adam, but I thought he could have come clean about the truth sooner than he did. Throughout most of the book he feels guilty for keeping things from Muffy. He does, however, go out of his way to take her on dates he knows she’ll enjoy, such as star gazing, because he does genuinely like her.

I thought Muffy was a bit of a pushover. She lets her roommate talk her into online dating, which she doesn’t want to do. And when her first date is disastrous and she wants to give up, Carla forces her into doing it again. When a waitress is rude to her, she debates between leaving her a tip or not, and then leaves her a tip even though the waitress’s attitude didn’t really call for one. She has a good heart, but it would have been nice to see her put her foot down and stand up for herself a little more. Even when she gets upset with Adam over something, she forgives him too quickly.

The whole Jay and Carla relationship in the epilogue seemed to have come out of nowhere. I think that a separate story would have been better, covering how they turned what was supposed to be a one-night stand into something more. As it was, they had a one-night stand that wasn’t mentioned again, and then suddenly in the epilogue they were together. Based on what I briefly saw of the two of them together in the book, it didn’t really make sense. It kind of felt like it was just thrown in there in order to have an epilogue.

Overall, I liked the book. There’s a good blend of humor, romance, and angst. The characters, for the most part, are likeable and enjoyable. I’d recommend it to those readers who enjoy stories about billionaires.

Muffy and Alexs story is funny, hearth warming and delightful! I laughed, felt sorry for the caracters, angry at things they did and just really enjoyed the story! The supporting caracters of their best friends really added a dimention to the story as well, so all in all I recommend reading this book!

wanna bet?

Muffy hates her name and all the jokes that came with it. she has had so many bad relationships she is beginning to believe there is nobody out there for her. Alex is in the same boat for different reasons, so he makes a bet with his best friend. Too bad it will cause the best thing that has ever happened to them to start out with a lie. Can Alex get the girl of his dreams? Read and find out!

Missing pages

There seems to be something wrong with this book. The first page of every chapter is missing. Perhaps I just got a shorty download. If so I will change my review accordingly, but as it stands now, it's unreadable. Sorry

Lindsely Hart has written a story about self doubt, and deceit. Muffy has just been dumped by her boyfriend and she is just done with dating. Carla her best friend and roommate talks her into signing up on a dating app. Alex and his best friend and bussiness partner are talking about women and Jay makes a bet with Alex that all women want is a man that is rich. If Alex can get a woman to fall for him with him acting like he is less than what he is then he will win the bet. Muffy is the one that Alex picks. At their first date Alex has his credit card declined and Muffy pays for dinner and tells him that it is ok. The more time Alex spends with Muffy the more the bet eats at him. He is starting to have feelings for Muffy, but he don't want those feelings. Muffy is starting to real fall for Alex. Jay wants to meet Muffy so Alex, ask her to meet him and Jay. She agrees and she brings her best friend Carla with her. After dinner she goes home with Alex and Jay takes Carla home. Carla thinks that she has seen Alex and Jay before so she puts jay in a position that he has no choice but to tell her what is going on. When Muffy get homes the next morning, Cala tells her about the bet. This just brreaks her and she wants nothing to do with Alex.
Will Muffy let Alex explain about the bet or will she just accept his apologly and get on with her life.
Can Alex ever get Muffy to talk to him so that he can explain about his feelings for her or will he be alone and unhappy?
This book will have you feeling like you are there with Muffy and Alex with all the things that are going on with them. It is written in such a way that one you start reading you will want to finish jut to find out what happens. I wold recommand this book to anyone who enjoys a good love story.

Muffy is dumped by her 40 year old boyfriend because her name is an embarrassment to him. Her flatmate Carla talks her into having an online dating identity so that she can experience a relationship with a man who wont be offended by her name. She has made a deal after the first dud she goes out with to try three more dates. Then she meets Alex, he seems to good to be true. She is involved in a comedy of errors on her first date and doesn't believe he will go out with her again, but is then surprised when he wants to see her again.

Alex is a billionaire and is tired of women wanting to go out with him for his money. His business partner Jay convinces him to create an online profile on a dating app with him being an ordinary man and not the successful business man he is. Jay makes a bet with Alex that he cant get a woman to care about him after he has a credit card that is declined on their date and he appears as though he is struggling like normal people.

After having to pay for their first dinner, Muffy goes with Alex to a field to watch stars and when Alex goes to kiss her, she bashes him on the nose and nearly sends him to the emergency room. They go out again and this time the date is a success and Alex takes Muffy back to his house which is a rented apartment in the wrong part of town. Alex bought a beat up truck to use to drive around while dating Muffy. Things progress in their dates and they start a relationship until Jay tells Carla that Alex was only dating Muffy on a bet. Feelings are hurt and Muffy breaks up with Alex and they are both miserable. Things work out in the end and they have a HEA ending.

Cynical billionaire? Check
Bet between friends? Check
A woman who has dated a lot of frogs? Check
When Alex accepts a bet from his friend, due in part to his competitive nature and due in part to hoping he will be surprised, he never expects for the bet to change his life. Alex is tired of dating women who only want him because of his money. His friend insists that no such woman exists. If Alex can make a woman fall for him, a version who has no money, then Alex gets to set his friend up with a 'real' woman.
Muffy is tired of dating. Every man she has dated has proven to be a jerk and this includes her ex. When she lets her best friend, Carla set up a dating profile, she is adament that it won't do any good. Carla insists that she has to go on three dates in order to prove that she gave it a real shot. When her date ends up being Alex, she is smitten, but dosen't want to get her hopes up.
Their relationship grows quickly, they are really only dating for a couple of weeks, before everything blows up. Whether they have a future will be determined by how much he wants a second chance. The chemistry and relationship between the couple was great. I was a little upset that she didn't give him a chance to explain, especially considering she was only on the dating website because of her friend and not expecting anything from it. She wasn't exactly up front with him either.
I hope their friends get a book of their own. I liked how shy they both were at times and how honest they were wtih each other when on their dates. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.

Muffy & Alex are two different people. Muffy has had a bad breakup and doesn't really want to date. Alex is a billionaire and doesn't date or wants to be with someone. Both of their best friends encourage them to go on a blind date from the dating app that they signed up for. Jay, Alex's best friend bets him that no one would go out with him if he was just an average guy. Carla, Muffy's roommate and best friend is tired of seeing Muffy just moping around and crying from her breakup. When Alex meets Muffy, he knows that he could really fall for, but he is lying to her about who he is and doesn't know how he can get out of it.
He pretends to have a low paying job and not much money. When his credit card is denied, Muffy pays for their meal. He takes her out to see the stars and she really likes watching the sky. Alex just can't believe she is for real and knows he must tell her. Muffy is really falling for Alex and has no idea this relationship is fake. Everything Muffy does amazes Alex until the four of them go out to eat together. Muffy leaves with Alex to his fake apartment and Carla leaves with Jay. This is when things really get interesting. Carla has figured out who Alex is and confronts Jay in the most amazing way. I won't spoil the rest of the story.
I laughed until I cried, I cried until I could see to read. But as in Lindsey Hart's books, she always works everything out and has as amazing ending.

I absolutely loved this book! With amazing characters, a wonderful story and an exploding can of whipped cream, what more could a reader ask for? Alex and Jay have been friends forever. They are both rich due to creating an app that helps people. They are both jaded about relationships though and that leads them to a bet that Alex can't find a woman who likes him for him and not his money. Enter Muffy and her roommate Carla. Muffy has just gotten out of a relationship and Carla insists she try online dating. She finally agrees and ends up on a date with Alex. It's an amazing first date and they end up continuing to see each other and Alex ends up in trouble because he really likes Muffy. He's starting to regret taking the bet. After the four of them go to dinner one night, she goes home with Alex and Jay ends up going home with Carla. Muffy and Alex have an amazing night but it's all ruined the next morning when Carla spills the beans. She got Jay to confess after realizing they looked familiar and looking them up online. Muffy ends it with Alex and Alex and Jay come to blows. Alex finds his way back to Muffy though and gets her to give him another chance. It leads them to their happily ever after.

Muffy has had it with men all they do is make fun of her name or suggestive comments about them. However her room mate refuses to let her give up and talks her into signing up for a dating site. After the first date is awful she's ready to delete her account but her room mate talks her into one more date. Alex and his friend are talking about women only wanting them for their money when they come up with a bet. Alex has to find a woman that will like him when he can't pay for dinner, take her out on an extravagant date and he is no money. He does up a dating profile and Muffy's friend chooses him for Muffy to see next. Muffy feels bad when his card is declined but she understands being short on money and pays for their dinner. Alex is stunned that she still wants to see him and they make plans for another date. When things start to heat up between them he knows that its more than a bet for him. What will Muffy do when she learns about the bet? Can Alex get her to give him a second chance?

This is a great story that once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is scorching hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Muffy, yes, that’s her real name, says the line “I wish I could hate you. It would be easier.” near the end of the book. She’s talking to Alex who is trying to win her back after really blowing a chance to win a bet. A bet with his best friend, Jay. That plays a huge part in the story. Muffy’s best friend, Carla plays a big part in the story as well.
It started out rocky in the beginning for the two of them. They went through lots of moments--not all good, not all bad--in the few days it took them to fall in love and then separate. Love is a funny thing. It can end in pain. Or it can end in bliss. These wonderful characters take us on a great adventure. We get to watch the journey they take to find out the answer to that very question. Pain or Bliss?
This story is not only worth the read, it is a solid story line and has so many aspects of a story that I like. It has great characters, solid story line, lots of ups and downs, heat, and HEA. It was a one sitting read for me. I was entranced with the book. It is a definite 5 Star rating from me. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book for an honest review.

Gosh what a mess.
Alex and his buddy Jay make a bet, since Alex is tired of woman after his money and not love and he has a competitive nature takes the bet.
Muffy yes that's her real name is tired of the a**hole men she has dayed and is ready to give up on the whole relationship thing. Her bestfriend and roommate Carla convinced her to sign up for a dating service. This is where she meets Alex. Their relationship started out on a lie so its only appropriate for it to last a little over a week before total failure. Alex lies about himself and Muffy lies about wanting a real relationship. So yeah total failure. Carla and Jay meet one night when Muffy and Alex have a date and recognizes them, so she takes Jay home and interrogates him into the truth. Oops Alex and Muffy have already slept together and love was in the air until it wasn't. Alex and Jay got into a huge fight over that little tidbit. Muffys dragging around the apartment got on Carlas nerves so she called Alex to fix it. In the end who was hearing wedding bells?

When Muffy is dumped by her boyfriend because her name can't be taken seriously, she decides she's done dating. She doesn't think she's anything special after being put down so many times. Her roommate and best friend Carla ends up talking her into online dating. After a couple disastrous dates, she meets Alex and the attraction between them is undeniable. He's gorgeous and she doesn't understand what he could see in her.

Alex and his friend Jay are billionaires who are tired of being used by women for their money. Jay bets Alex that no woman would want him if he was broke. To prove Jay wrong, Alex makes an online dating profile and meets Muffy. She's sweet, smart, funny and beautiful even if she doesn't know it. They hit it off and Alex feels guilty about all the lies he has told. When Muffy learns the truth, she's hearbroken. Can Alex fix the relationship with his perfect woman?

A story of self doubt and lies. Muffy is a strong lead character and Alex is a great guy. He could have told the truth sooner, but still a good book. Carla was a great side character and Jay was kind of annoying at times.

It Only Takes a Moment to Be Loved A Whole Life Long
Alex never thought he could find the perfect woman—certainly his friend Jay believed it would be impossible for a rich, young entrepreneur to engage in an honest relationship if his identity and financial status were known. And so, the bet. Lifelong friends, Alex and Jay have decided that no woman is honest—they all are money grasping liars, especially if they know the finances of the two friends. Jay bets his friend that Alex as a poor man could not attract any woman. Taking the bet, Alex sets up a dating profile with a plan of misrepresenting himself as financially challenged to see if he could attract a woman. And, the plan works—he meets Muffy, a beautiful, sweet, kind-hearted woman who has also become jaded with dating game following an esteem shattering relationship. The two are honestly attracted to each other, but will attraction be enough to overcome distrust when the truth comes out? A sweet story of love and friendship.

This story is about Muffy and Adam. This starts off with Muffy being frustrated with her name and wanting to have it changed, but that cost a lot of money in which she doesn’t have. She blames her name for being the cause that her boyfriend broke up with her as he needed someone with a serious name, not Muffy! Carla is Muffy’s friend and roommate, well she convinces or forces her to join a dating app to meet someone new. Adam on the other hand is a billionaire that based on a BET that he does with his best friend/business partner Jay for $20 he also creates a profile on the same app that they develop. He meets Muffy and they hit if off which is where the story takes off, although they are great for each other, does the secret of the bet change things and can Adam turn this around? The story is great and I’m hoping that there is going to be a story on Jay and Carla…. their hookup and at the end being together doesn’t share what they went through.

Disenchanted with the dating scene!
by sewsummore

What happens when two people find themselves totally disenchanted with the dating scene, they decide never to try again. This is what happened to Muffy and Alex. Their friends try to cheer them up and eventually they cave in and agree to try online dating. Having bad experiences in the past the last thing they expected was to form a connection with each other. Alex was a wealthy man sick for being dated for his money. Muffy was a woman confident in her self, she just wanted a man who wanted the same things as she did. He did not have to be rich or look like a "greek god", he just had to love her for herself. This was an amusing romance with a deeper meaning. Your significant other does not have to be perfect, just perfect for you. Alex made a mistake for lying to her, but his regard for her was honest and true. Does she forgive him, read the book and you will find out.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the funny romance between Alex and Muffy. Muffy was just dumped by her boyfriend because of her name and her roommate convinced her to try online dating in order to find a good guy. Muffy agreed to try three dates and she was not hopeful. Alex was a billionaire who was sick of being used by women and vowed never to date again. Alex's best friend bet him he couldn't find an honest woman who would date him for himself and not his money. Alex decided to take the bet and pretend to be broke. When Alex and Muffy met, they were both instantly attracted to each other and Muffy seemed not to care about Alex being broke. Alex was surprised by how Muffy seemed to just take things as they went and wasn't upset about anything. Alex really liked Muffy and they more he was around her, the more he liked her and he regretted the bet. I really liked this book and found it funny. I liked Alex and i think he needed to find someone who didn't care about money and Muffy needed to realize how great she was. Another great one.

What happens when your relationship is based on a bet?

Alex goes on a blind date with Muffy, a girl who has sworn off relationships when one date after another results in disaster.

Their date goes off well, with both of them finding it easy to like each other’s personalities.

The problem? Alex, who Muffy thinks is a guy struggling to make ends meet, is actually a billionaire who takes on a bet with a friend—to prove that not all girls are after his money!

So… as expected, everything blows up in his face, and Alex had to do major damage control to win back Muffy, the girl he realised that he has fallen in love with.

Lindsey Hart did great with this story, reminding us, her readers, that love should never be trifled with. I love how every time, Lindsey Hart manages to write about topics that while they seem to be over-the-top, are inherently real in today’s world. So, yes, this author will always be on my top reads to follow!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. You have best friends Muffy and Carla and best friend Alex and Jay. This all started out as a bet between Jay and Alex to see if Alex could find a woman that was not about his money. Muffy and Alex hit it off right at the beginning. When you have a best friend they are always looking out for your best interest. Carla knew something was up so she corner Jay and found out about the bet. Muffy and Alex slept together and afterward was when she found out about the bet. They had their ups and downs and their best friends that help out to get these two together and themselves. Muffy and Alex gets their happy ever after and so does the best friends together. This was sort of a fast pace relationship book but good non the less. Great Job on another 5 stars book Ms Hart.
