Kamisa Cole puts her characters through a whole lot of stress! I love how she is not afraid to do that but it makes you fall for her characters that much more.

Alex and Kash are great men who come together and have an instant connection but life keeps throwing things their way!

Love how it all gets worked out!

Age does not really matter in the grand scheme of things!

Violence erupts around us in different forms, but there are just those that bespoke of just plain cruelty, to put it simply. A reason so nonsensical that you wonder if humanity has really spiraled downwards.

Kash feels deeply. When he saw the young man with one eye swollen, a broken arm, a body full of bruises, he immediately thought the worst. He is kind and mindful of what he could and couldn’t do. He likes to help.

Alec has just come out to his family and it didn’t turn as he hoped it would. Now, he is force to provide for himself and that means he needs to find a job. Entering the LGBTQ+ bar and sort of demanding a job, and the way he looked at the time, made Kash and the club owner, Gage, take a good look at him. He is nineteen years old.

As a reader I love a good build up, maybe I am just set in my ways but I love to read a good background story of the characters and the particular situation it revolves around. The storyline in this tale is a favorite of mine, age gap, protector-protectee, but I felt that the story was rushed. But for a first book in a new series, I am positive we will be seeing more improvement as the stories continue. All the best Ms. Kamisa Cole. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is my first book by Kamisa Cole but deffinatly not the last, really enjoyed this well written fast reading book. When Kash met Alec he had just started working for DiverCity, with the death of the head of security at the club him and his crew were going to start working there. Alec had come in beaten and bruised by his father after coming out looking for work. For Kash the whole idea of a serious was a new thing, add in the age difference and a total made it a total no go, but no matter how he tried Alec was what he wanted. To Alec although he was young he knew Kash was what he needed, that and a chance to have a chance to make him his, now if stuff would stop happening and ruin everything.

Completely Changed is a story about Alec and Kash. I love both of these characters. They both have complicated backstories that they have to grow through. This book hits on a few hard topics and I think the author has done a wonderful job writing about in a elegant way.
I started this series a little backwards. Last week I read the second book first and then the first book. Even though it was out of order the story was still great and I did not spoil myself or get lost. I love that this series can be read as stand alone if you wanted. However I am so invested in these characters. I cannot wait to read more books and learn more about some of the others like Gage and Nash.

Completely Changed is a stand-alone, age-gap, MM novel in the DiverCity world by Kamisa Cole. This particular story centers on Kash, a new security guard at the DiverCity club, and Alec, a young man who falls into this dark, sexy world.

Cole manages to portray the angst and conflict between these two men with such finesse and grace, it will bring tears to your eyes. This book left me crying on the floor on more than one occasion, and in all the best ways. She truly shows how you can be completely accepting with your own sexuality and still be uncomfortable showing it in the world we live in, a rarity in a lot of MM books I've read (and believe me, I've read a few).

This is a fantastic read from this author, and I cannot wait to return to DiverCity.

I love this book… BUT!!!

I adore the storyline and characters that KC weaves in there. The beginning was wonderful, but GURL… the TYPOS. I can usually just gloss over them and keep going. This time I was severely distracted by the typos, extra words that didn’t make sense, and the sentences that wanted to be readable (they just weren’t☹️). It makes me super sad that the editor wasn’t able to catch these before the book was released. I loved loved loved the ideas and meaning behind the book. With some revisions I think this book can soar with the wings the writer meant for it to have.

There are a lot of nice things about this book. There's honesty, reality, tension, steam...none of those things are to be discounted in this story of two men, damaged in different ways, trying to find a way to love someone others think they shouldn't. What I like less is the pacing, the push and pull, and the many instances of forced progression in the story and the individual conflicts. But overall, we're given a good story with two men who obviously need one another and despite all the difficulties, they find a love that fits.

All the pieces of the story had their place, but the way they were put together only kind of fit. They worked chronologically, but most of the progression between them felt forced. Instead of allowing them to move forward organically some conflicts were thrown in to give them somewhere to go, something to push them forward too strongly, too quickly. The way things started with the instant attraction and element of protection was a good start. It's just when the very next thing that happens is pages and pages of vehement denial, pushing one another away, immature decision making and reactions...none of it really bodes well for a functional relationship. And when the things that make them give in are constantly thwarted by conflicts that don't really feel natural I'm hard-pressed to say I was eager to find out where they went from there. I wasn't compelled by the overall story unfortunately.

Kash was the more interesting of the two men with a personal history that was believable and, from start to finish, felt like it added depth and was something that could be reconciled fully in a meaningful way by the end of the story. A couple surprise revelations worked to bring the family concept full-circle, but it also seemed a little bigger than simply keeping it with his mother and realizing that families can be chosen by virtue of love and support and not merely by blood and paperwork. Alec embodied his age and maturity level at virtually every turn. While I admit that he had some horrendous things happen in his young life, those experiences may have taught him about cruelty and also healing, but they don't necessarily bring maturity. I never truly felt like he became anything more than a 19-year old boy who loved an older man and was at the cusp of life. His own personal evolution was a bit lacking though he does have great potential with someone like Kash at his side.

Tenderness and steam eventually came together once all the drama was behind them. Before that point there was either one or the other, but not a whole lot of the two combined. Both elements were held back at different times for one reason or another and once everything was all on the same page, the intensity that should have been there all along finally culminated into a really sweet ending. So while I can't really say this is my favorite story, there were some things that really did work that will likely speak to a whole lot of other readers. I'm mildly intrigued in the rest of the series because there are some truly interesting side characters and hints at connections that I'd really like to see pan out in the end. In that respect, drawing interest for more from their world and their real family, I'd say the story achieved its aim.

3,5 - ARC

This book was my first from the author, and I think she's a new author as well, because I only find 1 book from her on GR.

So if Kamisa Cole is a new author, then this book wasn't bad. I liked it, but it turned out not the book I wanted it to be.

I really enjoyed the first half of the book, I though 'yes, this book is a totally 5star read and would recommend to everyone' , but after a while it was really boring. I hate unnessecary dramas, and this book was full with it. Alec and Kash was full with themeself, they didn't know what they wanted. They wanted to be together, then on the next page they didn't. They believed that the age difference wasn't bad, but here comes the next page, and it turns out to be a probleme. At times Kash believed Alex was 19, then he didn't. It was confusing as hell. Nothing happened on the pages, I mean only one or two kiss and a blowjob?! I was bored to death, because I wanted to see something to happen. And that drama with Alec's father... it was the top priority of the book, but we got him only at the end? And come on, the book had ended and nothing happened with his father at all? And with Kash's jail time? What about all the things? So many thing stayed open and I hate when a story end with this.

So yeah, I loved reading it 60% - and the last 40% was boring. I am really sad because I thought it would be something good. And that cover, aww! That cover was the main reason I started this book, and I think it remains the best part of the book too.
Sad. Really really sad myself.

I'll be the first to tell you I'm not an avid MM reader, but man, this books gave me all the right feels. I loved Alec and Kash and everyone involved. Seriously, this group of people is exactly what you want to read about. Loyal to the core, caring and only ever a phone call away. Not to mention the hurt, pain and love between Kash and Alec 😍😍 I cannot wait to move further into this world.

[I received a digital arc for an honest review]

"I want you to lay claim on me just so I can lay claim on you."

Completely Changed is the first book in a new MM series by Kamisa Cole. An age gap romance between a young man and a member of the security team at his new job. I felt like the story had so much potential. Alec is nineteen and Kash is 32, yes it's a twelve-year age gap but I don't like when that's the main drama / focus of a story. That aspect, along with the dialogue not following at times brought down my rating. However, Completely Changed contains so many great characters from the other members of the security team to Alec's co-workers at DiverCity. This is the authors first MM novel and I think with growth this could become a fantastic series. I am looking forward to future releases in the series.

Trigger warning: the book contains homophobic slurs and Contains references to/and physical abuse.

This is a new to me author and I thoroughly enjoyed this story.
It centers on DiverCity an LGBT bar in Seattle and its employees.
Kash is the new head of security and is having issues with the owner because he's stepping into someone else's shoes.
Alec is a young man who shows up injured looking for a job.
There's an instant attraction between them
but Kash fights it and himself because of Alec's age.
Alec is dealing with fallout from being hurt
and learning how to navigate the world as an independent adult.
Circumstances keep contriving to through Kash and Alec together.
Kash has no experience with love because he's never felt it and he fears it will be the reason he and Alec won't stay together, not to mention he just won't stop obsessing over his age.
Alec just wants to treated as an adult, to be trusted he's component enough to be in charge of his own life.
After a terrible incident occurs, Kash realizes he needs to be honest and risk being vulnerable or he could lose Alec.
These men had a hard fought for and well deserved HEA.
I can't wait to continue this series and get to know the rest of the cast of characters.

*I voluntarily read this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else's*

Fantastic start to the series and if this book is anything to go by, it’s going to be one addictive one.

Alec may have been hurt, but he walked into the club with his head held high and that’s when I knew that this book would be amazing. The spark sizzled to life between Alec and Kash and I could happily get lost just watching them. Alec’s dirty mouth was a nice surprise, one that definitely intensified the chemistry between them to a whole new level.

Kash didn’t know what love really was or whether it even existed, but Alec made him want everything he never knew he wanted. Following his heart shouldn’t be hard but Kash made it look like a challenge, one that he eventually gave into. His insecurities about the age gap went on longer than it should have.

The characters stole my heart and I enjoyed every minute of this amazing story.

This is an intriguing story and a great start to a new series. All of the characters are amazing and I love Kash and Alec together. They have smoking hot chemistry and an interesting first meeting. I love how well Alec deals with adversity and his ability to move forward in spite of his homophobic father. Kash has so many great qualities as well in spite of his hang up about the age difference between him and Alec. I wish that there was a lot less angst about their age difference though as it really takes away from my enjoyment of this story at times. There are so many other aspects that could have been the focus as there are several surprising twists and some great side stories. The best part is all of the incredible secondary characters and I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Age difference romance with lots of fun characters.  I really enjoyed the many characters that made up DiverCity and the members of the security team. The story looks at some tough topics like family and love and i think the author does a good job developing the readers attachment to the characters.

I enjoyed Kash and Alec when they finally got together and the age thing got put mostly to rest.   I so want to learn more about most of  the characters we met in this first book in the DiverCity series.  i will be looking forward to seeing the next book in this series.
This is a good start for this author and their first MM novel. I have some unanswered questions from this book and am hoping that they get answered in the next book.

I was gifted this book from the LesCourt Author Services and i freely give my honest opinion and review.

For a first time author I thought Kamisa Cole did a great job. There were a couple troupes thrown in - bodyguard and age gap - and a plethora of characters introduced that could lead to exciting new stories in the future. Kash, the bodyguard, I staking over a new station with his team after a death on the prior security team. Through this he learns a lot about himself as well as about family. His first interaction with Alec, is when he stumbles into the bar to find a job covered in cuts and bruises. Alec is much younger and still has some growing up to do but cannot hide his attraction to Kash. There is a lot to the story line but all in all you get to the HEA you want for the two. Looking forward to some of the other characters' stories in the future.

3.75* so close to 4*.

There is nothing wrong with this book, it has great characters and a great idea for the storyline, I usually like an age gap story but for some reason that I can’t quite put my finger on this one doesn’t work for me. Maybe because the age gap and the to-ing and fro-ing that Kash and Alec did, seem to be it, it was the be all and end all of the story. I would have liked to have had more on the secondary subplots running through the book and their families outside of DiverCity.

As I said the characters, main and secondary are really well written and thought out, having a wide range of personalities making up the diversity family. This book also sets up following books that I would be willing to try.

Completely Changed by Kamisa Cole is the first book in the DiverCity series. It sets up the series about Seattle's Hottest LGBT friendly bar, DiverCity and dors a fantastic job building up interest for these characters. This book has drama, angst, suspense, humor, fun, steam and romance.

Kash Matchington and Alec McGowen are Hot and sweet and I loved watching them go through the stages of their relationship/connection. From pushing away, denying the chance to connect to realizing what they really could have, these two men had me captivated by their story. The supporting characters are just as entertaining and intriguing and I can not wait for their stories.

GREAT start to a new series! Alec and Kash grab you from the first chapter and don't let go! Alec is my champion; getting knocked down but not out and wanting to a fresh start to be happy. When he meets Kash chemistry flies and Kash is not prepared for everything Alec is making him feel. Kash is closed off and worried about things that he shouldn't be. They both work through their struggles. Sweet, sexy and passionate! I don't want to say too much but twist and turns fill this story and I couldn't put it down. This is looking like a amazing series with great characters to come. Can't wait for the next. I voluntarily reviewed an 'Advance Author’s Copy' of this book.

Well this is my first book by Kamisa and I have to say I’m probably going to go for more. I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Alec and Kash.
They had some problems going in and they were totally relatable. I understood where both men were coming from.
The way they solved their issues was at one point scary and I was terribly concerned. But things were resolved organically.

The romance was a lovely slow burn age gap with so much heat you need a fire extinguisher. She did a great job building the tension between the two as well as creating a loving relationship.

Can;t wait to see what comes next.

Alec comes to the bar to find a job to build his life after the brutality soon when he comes out to his father.

Kash is there to replace the last security head that passed away with his team.

Instantly attracted, Kash keeps himself back due to the age difference and the belief that love is a choice. As Alec pulls him closer, Kash still struggles with the emotional side of things. Then a few surprises come their way, good and bad, and both men must realize exactly what they are to each other.

This is a good start to a new series and look forward to more.

This was a new to me author and I enjoyed this book. This book has an age gap romance between head of security Kash and Alec, who is running from his abusive dad. There is family angst for both main characters, drama and plenty of chemistry. There are many support characters, others from the bar and security staff as well as some bikers and whilst we don't really get much insight into these characters there seems to be plenty of history and storylines that could show up in future books of the series.

Covers alot

This book covers a lot of things that could happen when coming out. It was a great way to start a series. You have Mash that grew up not believing in love it was a choose not a feeling and still believed that at thirty one. Then my heart broke for Alec. He was a nineteen year old coming out and his father almost broke him with the beating he gave him. But these two meeting at DiverCity bar helped heal each other. There love was so strong for each other. I can't wait for the next book in the series to see which set of friends would find their lasting love.

This is a new to me author and the start of a new series. This book features the bodyguard trope and has an age gap that those that love this trope will enjoy. I thought the book was well written but I felt like there was a bit too much emphasis on the age difference. It seemed like it took away from the character development just a smidge. This series has excellent potential and I hope that we will see cameo appearances from each couple throughout the series.

This story was occasionally shocking and so romantic. Fantastic characters that drew me in, sparkling, heartfelt and witty. I do believe age isn’t important and I got so impatient with Kass who just needed to get over it. I look forward to many more stories about Diver City.

This was a decent start to a new series. The main focus was the age difference between the two main characters, which took a lot away from the actual story. I really liked Both Kash and Alec, although I did feel that Alec did actually need more time to grow up. The grammar and spelling errors also took a lot away from the story for me, it needs to be edited.

Completely Changed is a May/December book between Alec and Kash. Kash is head of a security team for an LGBT club. Alec is the hurt when Kash first met him and the need to protect him is within. Alec and Kash's chemistry is something you will not be able to overlook. The book is sassy, flirty, romantic, some angst, and the sexy times are hot. All the characters helps the flow the book and enjoyed and I’m looking forward to the next book from this author.

This is the first book in The DiverCity Series. An interesting book the writing was okay. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters likable. The characters were developed and thought out. Alec and Kash are the MC’s of this book. I enjoyed this book, but I do hope the next book is cleaner and more consistent in the writing. This is a new series, and omg, it has some great foundation already. The author gave us developed main characters, a solid plot to engage in, action and a bit suspense, and of course some hot love going on.
I connected well with the characters, and sometimes I wanted to jump into the story and hug them so badly. I am really looking forward to the next book in this series.
