And it wasn't Keely. Despite her beauty, and his unfortunate attraction to her, she was everything he couldn't stand in a woman-- Flighty. Bubbly. Whimsical. The opposite of what he valued-- Stability. Dependability. Quiet. They butt heads at every turn. But when Tan and Keely get separated from the group and fall through a hidden portal, they have to work together to make it home. With only each other to rely on, Tan discovers he has more in common with Keely than he thought, and fighting his initial attraction proves useless. But with time running out, and danger lurking at every turn will they be able to make it back alive? Or will they be lost forever?

J.S. Striker lives on the west coast with her hubby and 2 Great Danes. The coast is full of magical forests, the mountains and ocean often giving her inspiration for her stories. Having worked as a social worker most of her adult life J.S. is now giving writing all her energy and loving every minute of it. Enjoy!
Another big hit for Ms. Striker and the Road Devils!
I really love the strong, silent man that can take charge no matter what happens. Tan is that man. Keely is the exact opposite. Plus, they can barely tolerate each other. When they get sidetracked on a mission they learn more about each other. Fighting demons, navigating a different land and escaping a glittering fairy they find themselves enjoying the time they are together. When they finally get back home, trouble followed them. Rivet and the Road Devils will join the fight to protect the pack and close the errant portals allowing demons access. I highly recommend this book and all of the Road Devils books. These are books that I reread when I need more adventure. This is an outstanding series.
Keely, a member of the Robinson wolf pack, sneaked out into the quiet night, navigating the tripwires protecting the pack lands from being breached. She had been developing her skills and successfully sneaked past the head guard. She made it through the forest and went to a tavern. The world had turned into a place where many of the supernaturals would enslave and torture humans. Keely sat at a small table listening to those around her to identify such hate groups and hopefully interfere to protect the innocent. This let her do something with her life that was meaningful and fulfilling. She flirted with one of the men and got the information she needed. Staying in their settlement in a women’s role was tame and unproductive.
But on her way back, someone came up behind her. When she recognized he was from the pack, she began to flirt with him; but the guy in front of her still said nothing. She shrugged and moved to go back when he gracefully moved in front of her. It was Tan, a stern wolf shifter, always serious about his role as one of the head guards, and impervious to her flirting. He was angry that she broke the rules and endangered their location. In fact, Tan doesn't like Keely’s reckless and irresponsible attitude toward life. But when they are thrown together through a demon portal, Tan throws himself on her to protect the avalanche of rocks. When he passes out from the injuries, she works on his dislocated shoulder and his leg, disinfecting and stitching up any deep wounds. Can they survive this place or are they trapped there permanently? Now each will see what the other is made of as they keep each other safe and try to find a way home. The safety of their pack also depends on it!
I thoroughly enjoyed this story which was comfortably-paced and had wonderful strong-willed characters. The banter between Tan and Keely keeps the reader chuckling throughout and it’s very satisfying to watch them develop a deep respect for the other. Grab your copy and enjoy a well-written book!
The Defender is approximately the sixth installment in this Road Devils MC series. J.S. Striker has a way of always creating new and varied characters, changing the action and consequences so each story is unique and can be read as a standalone.
Tan is a serious and dedicated Guard for his pack. As Second to the Alpha, his primary duty is to protect his Alpha and Pack, but when a pack member is found playing spy and endangering the Pack, he is sidelined into training this willful and disobedient pack member into a useful pack member and potential spy.
Keely does not want to settle for the traditional female roles in her pack. She wants adventure and to be a valuable member helping protect her pack. When she's caught outside of Pack boundaries, the man assigned to evaluate her abilities and possibly training her is the man who despises. Oh yea, this is going to be fun.
When they fall through a dimensional portal their lives and the Pack's existence will determine on just how well they can work together and trust each other.
There is lots of action, suspense, and great chemistry in this five-star story.

Once again we are meeting the road devils supernaturals that try to protect the humans among them This is time its Keeley and Tan's story
He is a alpha wolf defender and no matter how she uses her flirting skills she cannot win him over She is bored with just been a woman in their pack but twhat her pack doesn't know is that she sneeks out at night and finds out information to keep humans safe When sneaking back in to the pack lands one night she is discovered by Tan before he can say anything to her a demon portal throws them into an unknown world protecting her he is injured As she resets his shoulder and leg and stitches him up and nurses him will they develop feelings for one another and do they have a future together
A different take on MC clubs and shifters working to protect humans. Throw in some witches, warlocks, demons and others you have a nice melting pot of trouble that can explode at any time.
The female Keely is not a wolfe willing to settle for traditional roles in her pack. She needs to be valuable to her pack and resents being force to be pigeon holed.
Tan is the Alpha's second and for some reason does not respect her. Lets just say keep reading because these two will find themselves in a predicament that will test their perceptions of each other.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Defender by J. S. Striker is an Alpha Shifter Romance and can be read as stand alone. I loved this read! Keely is our badass heroine. Flirty, snarky and wanting to make a difference. Tan is our hero, tough, silent and sexy. This amazing story is a high octane, action packed adventure loaded with well developed characters and an addictive storyline. I love that there were strong secondary characters that were clamoring for attention! This quick read is a perfect anytime escape into a world designed to enthrall.

Tan thinks that Keely is a bit too care-free and flirts with anything in trousers. Keely thinks Tan has a stick up his backside! The last thing wither of them want is to have to work together. But that is exactly what happens on a mission when they fall through an unexpected portal and must depend on each other to get back home. I absolutely loved this book. Keely is not all that she appears, and Tan has to learn to trust and unbend a bit. I loved reading their journey together, it is not all plain sailing! I can easily recommend this book to anyone one looking for an exciting read with a few twists and turns.

I wasn't sure about Keely at first. She initially came across and juvenile and irresponsible, but she grew on me as the story progressed. Tan I thought was a good counter point to her, he was a bit more reserved and controlled. It took them being trapped for them to being to see beyond the surface with each other, but the tension that built during that period was smoking and served as a good base for what came after.
I liked getting glimpses of some of the Road Devils, not so much that they overwhelmed the story, but just enough to tie this story to the series.
Defender.Great story involving more shifters along with magic. I had to remember some of the characters because it's been a while since I read this series. The adventure that Keely wanted to go on so desperately was exciting. Her and Tan, not quite friends, discovered they had to depend on each other in order to survive. In that process they became closer than friends. They developed a relationship that would last forever. This centers on the wolf pack that had been attacked by the witch and warlock in the Road Devil's book. Tan is a guard and Keely is on the path trying to fulfill her dreams, whatever that may be. They are out on a mission with teens from the Road Devil's when they stumble across something that shouldn't be there. I hope this is a start to a new series tying in with the Road Devil's. Read the Road Devil's series first everything ties in together. J. S. Striker's books aren't to be missed, they are amazing. Action, humor, hot men, beautiful women mixed with magic they keep you turning the pages. I'm glad that this series is in KU which is how I read it.
This is part of a series and is better read in order but it can be read on its own and enjoyed ( you just miss out on knowing who some of the characters are ). A hot and steamy shifter romance with a good heavy dose of action and adventure mixed in . I am sure there are going to be more books in this series so make sure to catch up to get maximum enjoyment from them .

***I recieved an free ARC in exchange for an honest review.*** This is a quick (well it would have been if I didn't keep losing my spot 🤣), easy and entertaining read. Keely and Tan are quite the opposites on the surface but we come to realize they both just really have the best interests of the pack in mind, they just have different ways of achieving that. I've said it before and I'll say it again...Striker can write one hell of a sex scene! I gave it only four stars because I like more shifting in my "shifter" stories.
This book is a continuation of the Road Devils MC story featuring 2 shifters from Jared's wolf pack, Tan and Keely. The story has lots of paranormal activity, demon action, feisty heroine's and new creatures. The book keeps you hooked from beginning to end. There are appearances from old favourites from previous books. A brilliant continuation of the series. Cannot wait for the next one or even better the next box set!

Wow! The action and adventure in this book was just fun to read. It was great seeing cameos from the MC club and having them work with the wolf pack really brought the full world these books are based in to life. Tan and Keeley were a fun couple to read. I have read other books from this author and really enjoy the world building and all the unique characters. I definitely recommend having this book on your reading list.

I received a copy of this book from BookSprout and I voluntarily chose to review it. This was a wonderful story and it was well written. I loved the characters, they work well together and neither one makes anything off the other one. They learn to work together. I don't do spoilers so get this book and find out haw special this book is. For me this was a quick easy read. I didn't want to put it down.
This book was OK, but I really had a hard time getting into the book. I can't even say that there was anything bad about the book, I honestly have to say it's me not the book. The heroine was hard to like and the hero was so distant for a while. Once I finally got into the story and what was going on I enjoyed it, but I really had a hard time getting to that point.

This book started out a little slow for me, but I kept going and I'm glad I did. I couldn't put it down. I really enjoyed this story between Tan and Keely. I did like that it was not an insta-love and this was something that developed between them. This is a fast but enjoyable read.

Great read. Keely and Tan are opposites. Where one is fun the other is dependable. What are these feelings, they are so different. Can they prove to each other what really matters? Can they protect each other and the pack? Can they fight their feelings for each other or will they give in?

Another entertaining read by one of my favorite authors. And how much fun to have A few Road Devil members show up from another series! I loved Tan and his rugged protectiveness even if it was in spite of himself. And Keely was a joyful spark of light that made me smile. Loved it.
Loved the way the relationship ship developed between Tan and Keely. This was different to the other books in the series and evolved mainly around the two of them. I really enjoyed it and how things progressed. I was surprised about the glittery creature, I didn’t see that coming. I’m looking forward to reading more about them in the future.
Loving the off the rails chemistry between Keely and Tan. They are fresh, intriguing and compellingly intense. Love the delightful and heated banter and riveting story that’s enticing and wonderfully engaging.

Tan and Keely initailly have no respect for each other, nor is there any liking but there is lust. It will take a trip through a portal, danger, trauma and more in order for them to really see each other, appreciate, like and allow the lust, love and chemistry a real chance for them to have a HEA.
This was a great read. Well written full of adventure and surprises. Keely is a flirt and she wants more out of her life. Tan is serious about his job. He needs to loosen up and have fun. Great read from start to finish.

Fab read throughout. Characters were fun and engaging. The storyline was super. I was gripped throughout. Not to be missed I recieved a free copy and this is my honest review
Good story. Has some good action. I love Tan and Keely characters. Not many others involved but mentioned. Neither particularly cared about the other. Both had to trust the other to survive.
