In this humorous yet emotional follow-up to Banks's mainstream title debut, "Some Girls Do," self-made spa owner Delilah Montague's life is about to be changed forever by a handsome next-door neighbor who's not what he seems. Original.
Leanne Banks was born on 14 May 1959 in Roanoke, Virginia, USA. She holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology, which she claims she can only use on fictional characters. When her first book was published in 1991, she used the money from her advance to take her family to Disney World.
Leanne is known for telling a story with strong emotion, characters with whom everyone can relate, a kick of hot sensuality, and a feel-good ending that lingers. She believes in creating stories for her readers that will allow them to escape into a place filled fun, emotion and sensuality. She believes that she has the best readers in the world because they understand that love is the greatest miracle of all.
Leanne is the recipient of Romantic Times Magazine's career-achievement awards in Series Sensuality and Love and Laughter, and her books have been recognized by the Award of Excellence Contest, the Romance Writers of America RITA Award contest and the National Readers' Choice Awards. She is grateful for awards and reviews and was particularly moved by a letter from a reader remarking that Leanne's book got her through a chemotherapy session. The reader's letter inspired a favorite turn of phrase: Never underestimate the power of a romance novel.
Leanne lives in her native Virginia with her husband, two teenage children and a Pomeranian. She also has a little condo in South Carolina where she writes in the off-season. She loves music, chocolate, quotes, and new adventures.
Enjoyed it while it lasted. Take it for what it is: light, mindless romantic fluff with hardly any depth. Characters were neither good nor bad, memorable nor forgettable. The heroine started to annoy me with her putting out towards the end. I understood her motivations, so I guess what grated on my nerves was not so much her actions but the why in which that part of her personality was executed by the author. I wouldn't recommend rushing out to get this book. However, give it a shot if you don't have anything else better to read.
I read romance novels in part because they end with a HEA. When She's Bad by Leanne Banks is fun opposites attract romance and I enjoyed reading it. Delilah and Benjamin Huntington III come from vastly different worlds but they enter each other's worlds because they are neighbors. The relationships between secondary characters Robert (Benjamin's brother) and Lily, and Sara and Paul are interesting and fun to read about. The reason I gave this book a 4 star rating is because at times it got too steamy for my tastes.
I really liked the hero, but the heroine had issues. The side romance needed to be a little fleshed out or less prominent. I didn't like the issue of a baby from a man old enough to have an adult daughter and a teenager. Maybe it wouldn't have been such a problem for me, except the dirty old man was now dead and being made out to be a hero. I realize I have an issue with taking advantage of young girls and it may not bother others.
My husband said that the title must have been a pun on Bank's writing as well as the title character. I read Underfoot recently, and it was cute, so I picked this one up. it is like a bad carbon copy of Underfoot. Even the sex scenes are embarrassingly poorly written. I read romance novels because they have happy endings and are generally cheerful books. but this particular one, I felt my IQ dropping more the further I read it. so I stopped reading it. addendum: I admit it. I picked it back up out of morbid curiosity. and the book DID get better. still not the best writing she's written, much less that anyone else has written. However, it was not as bad as I thought it might be. the ending made me happy. Like any good romance should. :)
I read this book because I loved the first book in this series, Some Girls Do, and Leanne Banks is one of the few romance writers I like. That being said, I was kinda disappointed with this book. Some Girls Do was so much better. The main character of this one, Delilah, was very annoying. It seemed like her only traits were "sexy and self-proclaimed bad ass". Her life revolves around thinking everyone wants to fuck her. The only reason I gave this book 3 stars was because the side stories were enough to hold my attention until the end. Not a total waste of time, because the last 50 pages I really enjoyed, but wouldn't recommend.
Hilarious! Had me rolling on the floor, laughing my butt off. I love the main heroine. She's got spunk and determination, and yet underneath all that, she's very much human and vulnerable. The plot was a bit far fetched but Banks somehow pulls it off and keeps the reader entertained. The delicious chemistry between the unlikely pair doesn't hurt either.
This was a sweet love story and just a good story in general. Delilah is an admirable, strong-willed heroine and Benjamin Huntington III is the perfect sexy-neighbor. The story ties in with other books (which I've yet to read) but stands alone.
It was really good, what bothered me was Delilah kept making exucses on not liking Benjamin urrgg that really got to me, but overall it was a really good book, i love Leanne Banks books!
