Just when I did not think this series could get any better! This second book had me at the edge of my seat gripping the pages. I absolutely love these main characters. Their story will stay with for a long time. The storyline is interesting,  the characters develop perfect, and the tension keeps you wanting more. Highly recommend this book!

Book 2 in the Hestaesia series is a beautiful continuation of this wonderful fantasy world that K.L. Thorne has created. Slow burn, plenty of tension without being angsty, and a little spice. V!rg!n FMC, forbidden romance, faeries and demons, unlikely friends.
We know that Haros was captured by the King’s men in the first book in the series. Through a series of incredibly lucky breaks, he is chosen as Sivelle’s thrall and protector. Sivelle is Lori’s older sister, as you may recall from the first book. Haros and Sivelle develop an unusual friendship that turns into so much more.
I cannot rave about this book enough! This series is quickly becoming one of my all-time favorites, and I’m only through the second book! It’s so easy to jump right into the story. Often in romantasy, it’s difficult to relate to some of the main characters… but not in this book! The books in this series are interconnected standalones with an overarching storyline, so while this one can be read by itself, you’ll enjoy it much more if you’ve read the first one.

Well this was an exciting read! I have to say these books gets me giggling a lot at some of the things that happen, or are said😂. It is funny, happy, sad, distressing at times, and an entertaining read, which has plenty of action, sizzling and otherwise 😂. Loved Nyre, I hope I get to read more about him/her.
Love this series so much 🥰🥰

Steamy fantasy

I don't always read blurbs before I read a book so I only knew this was a steamy mistaken identity, captive turned bodyguard, she's inexperienced and sh|t hits the fan forbidden love between a faerie princess and a demon warrior (so ps the kings on both sides get big mad 😉 )....

It was exciting and engaging but I do suggest checking out the trigger warnings.

I'm not usually a fantasy reader but this series has me hooked.

Spice: 🌶️🌶️

The second book in the Hestaesia series, I loved reading about Haros and Sivelle. This one takes place right after Haros gets taken as prisoner after the king's men try to take out Lori from the first book. Injured and in prison, Haros tries to think of ways to get out that won't get him killed, but doesn't seem to come up with any. Lucky for him Sivelle is granted the gift to take a thrall. Being the princess, though she doesn't hold a lot of power, she does have some ways to make it easier for him to figure out a way to get back to King Zelrus. The minute that he sees Sivelle in the prison, he's immediately attracted to her, and sets his sight on seducing her while he's stuck as her thrall. He later finds out that Sivelle isn't the type to so easily be seduced, and that helps him to start to fall in love with her.

Sivelle is the oldest of her sisters, but the most inexperienced of them all when it comes to a lot. As the oldest, she has always felt it was her duty to do as her father asked of her and to play mediator between him and her younger sisters. So, when her thirtieth birthday is approaching and she feels the loss of her sisters leaving the most, she asks for something she hasn't been expecting. A thrall. her father agreeing is another surprise but, of course it comes with stipulations. Her Thrall must be a eunuch..... Something that Haros definitely is not. With a little bit of luck though, when Sivelle meets him, she's convinced that he is one due to his paperwork that was botched in the dungeons, and by Haros telling her that he knew her sister, Lori, from the first book. In no time things get serious between them, and they aren't able to deny the feelings that they have for one another, no matter how complicated things get.

K.L. Thorne did a great job once again in this story. I loved Sivelle's stubbornness, and even though she irritated me with how she continues to try to be loyal to her father from fear of experiencing something new, she came around. I also wonder if Mivian is going to make another appearance in the future books, or what might happen with her.

When your 30th birthday present becomes way more than expected.

After being captured by the faerie kings guards Haros finds himself in the prison. He ends up being mistaken for a different prisoner named Harris and this turns out to be the best possible situation for what he was sure would be a quick death.

Sivelle is the oldest and most prudish of the faerie princesses. Since both of her sisters have escaped the castle she has been kept as a prisoner in her room. When summoned by her father regarding her 30th birthday she is given a surprise present. Her father gives instructions for her to go to the prison and purchase herself a thrall, of course he stipulates that this thrall must be a eunuch. Sivelle is surprised by this gift and recalls her sisters teasing she should buy one to help her loosen up and get some experience.

Sivelle finds herself looking through the men offered under her fathers specifications and finds them all to be very underwhelming. The guard showing her the thralls is apalled to offer her the last option as he is a demon but she insists on seeing him. What she finds in the last cell is a gorgeous demon who would be perfect to protect her so she can move about the cast again without a guard.

As Haros is moved into the princesses chambers he realizes this is the best option for him finding a way to escape back to the demon city. As he enjoys his new freedoms as personal slave to the princess he also deals with an attraction unlike anything he has ever known. Follow as he accidently lets out that he is very much intact and the princess shows just how much of a prude she is.

Follow as the story unfolds into surprising twists and turns. Sivelle will get an unexpected raven from her sisters on her birthday and will be gifted a lovely Dragon from Haros. The dragon will be able to deliver a message to her sisters and receive a reply hoping she will attempt to escape when Haros finally leaves.

Sivelle will discover many things about herself, her sisters, Haros, her uncle and most importantly about her father. What will happen when she starts to discover the truths her father has hidden.

🩶🧡 In Chains Review 🧡🩶

Thanks so much to KL Thorne for the opportunity to read and review this book!

In Chains is a fantasy romance and book two in the Hestaesia series. While helping his friends Lori and Lephas escape, Haros has been captured by the Fae soldiers. After a paperwork mishap, he’s pulled into the local slave market where he’s found by Princess Sivelle. Knowing that this is his best opportunity to stay alive, Haros convinces the princess to buy him, but will he get more than he bargained for?

This was such a fun read and a great continuation of this series! I really enjoyed learning more about Haros! Sivelle was a great character and I loved her growth throughout this book! I really enjoyed the continued world building and politics of the series - and am definitely looking forward to reading more in this world

Overall this was a five star read for me! I loved the characters and the story!! This book did have some darker themes, so definitely check triggers if you’re sensitive. This book also had some great spice throughout, so overall three flames for spice

If you’re a fan of fantasy romance reads with fun characters, forced proximity, interesting world building and fun banter, then absolutely pick this series up! Even though this can technically be read as a standalone, I’d absolutely recommend reading them in order as there is an overarching storyline.

In Chains by K.L. Thorne is book two in the Hestaesia series. Innocence, more forbidden love, slow burn and finally they come together. For her 30th birthday gift, Faerie King Lazuli offers his daughter Princess Seville a thrall. The options are few but she finds herself drawn to demon warrior Haros. Little does she know that he’s the demon who was just captured while helping her sister Princess Lori escape. He already has plans of escaping back to Banesteppe brewing, but will he be able to pull it off living in such close quarters to royalty?

More great character and world building, I could vividly picture each scene in my head as I read. I loved reading about the new characters such as Seville’s handmaiden Mivian. I hope she and their new dragonette Nyre end up in another one of the series books. I find myself even more attached to these characters and I’m anxious to read book three, After Dark.

We are back in the world of hestaesia with book 2 in the series, I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into it, I just needed to know what was coming next.

This one is about lori's sister sivelle and the demon Haros. And boy what a story it was, it had me gripped from the start I could not for the life of me put it down, not for a min.

This took me on a wild rollercoaster ride, my emotions where all over the place. I was on the edge of my seat , gripping my device so tight.

The characters are amazing, the storyline excellently done. It's action packed with spice, banter, forced proximity, mystery and loads more.

If you haven't read any books in this series, I encourage you to do so, your missing out. Highly recommend

Blown away! This is the only way to describe Book Two of the Hestaesia Series.

I was interested in knowing more about Haros from the first book. Well I got my answers while reading this one and it did not disappoint. Haros has been held as a prisoner and gets a reprieve when the Princess Sivelle comes looking for a thrall. He helps Sivelle live a little and experience life.

The relationship between Haros and Sivelle was very natural and I really felt the connection between the two. They genuinely cared about the other. They were perfect together and for each other. I can't wait to read the next books in the series as it keeps getting better and better.

In Chains is book 2 in the Hestaesia Series of interconnected standalones. After reading book 1 I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next in this world. This is Sivelle’s Story. She is Lori’s sister. Haros is a demon, and he ends up being her servant. The chemistry between them is super palatable. This book is action packed and with some spice thrown in. I love it and can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

As always be mindful of trigger warnings, what I like you may not.

Happy Reading!

Overlapping with events from book one, I felt like I had never left this world. Sivelle is just trying to survive her father's control when Haros shows up to flip her world right side up. The tension is immediate and sizzling, though the build-up is worth it in the end. I loved the side characters in this story as much as I did for book one. I really hope we see more of Mivian and Dori. And Nyre! Now I want a dragonette. *looks at my dog unsatisfied* I'm looking forward to seeing the story continue to play out as this series goes on.

The second book in this series was just as good as the first. The action, plot, enemies to lovers, forbidden romance, the characters were just amazing.

The faerie king I won't say much other than I hope he gets hurt.

This one is a bit darker at times so be mindful, there are mentions of sl**ery, r**e and m***er.

But I throughly enjoyed the book jumping straight into the next

Harros

This is Sivelle and Harros' story. Now we start out with Harros being put in jail, not the best situation at all but with a little magical help he's sent to be a slave. Which is where he nests Sivelle. There are some ups and downs but they end up coming together and it's so sweet and beautiful.

I was really looking forward to the second book in this series, and it didn't disappoint!
We get a different couple this time - Sivelle, Lori's older sister, and Haros, one of Lephas's fellow soldiers. We only had a glimpse of Haros in Lost in Love but I absolutely loved his character, so it was great to see more of him here!
Since this book is set in a castle rather than on the road, there are more characters for the MCs to play off and more opportunities for witty dialogue! Haros really is wonderful, but I love how Sivelle comes out of her shell throughout the book and becomes more comfortable with herself and her desires. (Her desires get a lot of attention - the steamy scenes really are steamy!!)
We actually meet King Lazuli this time and can see why Lori and Faye ran away - he's a nasty piece of work! I feel like it gives more background to Lori's story, too, and helps it all come together as a whole.
All in all, a great read, and I can't wait for book three!
