Leanne Banks was born on 14 May 1959 in Roanoke, Virginia, USA. She holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology, which she claims she can only use on fictional characters. When her first book was published in 1991, she used the money from her advance to take her family to Disney World.

Leanne is known for telling a story with strong emotion, characters with whom everyone can relate, a kick of hot sensuality, and a feel-good ending that lingers. She believes in creating stories for her readers that will allow them to escape into a place filled fun, emotion and sensuality. She believes that she has the best readers in the world because they understand that love is the greatest miracle of all.

Leanne is the recipient of Romantic Times Magazine's career-achievement awards in Series Sensuality and Love and Laughter, and her books have been recognized by the Award of Excellence Contest, the Romance Writers of America RITA Award contest and the National Readers' Choice Awards. She is grateful for awards and reviews and was particularly moved by a letter from a reader remarking that Leanne's book got her through a chemotherapy session. The reader's letter inspired a favorite turn of phrase: Never underestimate the power of a romance novel.

Leanne lives in her native Virginia with her husband, two teenage children and a Pomeranian. She also has a little condo in South Carolina where she writes in the off-season. She loves music, chocolate, quotes, and new adventures.

Light read that had two romances developing. I liked Wilhemina and wanted her to get her happily ever after. This is a cute contemporary romance.

I wanted to read this book because of the side character, Wilhelmina, but the leading lady grated on my nerves so badly I couldn't finish.

Katie it is ashamed of her mother unabashedly taking many lovers when she was alive and it is used to illustrate how low class Katie feels her past is; maybe this is made better by character development I didn't get to, but the fact we have to learn about it through this pseudo-schizophrenia where Katie's mother's talks for her vagina falls just short of unintentionally funny.

Either do literal talking vaginas or don't do them at all.

But the worst part is the author's failed attempt to make Katie clever and witty. Telling a guy he has a small dick is not funny and is so overplayed. Stop doing it.

I fucking mean it. No one make this joke anymore.

Quick tip to aspiring authors who think they can write funny characters, if people tell you that you have a dark sense of humor it isn't true; if your sense of humor was truly dark you would be the only one left laughing because everyone else would be dead.

And stop making those fucking small dick jokes.

I gave this book 5 stars for the pure fun factor and making my kids look at me weird for laughing out loud while reading a book...

A fun start to a series. Katie, a personal assistant to a wealthy, powerful man named Ivan, has been tasked to find a husband for his daughter while he and his current wife go on vacation. He has also tasked Michael, a security company owner who wants to win a business deal with Ivan, with researching prospective suitors. However, once things go awry at a local party, Michael and Katie must travel to Texas to bring back Ivan’s daughter who travels there chasing a fairy tale romance. Along the way Michael and Katie get to know each other and reveal more about their family pasts and learn to allow themselves to be vulnerable around each other. I loved the characters, especially Ivan’s daughter and Katie. The family elements added some nice depth. I read the ebook, which had some strange, persistent typos.

Katie is an assistant to a businessman. She had a rough upbringing and her mother lost custody of her two sisters. She takes care of her deaf younger brothers needs. The story is trite and the characters naive. Ivan, the businessman, goes off on honeymoon with his 6th wife and leaves Katie to attend to his 24yo daughter. He proposes that she find his daughter a man. In short slapstick ridiculousness, the daughter runs away to Texas to find a cowboy. Katie and hired security run after her . They all fall in love, families are reunited, a windfall of money rains down, there are shotgun weddings and everyone lives happily ever after.

loved the story but …

This is the first time I’ve read a book by this author. I really enjoyed the story line. The characters were well developed and relatable. The problem with the book was an apparent lack of editing. The typos and grammar errors made it difficult to read the book. Please find an editor.

Light fluffy read with some points about not judging a book by it's cover...

I actually enjoyed the storyline & the characters, surprisingly. There are some funny bits, and it's an easy, entertaining read. The dual love stories keeps the read from becoming too dull & dragging.
I might have rated this higher, but frankly, I almost didn't make it past the first chapter. The editing in this book is horrendous-- scores of typos, missing punctuation, and random punctuation throughout. At times, the phrasing seemed overdone & redundant as well, taking what otherwise read as smart, flowing narrative into the realm of silly & juvenile. Storyline 3.5 stars; everything else, 2.0 stars

I could grouse about bad writing, poor descriptions, improbable situations, etc, but why? I enjoyed this book for exactly what it was. Brain candy. I read it in less than 24 hrs and enjoyed it thoroughly. It will never win any prizes, and there were more than a few groan-worthy moments, but it was light-weight fun.

This was a decent read. It would've been better if Katie hadn't gone to such an extreme trying not to be like her mother. It was incredibly over the top which was extremely weird given she was okay acting just like her mother in some instances. It was a little annoying and inconsistent but still an overall okay read.

I liked her 'shoe' series and decided to check out the earlier works. I like the way she writes. I read for escape and for entertainment and this fulfilled those requirements. Liked the story...it was a little quirky, predictable with a happy ending included...what more could you want?

I really, really liked "Some Girls Do." The characters were fun, the plot enjoyable, and the writing style was delightful. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author and I highly recommend this book. Contains graphic sex and language.

Decent story despite the rushed ending; however, the typos and grammatical mistkes are too distracting.
