If you see the title of this book, "I Am a Leader," and think it isn't pertinent because you don't see yourself as a leader, I strongly urge you to think again, read the book, and realize that, according to Dr. Angie Ward, "If you have influence, you are a leader." Whether you are seeking where and how God is calling you or you have been settled comfortably in your calling for sometime now or you sense God preparing you for something brand new, "I Am a Leader" will be a great resource and guide for you. The overall message of the book is excellent, and I appreciate some particular aspects of the book. Dr. Ward did a great job of weaving her own story throughout. She opens up and shares deeply, but she uses her story to illustrate, not to make her story the story. She also uses Scripture throughout the book in a way that is completely relevant to the topics she shares. And the topics she talks about are all relevant to issues women have when it comes to their calling! And finally, she has done a great amount of research, from reading books and articles to interviewing about 50 women in various roles and types of leadership and ministry. She shares much wisdom from all of these resources.
