"Guardian Angel" is the story of Talia and Trace.
Talia McKenzie needs funds for her LAM charity, and decides to approach long term donor Trace Barringer for it, not knowing he would take active interest in the charity.. and her!
While Trace and Talia share a forgotten (by him) childhood memory, there is more animosity between the McKenzie and Barringer family for what they did to Talia's brother Kevin.
Hence while Talia tries to stay away and keep herself immune, Trace relentlessly pursues her with his charming smile and light hearted attitude. Soon the demons of their pasts collide. Will love and trust conquer it all?
The first half of the book was really strong. I loved how sweet Trace was towards Talia, and that he did not have a single mean bone in his body. The second half however is riddled with drama- did not like how both Talia and Phillip did not tell Trace the truth, and kept pushing him around in search for it- while he put his heart out for her.
Sweet ending but I wish we got to know a little bit more about Valerie and Kevin.

H : Sweet smitten H. Loves the h, pursues her. Is very understanding and caring.

h : She liked the H but was apprehensive as he was a family enemy, which he didn’t knew about that. She tried to always run away from him. I think she should have been clear about why she was apprehensive from start itself.

OVERALL : Sweet story. 1st half was interesting. 2nd half got dull.

This was a DNF for me. The writer has a smooth style and set up a nice contrast between the scrappy, salt of the earth deli owner of Italian extraction (h) and the town’s richest heir, tanned, blond and blue-blooded (H). However, the guy makes extremely inappropriate comments to the h at the very beginning of the relationship that clearly signal that he is not a good guy. Just can’t overlook that.
