A normal year is not in the freakin’ cards…

Maeve and her friends start their second year at Spellcrest Academy, where they've advanced to the class of medials.

On day one, Maeve finds a mysterious crystal skull on her bed. When she touches it, she’s instantly transported to the lonely tower with six other mystified Master Classmen.

During that meeting, Maeve is introduced to a secret society made up of Spellcrest’s elite, positioned to make profound impacts on the world after graduation. The only problem is the fact she’s a medial tapped to join a secret society intended for Master Classmen. Naturally, Maeve’s presence isn’t universally appreciated.

As the candidate challenges mount and secrets are revealed, Maeve suspects she may not have been chosen for her elite status, but for a much more sinister purpose. And when she discovers the truth, it may be too late to save herself, her friends, and quite possibly the entire Academy…

A whole new adventure is about to begin with the thrilling fourth book of the Spellcrest Academy series.

This is very clearly YA, but Michael Pierce has such an amazing world -building skill. Maeve is still annoying, but getting a little bit better...iguess

“I’ve been through some shit and come out the other side—alive,” I said.
“Well, I for one am glad you survived.”
“Thanks, me too. I’m assuming it sucks to be dead.”
Maeve starts her sophomore, or Medial, year at Spellcrest. She's introduced to a secret society and a possible new Big Bad. I still don't trust Devon. Or Toby. Ivanic gets more storytime and some character development but the advances are getting a bit annoying. It seems like the boys in this series don't understand what the word no means. I don't like the message that sends. Guy, sadly, wasn't in this book much and I don't think he and Maeve are going to happen at this point. *sad face* I liked learning more about Maeve's family history. As always, Medial Candidate was an addicting read I didn't want to put down and stayed up past bedtime to finish.

Maeve

Now in her 2nd year at Spellcrest, Maeve gets an invitation to join a secret society. The head of this society is a vampire and was Maeve's Mothers first roommate at Spellcrest.

They won, or did they? People died, or did they? Things just get stranger and stranger for Maeve and company.

Maeve is back at Spellcrest Academy and ready to start the new school year as a medial. But more adventures await her. Just as soon as the classes start, she gets an invitation to join a super secret society in the form of a crystal scull on her bed. What is this secret society? And why have they invited her to become a member? Is there an ulterior motive?

Once again Maeve gets embroiled in danger and there are more secrets to be revealed. This new installment of the Spellcrest Academy is just as action-packed, thrilling, exciting adventure, that will keep you rooted to your ereader!

We have a lot of suspense in this book. Maeve is back to school with her family around and rooming with her best friends. She receives a skull and now she is invited to the secret society that is only for the master craftsman. Now she needs to figure out why and can she make it? Why are their always some other students giving her trouble? What is her mother looking into? Can her friends and new friends save her? Will her other classmates kill her or ruin her chances? Can she trust her family she finally got back?

This is book 4 in the Spellcrest Academy and it’s Maeve’s second year at the academy, she finds a crystal skull on her bed and when she touches it she is transported to the lonely tower where she is invited to join the secret society called Skulls and Spells and Maeve finds someone in the society who wants her powers. Another amazing addition to this series and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book and I highly recommend this book/ series it’s definitely well worth the read.

Maeve is back at Spellcrest Academy for her second year as a Medial. A lot has happened over the summer and one positive outcome is having the entire Rhoades clan has been reunited. With the addition of Quinn. And Maeve's mother is now working at Spellcrest as the "den mother" at Rainley Hall, named after Maeve's mother's family. Did I mention that her family was rich now and that Maeve has a whole new wardrobe. Nothing fancy but improved over her old clothes.

Maeve gets tapped by a secret society Skulls and Spells to join them as a candidate. There are only seven new candidates each year, normally chosen from the Senior class. Maeve is an exception, which doesn't go over very well with most of the other candidates. And some of the Alumni, which includes Devon. Going to be a fun year.

And naturally someone, or more than one, are after Maeve's Seamstress needle. This book doesn't slow down and by the end I was emotionally spent. You will be too. The books keep getting better. Can't wait till book five comes out.

I received an ARC of this ebook to read and give an honest review. This is a fantastic series. And you can't read just one book. They are addictive in a good way.

Maeve has made it through her first year at Spellcrest Academy, but evil people keep trying to steal her power

Maeve went from being an orphan and having only her brother who ended up betraying her because of the power of the seamstress's needle. In her second year (Medial) her parents have been restored and her and her brother are improving their relationship. Leave has been invited to join the secret Skulls and Spells society, but it seems that someone in that group is intent on stealing her power. Thankfully, she has friends who are always looking out for her.

Maeve is hoping for a boring second year but that does not happen. She is asked to join a secret society that normally only picks upper classmen. As she goes through the process, it becomes clear that there are very few people in this society that can be called friends. Maeve is still surrounded by secrets but learning them might change her.

Book 4 gave us an insight into the back story of Maeve's family. It was great learning how things came about. Maeve is constantly being challenged and having to change and grow. Its a very good read for a lazy weekend. Looking for forward to what will happen next.

Maeve is back to school as a medial. Many exciting happenings are in store for her and mysteries to solve. She has a few challenges to overcome in order to become a member of the elite group known as the Skull and Spells pledgeship program. She had to pass a very grueling test which was well depicted by Mr Pierce. She was up against many new creatures never seen in this world before such as dragons and other shapeshifters. She came away with many injuries and deep burns but was determined not to give up. Following the test she found that her room had been ransacked as if someone was after her needle. Without it she would lose many of her powers. Towards the end of the book she discovers why. But of course we won’t discover what happens next until the next book, which I will be waiting for with bated breath. This is a wonderful story especially for the YA crowd (and those who still think they are YA).

Every time I read another book in this series I say I like it more than the last, but with the storyline progression to the secret society I really really loved this book. I love the dynamics to get in and within the members of the secret society. I especially enjoyed the new love triangle with Maeve, Toby and Devon, oh and Ivanic too! I really am wishing I didn’t have to wait for book 5.
