On a warm, summer night in 1973, Tammy Palmer simply disappeared. Now, she’s valiantly trying to help solve that mystery, struggling to communicate through her beloved camera. And she’ll bring two soul mates together in the process.

Nate Palmer is pulled from his safe, invisible life in the Charlotte, North Carolina by an unexpected request from his father: clean out the family home and get it ready to sell. That’s going to be a big job. The house is filled with items collected over sixty years and the haunting memory of a missing girl that was never found.

Creed Autry is barely holding on with a part-time job. In fact, he’s just been evicted from his apartment. The chance to work with Nate Palmer cleaning out one of the biggest and oldest homes in town is more than an opportunity-it’s a temporary roof over his head.

Both men’s lives are about to be turned upside down by a mystery brought to life by what appears to be an old, broken camera. But what neither of them realizes is that there are people who will do just about anything to keep what really happened a secret.

Will Nate and Creed figure out what happened to Tammy Palmer? And will the two men finally admit that their attraction for each other goes far beyond the physical?

In the beginning this book was an enjoyable little murder mystery tied in with a nice slow burning romance. But honestly the ending ruined the whole thing. Not only were there plot holes and things that were started but never finished, but in the end... everything was just wrapped up way to nicely. Not only was it wrapped up to nicely... but it’s like it wasn’t even a big deal...

Murder? Meh only on Mondays... and don’t worry... it’s not a big deal...

There was also a few minor editing issues, I wouldn’t even mention them except my biggest peeve is the missing “quotation mark”....

This was good, but I felt very bored at times. Would recommend if you’re into M/M Murder Mysteries!

Kindred Spirits by D. J. Monroe is a supernatural mystery with a side of romance.

Nate Palmer’s father wants the old family home sold before he dies, so Nate heads out to figure out how to clean out the house stuffed with decades of things and memories as well as get it ready for sale.

Creed Autry – a school mate of Nate’s – has just lost his job, so it is a welcome happenstance that he runs into Nate and agrees to work with him on the house.

While they are working on the house, they look through an old camera belonging to Nate’s aunt, Tammy, who disappeared as a preteen – assumed to have either run away or been murdered. As they look through the camera, they see visions of clues leading to the resolution of Tammy’s disappearance – one clue at a time.

The story ends with a very believable and satisfying resolution. A very enjoyable read.

Intrigue by Murder Mystery who did it with Ghostly intervention? This is your book - bonus romance!

A mystery that occurred so many years ago "a family hidden secrets" - murder and who did it! This is a good suspenseful mystery to unravel. Add in ghostly intervention for a fresh spin. Hate has to close up & sell his family house. Creed is at that right place at the right time. The sparks, mystery and chemistry are sizzling up. V2, S2

Great Read

Very sweet storyline; not enough mystery but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I would recommend this author books to other readers.

The book started off reasonably well. I guessed whodunnit very early on, which is unusual for me, but that didn't bother me much. The characters were interesting enough that I wanted to keep reading.

In the end, it all turned out to be a bit--less than I anticipated. The denouement of the murderer's name was clearly telegraphed far in advance, and it was all wrapped up just a little too easily. Along the way, there were plenty of opportunities for some meaty, emotional scenes, but the author glided past those in favor of wrapping everything up neatly.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed reading it. It just wasn't all I hoped it would be.

Although I enjoyed the idea of Tammy's spirit using the camera to provide clues to her murder, overall the book didn't make sense. Also, there should have been better editing.

This is a well written and absorbing story of Nate and Creed who are caught up in a cold case mystery through a matter of circumstances. Nate's dad inherits his dads house and being in ill health he demands his son Nate to come home and clean out the house for selling it. He is in a awful job and whines up quitting his job and temporarily moving back home. Creed has never left the small town he grew up in and he also is suffering financially as his photography job at the newspaper has cut his hours and then he is evicted from his apartment. Both men have parents in ill health and Nate moves into the house his father owns and Creed, needing a place to stay is hired to help clean up the place.
A camera leads them to the disappearances of Nate's aunt in 1973 and it became a cold case. Creed can feel Nate's Aunt Tammy in the house and they are both caught up in a mystery that neither one can give up until they can solve it. Poor family relations explodes around Nate and he must make a decision. Should he flee this town once again or stay to solve the mystery. Creed is the only one who could make him stay. Does he have enough draw to keep Nate there?
A haunted mystery you won't want to miss.
