Demons were definitely not on the Hunter sisters’ Christmas list.

When fifteen-year-old Eva delves into the occult with an ancient spirit board, her older sister Grace’s holiday prep becomes a terrifying nightmare.

Oven fires.
Demonic carolers.
Bleeding Christmas trees.

What Eva thought would be nothing more than a fun game sends her down a dark path that quickly spirals out of control. Following the trail of mystery leads Eva to a family secret with a demonic twist.

Can she unravel the malicious pact from the past in time to prevent a bloody awful Christmas?

This is a quick read but it grabbed me right away. I really enjoyed the sisterly banter and occult, demonic parts of the story are wonderful. I look forward to seeing where the author takes this sister duo in the next book.

What could make Christmas more merry that a bit of a demonic twist? I love a well told Young Adult urban fantasy, and Eva and Grave’s tale in Eliza Nolan’s Sisters (Hunter Sisters Book 1) is certainly that. Well written and with a perfect plot and cast of characters this is definitely a fun holiday treat.

This is a really fun, twisted start to a new series that involves sisters (yay!). I have to say, it's a bit too young for me, but I still really enjoy the idea and the characters. I can see this series becoming really popular with it's originality. I like the family dynamics and the best friends are pretty entertaining, although I have no idea how that will all work out in future books.

I received this book as an ARC, but it in no way influences my review.

This is a super intense start to what promises to a fantastic series! I am fascinated by what happens to Grace and Eva because of a deal made by their parents. I am already looking forward to reading the next book.

Delightful. Using an ancient spirit board isn’t always a great idea. Definitely can cause a lot of problems. Short but worth the read.

Fast read about two sisters grown apart and a strange situation that brought them back together.
Grace and Eva were close when they were younger, but now they are very different. Only when Eva and her friend Fiona try a demon summoning with a surprising result and strange, scary things are happening to Grace, the turn of the events drive the sisters together, setting them on a challenging quest.
Rapid switching of point of view between the two sisters drove the plot development fast forward, letting the thoughts and feelings of each sister reveal the core of their personalities and providing a fuller picture. There is not very much world building or backstory yet, considering the relatively short format, but as sequels are coming, I expect to get more information and details about the whole world, about the demons and the true character of the demonic contracts.

Sisters: A Young Adult Urban Fantasy Novella (Hunter Sisters Book 1), my first read from author Eliza Nolan, & it won't be my last. A well-written work, intro to the Hunters Sisters series. I look forward to the next book in this series, they're that good. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Words can be dangerous so be careful what you ask for. The answer might shock you.

Eva is the perfect little sister. But her life takes a wrong turn when she finds the wrong book. And her parents and big sister, Grace are about to find out how wrong.

Eliza Nolan has created a surprisingly twisted tale of darkness following two sisters. Simple words are enough to unleash their worst nightmares.

I enjoyed the combination of simplicity and complexity of two sisters confronted with a shocking change to everything they have been told. This is only the beginning and I am hooked. Bring on the sequel.

The lives of two teenage sisters are changed forever when one of them consults an Ouiji board while playing with a friend in this Y.A. horror story. Although the subject matter is dark and some of the images are definitely not for the faint of heart, the characters are likable and fun and there's plenty of action and a believable plot line.
A fun read for paranormal horror fans and the start of a series that promises to be a lot of fun.

Well written and enjoyable novella. Just felt that some of the situations were coped with a little too matter of factly by the girls. Won’t go into depth as I don’t want to spoil the story for others. Would still like to find out what happens next
