If this book wasn't recommended to me by a medical practitioner, I would dismiss it as pseudo-science. Quite jargon heavy though I appreciate the complexity of the mitochondrial cycles, even if most of it went over my head. This book makes a LOT of lifestyle recommendations and it's hard not to get lost with what to start on first. Fascinating but ultimately, beyond my understanding. Warrants a re-read.

Great guide to mitochondria

A great guide to mitochondria and mitochondrial dysfunction. I've suspected that this has been my problem for awhile now so I wanted to read a detailed book about it, to see what I can do to help myself. Chang doesn't miss ANYTHING in this book! I felt it was comprehensive, detailed and just what I was looking for. I liked that it was easy to read with simple terms that anyone could understand. I definitely recommend this book.

Everyone in America should read this book.

Finally a doctor who explained the microbiological processes our bodies go through. It's just enough science to explain without overwhelming the reader. If you are living with any type of chronic pain or disease, this book will change your life!

3.5 / 5. I did enjoy the book but given the subject material, many more references were needed to substantiate his claims.

Concise and factual presentation of mitochondrial dysfunction.

Michael Chang has written a book that helps describe possible causes and ameliorations for many diseases or conditions that other physicians may have dismissed as part of the aging process. I certainly choose to act upon the wealth of information contained in this book and hope others with vague symptoms of fatigue, muscle pain, nerve pain, etc. Will read this, if only as a starting point toward better health and happiness.

useful information

Valuable personal information was shared which was relatable. The technical explanations could have been followed with a short layman terms for clarity a bit more.
