In her most riveting novel yet, New York Times bestselling author Mary B. Morrison delivers an emotional rollercoaster of a tale of four very different friends chasing after their heart’s desires, no matter the cost . . .
For Jordan, Victoria, Kingston, and Chancelor, exciting, fast-paced Atlanta offers everything their hometowns couldn’t. But career success is easy compared to the city’s dating scene of users, losers, and gold diggers. So they decide online dating might just be the answer—as long as they take precautions, work their perfect odds-beating plan, and have each other’s backs. With luck, and prayers, they’ll fulfill their fantasies and find real love at the same time . . .
An accomplished lawyer, Jordan must look hard at potential suitors. But Terrence seems to be the honest man of her dreams, until accusations and her career threaten to come between them. . . . Sixty-something real estate pro Victoria thinks young men equal satisfaction that a good Christian woman like her deserves, but anything-goes sex makes her bet more than she can afford to lose. . . . Basketball star Kingston has the perfect life and wife, but exploring what he really wants on the downlow is a game he may not win. . . . And for marketing guru Chancelor, the net is a paradise of prey, but the consequences could blow more than his schemes apart.
Soon enough, thanks to secret agendas, lies, and truths they can’t even admit to themselves, all four friends’ lives are in danger of being upended. And the results could rack up a price no one can pay.

The beginning of this book felt pretty slow to me. I think it could have been better if the action picked up sooner, especially since the ending seemed rushed. There’s definitely a plot twist, and overall, the book is pretty sad.
One of my biggest fears is sex trafficking, and I realized I stopped reading when I got to that part in the book. I’m not sure if I did that consciously or unconsciously. Either way, the men in the book were unlikable, while the women were okay.
I’m just trying to figure out why Kingston can’t see that Theodore set him up. I wish I had read this in a book club because the questions at the end would make for great discussions.
Example of one of them: Does molestation or sexual assault make a person promiscuous?
Strap on your seatbelt and get ready for a ride. Careful What You Click For by Mary B. Morrison is an all-consuming fire.
Kingston Royale, Victoria Fox, Chancelor Leonard and Jordan Jackson are friends and fellow ushers at Hope for All Church in Atlanta, Georgia. They’re all successful in their professional lives. It’s their personal lives that need resurrecting. They’re all on a quest. Looking for love, in mostly the wrong places.
Mary B. Morrison is living up to her hype. Careful What You Click For is way beyond good. It’s a drama-filled tale of deceit, betrayal, love, hate and revenge. The story is told through the alternating viewpoints of four friends and church ushers, Kingston, Chancelor, Jordan and Victoria and the wife of one, Monet. Multiple viewpoints can get confusing, but the author handles this easily with appropriate chapter headers and vivid dialogue. Morrison’s characters are vibrant and interesting. Kingston is the character you love to hate. Victoria is the consummate schemer. Chancelor is the dubious lover. Jordan is too smart for her own good. Monet is the innocent dupe. I compliment the author for weaving a wonderfully complex plot without leaving the reader totally lost. The plot twists are breath-stealing. The ending still has my jaw dropped. I rate this novel 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it readers who enjoy multicultural fiction. The explicit content may be offensive to some readers, but this is still a must-read.
My thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.
Learned a lot about human trafficking that I didn’t know. But some of the things in the book just made go hmmmm can people be that unaware. Also some of the content just don’t seem real hence the 3 stars.
What did I read?! I've read Mary B Morrison's books years ago, but this one just went off the rails for me. I started skimming most of the chapters. I followed Kingston & Monet's chapters the most, and they were so farfetched. She touched on a heavy topic, but the way she did it was too wild for me.
A story of four people, all together by the fact that they're all ushers at the same church. Chancelor is a marketing guru, and good at what he does, but his naivety towards women can possibly cost him more than he can afford. Kingsoton is a former basket ball player, and appears to have the perfect life and family, but a major secret can cause an explosion that can be detrimental. Jordan is a lawyer and lucky in life, just not in love. So she tries internet dating, which has the possibility of turning deadly. Victoria loves for her man to be young and tender, until one of them decides that he will never let her go. Each person has to figure out how to reverse the issues that seem to weigh them down.
This story was a rollercoaster ride that I didn't want to get off of. It read like a movie that I would watch multiple of times. The characters were well developed and lifelike. I read in the beginning of the book that this might be the author's last book. I truly hope not. She is a master of drama filled books that will keep you on the edge of your seats right up until the very end. I truly enjoyed this book.
I received a copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Wow. When online dating and secrets go incredibly wrong!
The first half of the book, we are introduced to the cast: Chancellor, Kingston, Jordan, and Victoria who are all looking for their version of love online through what they believe to be safe dating sites. But as usual, things are not at all what they seem. With each of them in some way leading double lives it’s not hard to imagine that they’ll be caught and exposed or both. What I could have never imagined was a human sex trafficking ring, voodoo, tricking, and much much more. The book is one part wow factor, one part page-turner and one part rollercoaster ride. There was so much lying, cheating and conniving going on throughout the entire book, it was good to see things take a turn at the end. I have a feeling we aren’t done with the like of these characters.
So many themes were explored: self-discovery, sexual abuse, family, love, religion and a host of many more. One of the issues I had with the book, however small was there were a few points where the story moved along too quickly.

Mary B. Morrison does it again! Four very different friends are looking for love…in all the wrong places. Jordan, Victoria, Kingston and Chancelor are all successful in their chosen endeavors. Unfortunately, that success does not carry over to their love lives. So what do they do? They decide to try online dating. With guidelines in place, they step off that cliff into the unknown. And that is where the ‘fun’ really begins. There are secrets galore, lies, and truths that masquerade as lies. In the end, what price will these four pay for love? This was a great read that you will definitely enjoy. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book.
This book was full of suspense, action and drama. I thought the plot was going to be predictable, but It had me fooled and threw me for a loop. Masterful writing with intriguing situations and captivating characters. This story will keep you glued to the page or audio book. This was my 4th read by this author.
As I was reading, a coworker stated, "that must be a good book!". I replied that it was raunchy. She asked was that "good or bad" . I said that I really didn't know which to choose but I want to know what happens next so I am going to continue reading. In the end, this book touches on a very serious topic but all the events leading up to it reads like a stereotypical reality TV show.
LISTEN, I WASN’T READY! I WASN’T READY... I had to clutch my pearls for this book especially at the ending. The drama circulating these church-goers had me going. This another book that had me going through the motions. I really lived in this book but I really want to know more about what happened with Theodore and Kingston. I felt Monet handled that situation like a lady but if it was me Kingston would really wanted to know what death felt like cause obviously what he went through wasn’t his turning point. (Which I thought he was going to turn then but Theodore through that monkey wench) Hmmm Jordan is sooo relatable I fell in love with her character and I’m happy she found some sort of happiness in the end being in the mist of the craziness. Chancelor, hmmm 🤔 he needs serious help before he jump in any relationship. He is an overused broken man. I really wanted to know if Levi was involved in anyway which I think he did because his disappearance was funny to me. Even though he wasn’t a main character, he played a crucial part. Please don’t get me started on Victoria, she was something else, for her age she really needed to stop with the shenanigans. Again, this book was too much for me but it also gave me LIFE!
AAMBC had the privilege to review Careful What You Click for by Mary B. Morrison. Of course, we dove right in. Who wouldn't when given a book by the Queen Mary B.?
Careful What You Click For explores the ups and downs of online dating for several life long friends. Sick of the Atlanta dating scene, Jordan, Victoria, Kingston, and Chancelor opt for online dating. Complete with a foolproof plan, they dive headfirst into the internet's murky waters. But, as in real life, when dealing with the faceless people behind the computer, careers can be destroyed, reputations can be tarnished, and lives decimated with a click of a mouse.
Careful What You Click For will capture your attention from the very first chapter and leave you wanting more at its conclusion. The lives of Jordan, Victoria, Kingston, and Chancelor are rife with themes of familial challenges, love/heartbreak, and self-discovery. The novel switches between their multiple POV's. Still, with so much drama, readers will be able to follow along without issue. Each of the characters will take you on a rollercoaster of emotion, so get ready to hold on to your seats. Now, it should also be noted that there are other, very controversial themes throughout the novel. Still, the author portrayed a great deal of care with their presentation that readers may appreciate. Ms. Morrison proves once again, why she has been and will continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the literary world.

TL; DR The Good: The storytelling is genuinely captivating, leading the reader to become completely engrossed with the lives of the main characters. The Bad: The conclusion left me wanting to know more about the happenings of one of the secondary characters, Levi. Is it Worth Buying: Yes! Run, don't walk to wherever books are sold when this new release hits the shelves. Rating: 5/5 stars
After reading a couple of Mary B. Morrison that was disappointing this one redeemed itself. It is not stellar like a her soulmates dissipate series, but it is better than the crystal series. I still feel like she put a lot into the story. First let start with the church what in the world. All of this fighting and swing in the church and the pastor not saying nothing, but pass the collection plate.
Jordan I could not stand her character she irritated me. The way she dealt with Donovan although he was being a jerk he still was dealing with a lot. Then the two of them at the end just back together like that.
Chancellor oy vye !! What was wrong with him he was possessive and crazy. The way he obsessed over Tracy and how he acted. We needed more background with his story.
Victoria and the voodoo how we just throwing that in there and not doing more. Was Tracy Brother Copeland daughter we never got the answer.
Kingston his story was the best. I wanted to fight Monet mama so the money was worth more than your daughter sanity. I am sorry him and Theo in the end. How you back with him knowing who his partner was? I think he knew. We needed more to that story she left us hanging on that one
Levi??? I think he was part of the plot with Langston he was always around listening and gathering information

First, let me start by saying Mary B. Morrison is one of my top 10 favorite authors. If she wrote it, I'm buying it. I was surprised to see that this book came out 5 years ago, but I had never seen it. I enjoyed this story (somewhat). I liked the friend group aspect of it. The fact that there were men and women in the friend group, and none of them were trying to be with each other. Now the parts that I didn't like the plot. There was so much going on with each friend. I though Kingston was the main character, but the book didn't end with his story. This book had everything under the sun in it gay relationships, church shenanigans, voodoo, cheating husband and wife, exploring sexuality, sex trafficking, online hookups, dating apps and more. I enjoyed Victoria, but there were times that I didn't. She seemed to have the most interesting storyline/plot. Older woman dealing with menopause and on her Stella Got Her Groove Back. Kingston and Monet royally pissed me off. Chancelor was a joke and I was rooting for Jordan, but even that was wild. All I can say is if you read this book be prepared to go through every emotion. The main thing you'll be saying is "whaaaat?!" 3.5 stars

Careful What You Click For is about four different people that met in church and served on the usher board together, that quickly formed a tight bond and everlasting friendship. Each one is looking for love and happiness and have had little success so they decide that maybe they should try a dating app and also look out for each other.
Jordan an accomplished lawyer has had her share of frogs now she is looking for a prince so when she meets Terrance she feels she has Hit the jackpot.
Victoria is an older woman but has a big sexual appetite that she feels only younger man can curve, so she is looking for a young whipper snapper to fulfill her sexual desires.
Chancellor is looking for a trophy women for a girlfriend, he has a big heart and really giving, he is definitely naive and a sucker for pretty sexy women.
Kingston an ex basketball player has the perfect life in most people eyes, he has a wife, kids ,money and fame but of course that is not enough the love he is looking for will turn out to be very dangerous.
Reading the lives of these four made me very thankful for what I have and opened my eyes to issues that are going on in the world that I may have not even thought was happening if I had not read this book. This book gripped from the beginning and held me to the end, there was some shocking and oh my goodness parts. The book flowed very well and I enjoyed it to the fullest. This author did not disappoint at all.
Based in Atlanta, this book focuses on the life of four main characters …Victoria, a seasoned woman in her sixties, is living a double life, one of a kept woman and the other as a cougar. Jordan is a professional woman who is just trying to find love. Chancelor seems to have the worst luck when it comes to finding love and the the most controversial of them all is Kingston. He's also living a double life, that may just end up costing him his life. These four friends have decided to give online dating a try. What a mess!
This book by @celebhoneyb tugged on many of my emotions. At times it was humorous (Pastor Baloney), other time it was too far fetched (the spells and where they were administered) and last, my sympathy. The numerous social issues that were addressed were very moving. I never considered sex trafficking from this angle. That was very enlightening. Overall I would give this one 💎💎💎💎.
I haven't read a Mary B. Morrison book in years, and this book was a lot of entertaining foolishness. The characters in the book were something else. You have a mother who I Felt like was pimping her daughter to stay with her husband as long as the mother kept her lavish lifestyle. Kingston was a selfish narcissist. Victoria followed to use the praying to the lord with doing voodoo rituals and her over the top sexual behavior just crazy. Chancelor was just comical and a little lost. And Jordan high power lawyer I had high hopes she doing so well and did something at the end was absurd. But I can say the story will keep you reading to the end I still enjoyed the entertainment of the story. I definitely will read more of Mary B. Morrison's books.
This was a good read. Story of 4 friends each with different motives. Chancellor falls for the wrong woman and is gullible. Victoria is well, just Victoria. Jordan has issues and Kingston well, smh. The other characters in the book have their own things going on. This was an ok read. At times it felt rushed, but it did have me thinking there could be a 2nd part. Things were explained at the end but, it felt a little rushed. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the arc of this book in return for my honest review. Receiving the book in this manner had no bearing on this review.
Oh the perils of on-line dating! Chancellor, Victoria, Jordan and Kingston are all successful but each has a reason they haven't found true love in person. They all have an issue too. This one packs a warning for those who venture into the on line world without friends to give things a second look. There are ups and downs and revelations. Much drama! Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. Morrison's fans know what to expect with her well done characters. New readers will find that not only are the characters relatable, they also have a sense of humor, which is always welcome.
Chancelor, Jordan, Kingston, and Victoria are searching for something - love, companionship, sexual satisfaction, or revenge - and decide to let dating apps assist them. They each received something, though not always what they were looking for.
In Honey B's typical fashion, this book is loaded with sex, voodoo, a tantalizing web of lies, and epic man-on-man violence.
Trigger Warning: This is not for the faint of heart, or those who 'clutch their pearls' at the hint of illicit sexual behavior and sexual deviance. Honey B deliver this tale straight with no hint of a chaser!
First off, thank you to Net Galley for a copy of this book. I am very familiar with Morrison’s work and thought I would like this book; the cover art is great as well. Unfortunately, I have to mark it as a DNF as I did not finish it. I got almost halfway into the story and could not connect with any of the characters or follow the plot. I’m sure there’s an audience for this type of story but it was not for me.
It was just purely all over the place and to long and i found grammatical errors more than once which makes me feel it was rushed writing.i do appreciate the author drawing attention to gay sex trafikking which i never heard of. But of anyone plans to read this..it has triggers of rape more than once
Ms. Mary needs a reality show because I need to see what she's ingesting to put out such captivating MESS!!!! I hate to read her but I can't put it down. After every chapter, I'm like no she didn't! Why am I reading this?! Lol. Ms. Mary is one talented lady. This one did seem in a rush to wrap up in the end and I don't like that.
So many things were just too unrealistic for me that I just don't have the words to fully review this book....a Pastor named Pastor Baloney??? Seriously? Voodoo dolls and casting spells in church? Fighting in the church? It was just all too much for me. Sorry, but a book just needs to be more realistic for me to truly enjoy it. Still love you Mary B ❤
Good read! Kept my interest. I would recommend this book! I am not sure how I feel about the ending. I feel like I want to know more about what happened to some of the main characters
This was a good book with a complicated story. Kingston tried to live a double life. He used the excuse he was trying to get it out of his system. Monet’s mother knew about his double life and helped him hide it. She only cared about Kingston taking care of her financially.
Good lord. This book was strange, but it definitely kept my attention. At the beginning I hated Kingston then by the end I felt bad for him at the very end I hated him again. Lol but yeah, worth the read! 3.5/5
