Performance coach Jake Thompson shares the seven key choices that leaders make in order to enhance their focus, increase their levels of success, and win their work and life.
COMPETE EVERY DAY examines the important actions that the best of the best make on a daily basis in order to separate themselves from everyone else. The lessons shared can be used by everyone, but most rarely do believe that “winning can’t be that simple.”
In reality, it is that simple. The magic, however, is in the application of these seven lessons every single day. You’ll learn how embracing your own Competitor Mindset will allow you to do just that.
COMPETE EVERY DAY will motivate and empower you to embrace your inner Competitor and strive for the higher levels of success in your work and life that you’re truly capable of achieving.
I’ve followed Jake and the Compete Every Day community for quite some time so I was very excited to get my hands on this book. This is one of those books that you will keep on your nightstand to continuously reference. It is a manifesto for being a competitor in every area of your life. I love the amount of research that went into this book. Jake references countless books and articles to support his information. He also includes sports in a lot of examples which I personally enjoyed. I found the book to be very relatable and something that could apply to everyone no matter what career or stage of life they are in. I appreciate the organization of the book with actionable steps in relation to your career, health, and personal life included in every chapter as well as chapter takeaways to highlight the key information. I found myself highlighting and writing little stars all over the book next to sentences I loved. A part of the book that really resonated with me personally was when he talks about not worrying about what other people are doing and instead focus on “my own lane.” Those words have always meant something to me because we don’t always do everything on a perfect timeline and that’s ok! All of our paths can look differently. There is room for all of us. There is not a limited supply of success! I love what Jake and the Compete Every Day brand stand for. I admire Jake’s commitment to serve his community and inspire others to compete for their lives. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Remember, show up for your life and put your shopping cart away!
It could have been right timing for me, but this book connected with me. I’ve read leadership books, personal develop all my adult life, and truthfully, this doesn’t have any “new” concepts. What it does have is a quick, no BS style gives you practical ways to compete and win in your career, in health, and in everyday life. Jake Thompson speaks the language of a leader and competitor without the fluff that too many similar style books have. Pulling real life examples to help illustrate his points. It is a fast read, which would make this a great gift to your team at work or on the field.
Jake is the man. Full of wisdom that he imparts to you in this book. Uses a lot of real life experiences to hammer home some solid foundations for your life. Love the Compete Every Day brand and what it means! Keep goin Jake!

I love Jake's no nonsense way to approach life and win everyday. Check it out. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ #competeeveryday #frommreads
Compete Every Day is a very inspiring book and it comes at the right time for me. I hope to put the actions shared in the book into practice. I’m going to try to create the competitor mindset in my life that Jake discusses.
I wanted to find a motivational book but this one failed to hit the mark for me. It was just sports analogy after sports analogy but no real ah-ha moment created from the stories
Although a simple concept, I really liked this book. I felt motivated to win everyday after reading it. I’ve recommended it to several people already and bought a copy for my brother.
