Wanted: Kept Woman By J.W. McKenna When slightly chubby Suzanne Montgomery comes across a personal ad in her local free magazine for a "Kept Woman," she's intrigued enough to keep the paper, but not brave enough to respond. That is, until her best friend Wendy takes her by the bra straps, encourages her to get over her crazy ex-husband, lose the weight she's been complaining about and move on with her life. Encouraged, Suzanne emerges from her sheltering cocoon a new woman. New hair, clothes and attitude regarding her body-along with the help of her "I'm not taking no for an answer" girlfriend-give her the courage to respond to the ad that continues to not only run in the magazine but in her mind. It also helps that her current battery-operated boyfriend isn't doing such a great job lately. Enter Brian Armstrong, a self-made man, dating all the wrong women. He's good-looking and the CEO of Armstrong Control Systems. Women want him-want to change him, that is.control him. But what he wants is a sexy, confident, intelligent.submissive woman. Oh yeah, and one who likes Chinese food and miniature golf. With the help of his Administrative Assistant, a sexually submissive woman herself, Brian places a personal ad for the woman of his dreams. Someone willing to be "kept" by him. Loved by him. Controlled by him. Eat pizza with him. When Suzanne and Brian meet, sparks fly and dreams of a possible future emerge but then so, too, does Suzanne's just out of jail ex-husband.
Interesting plot and some interesting ideas, but it didn’t grab me enough to recommend buying it.
Brian is wealthy and is tired of dating gold-diggers and strong minded women. His secretary is the first one to tell him that he is a dominant and needs to find a submissive woman. He places an ad in the newspaper, and Suzanne is one of many women who respond to it. Readers most likely will expect some dominant/submissive sex scenes, especially since this is published by Ellora’s Cave. However, the d/s actions were almost nonsexual. The following are examples: he ordered food for her in a restaurant, he decided when the two of them would have sex, and he wanted to walk in the woods naked with her on a private island, all of which she was happy to comply with. Not that I minded this, it was just unexpected. A subplot involves Suzanne’s ex husband. He was in jail for stalking and physically abusing her. After he is released from jail, he stalks her again with plans to get revenge.
Sexual language: strong/erotic. Number of sex scenes: six. Setting: current day northern California. Copyright: 2004. Genre: erotic contemporary romance.

This rich CEO can't seem to find "mrs. Right." he keeps dating beautiful shallow women who only want him for his money and not him as a person. His secretary helps him in his search for the perfect woman for him. So the story starts, a personal add is placed for a "kept woman", hundreds answer, and the race begins.
Brian definatley gets more than he bargined for with his add. Like a man he starts to choose by looks alone but Rebecca leads him to search for their personalities and not just by looks alone...men..geesh. This Alpha Male needs an intellegant submissive woman who isn't a doormat but will let him take control of the relationship. (Note this isn't a BDSM novel but it does mention dominant and submissive, but sticks to the basic traits of Alpha male/dominant and a submissive woman who yeilds control to their partner.)
Suzanna is a divorced chubby woman who sees the Ad in the paper. Her friend Wendy pushes her to call and then this fun book really takes off. Suzy is remaking herself, losing weight, changing her wardrobe, and basically feeling better about herself. On the road to a new her she fills out the questionnaire, has the video "date", then a real date. She knows she's not the only woman hes seeing but is still hoping to be the one for him because he starts wanting him.
Fun, cute book, hot erotic scenes, competition, and that little suprise from the ex all made this book an intresting read. Overall I would give this book a 3.5. Most of the book is the rollercoaster of the wanted ad that span I believe a month or two total. I liked Wendy and reading Sams POV was okay but I felt the two main characters deserved more. Loved the ending that was really cute. Made me smile.
