Short stories about several themes with some vocabulary and some questions at the end of each one.
What I like most about this book is the fact that the stories are not translated into English. So, if you want to know the stories, you really have to read them.

Just Stories and Quizzes all in French

Having read and reviewed a number of books on foreign language short stories meant to help the learner, I found this one to be lacking. Literally, it is just 10 long short stories with questions in French at the end. That's it. There is no translation into English. The short story was broken up occasionally with a brief vocabulary list meant for the paragraph or two above it. I do feel like a full English translation is necessary for a book like this so that the student can compare the two side-by-side to better understand the nuances of the unfamiliar language. As I did take French some time ago in both high school and college, however, I did enjoy reading the stories to see how much I remembered. So if you don't need a lot of guidance for a short story foreign language learning book like this, you might find this one useful.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

It is a good book to a start. Small stories and an easy language. Give it a try!

This is nothing like I expected. "Stories" is a misnomer.
