- Slow read and full-time job, hopefully the author will understand my late review. - Already fan of two previous books from this serie, and now I am making this one part of enjoyment. Smoothly story. Impressive dialogues, which shows the talent of this amazing writer. The tale itself is so believable that in one moment I felt like it's happening in real life, somewhere around me. I love characters, and they're very well described. Such an easy and not at all confusing read, makes this book a great pause after hard day at work or raining evenings. - Honestly, returned me in some wonderful time of my life. No more spoilers from me, just read this masterpiece. I am waiting the next one. 4 stars because I love a lot of details everywhere, including not important parts or characters wearing, for example, but this is a personal issue - the beauty of the tale, however impact me wonderfully.
I was suprised and excited to get this book as a birthday gift. I've read the other two books in this series and really enjoyed them. Natasja Eby did not disappoint! The wording is spot-on (that means dialogue, too.) The characters are well-written. Both they and the plot/action are believable. I totally lost myself in the tale. This is a clean read, just so you're aware. That made it a double win for me. Natasja has come through with another winning story I'd recommend to teens. Younger people could enjoy it, too, I think. I recommended my youngest read it since she's been experimenting with books and trying to find her reading niche. I think anyone who just enjoys a good book about life will really love this story.
If you read Knockout Girl and Standup Guy, then you will know Red, the protagonist from The B-Boy. (If you haven’t read them, I suggest you do so). He’s a bully-turned best friend, a boxer, and now – he has to learn to dance? I like a good redemption arc. And I enjoy watching a character come out of their comfort zone and find something new to love. And this novel does not disappoint either aspiration. The strength is in the characters. They’re relatable and funny. Humour, romance, dancing – what’s not to love?
Cute. Clean. Well-written. Red's a boxer. That's it. Okay, sure, he managed to graduate from high school--much to his own surprise--but that doesn't mean he's going to turn in his gloves for so-called "higher education." That's great for his buddies, Julian and Ellie. However, Red's big plan is to do what he's good at--box. Enter Zara. A young woman he met when he was about 3 years old. Maybe. At the moment, she's got a problem and he's her best bet at solving it. Reluctantly, he agrees to give it a try. Red. Dancing? He doesn't promise to be good at it, but he will do his best. And if, along the way, they happen to sort of fall for each other, well...they should be so lucky.
