Defeated. Coward. Gutless. Weak.

Perceptions define the man that I have become on the inside.
The world may not see me this way, but this is who I am.

Sullied. Contaminated. Worthless. Masked.

The way I perceive myself affects every aspect of my life.
The world may see a perfectly clean person, but on the inside, I am nothing but dirty and scarred.

The world sees us one way.
We see ourselves another.
Perceptions are what we’ve given ourselves.
Perceptions of what we think we deserve.

Let's start off by saying we really love this author and her works and we love anything she writes so we were so glad to get to read her latest story with Wyatt in this brand new series. After the first book we were already half in love with Wyatt's character as he was such a great guy, a great friend and lent a helping hand to his cousin Ryland to get his life back on track.

This was an emotional tale for sure.Wyatt was a little bit broken and unlucky in love but, one thing he craves is what his cousin Ryland has and that is a family and the love of a good women.Wyatt was lonely and ready to settle down now he just found the perfect women if only he can convince Exeter to be his one and only.

Exeter comes from and abusive family and was raped repeatably for years but, after years of therapy she is working through her issues but, one thing she still feels is the shame and thinks she is dirty and worthless and no one could love a women like her long term as she still feels undeserving of a good man.

Exeter and Wyatt had amazing chemistry and were hotter than heck together and both shared a past that have left them a little bit broken but, Wyatt sees something in Exeter and knows she was special and meant to be his. This was one hot read with tons of super hot and sexy scenes. The story was also fast paced as Wyatt pretty much took their relationship warp speed and Exeter was just along for the ride.

Overall we loved this cast of characters and we loved that our favorites were revising with some of our favorites. My heart went out to both characters for the pain they suffered but, for Exeter my heart just bleed but, I loved that she didn't let what happen to her ruin her life and she went on and pursued her dreams and with a whole lot of persistence and persuasion by Wyatt found the love and happiness she deserved.

We loved Wyatt and all his alpha-ness and how he pretty much steamed rolled Exeter in falling in love with him but, along the way he let go of his past and moved forward and is making his dreams of a family of his own a reality.

We loved this current installment in this on going series.

WOW Hayley Faiman you have done it again everything you write is just amazing and sets my emotions ablaze . Hero is the second book of the Unfit hero series it can be read as a standalone but I would recommend that you start with Convict you run into some minor spoilers if you start with this one . My heart really broke for both the characters they have been through so much in there lives then when they find one another it's so good between them . If you are looking for a book that will drive you crazy with emotion and also fanning oneself because holy smokes that was steamy . This is one of my favorites by the author and I can't wait to read more by her in the future is she is new for you you really need to get on the Hayley Faiman tree .

After waiting forever to read convict I'm completely hooked on this series. Generally, I steer away from dark or emotional books because I'm a bit of a wuss. I find it really hard not to let it affect my mood and being a miserable bitch with a house full of kids is impossible. But every now and then I can't get enough of them because they keep me so engrossed in all the feels.

Being a Hayley Faiman virgin going into that last book I have to say she's been added to my TBR. And I had this on my kindle within minutes of putting down Convict. But I needed a night to get my head out of their story and into this one. And I picked this one up thinking it was Beaumont's story. Discovering it was Wyatt's wasn't a disappointment and I was happy to see Exeter was his heroine.

Wyatt was such a complete hero in the last book I just knew I was going to love him. Especially after our introduction to Exeter and hearing very briefly what skeletons were in her closet. I knew he was the right man for her, and I had to know how they knew each other. I was a little disappointed with Wyatt's past. Or maybe disappointed is the wrong word. I guess I expected more from him than his history with Sammi.

But this book was as well written as the last. And it could be read as a standalone but the characters are awesome, and the first book was great and they are on KU so you know, binge read. I don't know who's story we are getting next but I'm off to grab it now. After I read the short story for Emily because that girl deserves a well hung, prince.

Wyatt and Exeter. First of all, the cover is sexy in an understated way. I love to picture my hero as I read and he is perfect for Wyatt. Second of all, this story was so real and raw and full of emotions and passion...both for the men and the women who have been victims of abuse and injustice. Wyatt and Exeter have been on both sides of a very emotional social issue and because of their experiences have come to feel they are less deserving of an HEA. Exeter doesn't believe she is worthy or attractive enough for a gorgeous man like Wyatt, and he doesn't know if he can let himself become so deeply in love with a woman and not lose himself.
As with all of this author's books, we get a story full of romance and life experiences...the good, the bad and the ugly. How it all works out in the end, you'll have to read and find out for yourself!

A page turner

Wow it was really good to be back amongst the lovable characters of this small southern town. The struggles of these characters are deeply ingrained and hard to read but you won't be able to look away.

I’m on book 2 & I can already tell this series is going to be fantastic! I loved Wyatt in Rylan & Channing’s story & couldn’t wait to get his. He was the voice of reason when Rylan needed it, & he did so much for Rylan to get him back on his feet. Wyatt is such a good hearted guy who had gotten hurt deeply by his ex & never got over what she did.
Exeter’s past is dark & painful, making her think she’s not worth the love Wyatt can give her. It was sad seeing her in the beginning constantly doubting herself, him, & waiting for him to leave her. But Wyatt was determined to prove himself to her, & that he wasn’t going anywhere.
These two had excellent chemistry & were hot together! The only thing missing from their story was Exeter telling him she was pregnant in the end. After all they’d both been through I was expecting that. But their story & HEA was absolutely amazing!

I was utterly excited when I learned that there would be a new book coming up from my beloved Unfit Hero series. I loved that each couple in the series were good people but a little broken because of circumstances that were beyond their control. Hayley had delivered another beautiful, emotional and meaningful story with Hero . I really like the realism, rawness and grittiness that the story portrayed.

Wyatt’s kindness and generosity had my attention in the previous installment. I didn’t realize Exeter made an appearance in Convict too. There was an insta-love connection between the two damaged souls. Exeter and Wyatt were smoking hot together and I almost wanted to say there were too much sex. Unfortunately, the baggage from their tragic past and their self-doubt hindered their growing bond. Even though their misfortunes were greatly different, there was one common denominator. It broke my heart to learn their histories, but my heart was mended when I saw they drew strength from each other to overcome their demons and work towards the happiness that they both deserved.

There was a nice and sweet short story added at the end of the book which was a bonus. I’m loving this series hard and cannot wait to see the rest of the boys to get their HEA.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

So incredibly emotional and so beautifully romantic at the same time! Hayley Farman has once again totally stolen my heart with Hero. I could not get enough of Wyatt and Exeter. Hayley somehow managers to write this amazingly beautiful stories that are simultaneously heartbreaking and incredibly sweet combining realistic and intense emotions with swoon in a way that is utterly addictive.
Wyatt and Exeter both have deeply tragic histories that while vastly different hold one thing in common. While they both have mostly moved on their pasts, particularly Exeter’s continue to haunt them. As the connection that have grows into a deep passionate love the hurdles they have to overcome begin to grow creating a new depth to an already unputdownable read.
The short story at the end is the icing on the cake of this beyond five star read!

THIS IS A HOT COVER.
Revived my love for bearded men.

Wyatt and Exeter have quite the chemistry. Both have a past - until you meet the one person that will make you feel alive and consumed, the past will haunt you, and that’s true for both of them. There was a lot of sexy scenes too 🤭
I am also interested in the development of other characters mentioned (Tulip & Louis, Ford, Beaumont)....eager to find out if they get their own story too.

What I love about this series is the real life storylines she's delving into. I love that!

Both of them have pasts that they have never truly worked through all the way. I loved the connection and the chemistry that they have right from the beginning. These two are great together but first they have to both deal with their respective pasts. You can't help but love them both and rooting for them from the beginning.

This was a great book to this series and I'm so looking forward to more!

I liked the characters of this story (Wyatt is hotter than Hades) but this story didn't resonate as much with me as other books by this author did. It did fill in some of the missing pieces of the first in this series though.

I appreciate anyone’s hard work to write a book but I didn’t like this one for a lot of reasons.

My issues:

-umm he’s literally so distraught and angry about what his ex Sammi does but is in an on off relationship with her for 15 years?? We heard about her the whole book. I want him to be over that completely by the time the MC is in the picture.

-wayyy too many mentions of OW for my taste. We start off in the present with Wyatt saying he’s fucked every woman in the bar he’s at. Charming. Later on, when Exeter is rightfully upset about one of them being the real estate agent he says:

“My dick’s been in her. It’s been in countless other women, too. You weren’t a fucking virgin when I fucked you the first time, Exeter. Should we make a list?”

^He says she’s trying to make him sound like an asshole - when he is??! She is right be upset that he chose a real estate agent he slept with, and he immediately is insensitive, rude, and doesn’t apologize for his outburst. He turns it around on her which feels toxic.

-I feel like everything I don’t like about Wyatt is supposed to be covered up because he just loooves Exeter so much. So I shouldn’t care he’s slept with the whole town, he bulldozes her, he has sex instead of talking to her, etc.

-They. Don’t. Talk. They may say a sentence, then have sex. Even at the end, when he’s freaking out and literally about to break up with her, they say two sentences then have sex.

-Exeter is a doormat. Whenever she is upset and tells him he kind of ignores it and they sleep together five seconds later.

-Writing is weird/ made me think I missed things, one Ex: At one point he comes into his house where he asked her to be and she comes in from outside and he is angry and asks where were you?! Like she was just outside? Then the tone shifts and he’s not mad. Idk what happened?

I guess I should balance out my rant with some ok things. Wyatt was all in from the beginning. Even though Sammi is a constant mention, he doesn’t seem as much hung up on her as he is hung up on the past. I did like how he had good friends, too.

But overall, she keeps saying he’s a hero and I’m not buying it. I think she’s in need of good therapy and self healing instead.

Absolute Leseempfehlung. ❤️❤️❤️

Hero is the second book in the Unfit Hero series. This time it is Wyatt’s turn. He is Rylan’s cousin. Rylan’s story was Convict (Unfit Hero) Book 1.

I loved Wyatt in book 1. Wyatt helped his cousin Rylan who had just gotten out of prison. Wyatt helped Rylan in Convict. He gave freely to help Rylan, he helped him find a job, he helped Rylan and Channing. He is just a very nice man but a broken man. So when I read that Wyatt feels “Sullied. Contaminated. Worthless. Masked.” I couldn’t believe it.

Hero is Wyatt Johnson & Exeter White’s story. Wyatt meets Exeter at a Bar. And they have a one night stand. He should have gotten her number. They meet up again at an unexpected moment. Wyatt ends up wanting more from Exeter with Exeter running from wanting more from Wyatt. They are both broken and need each other!

I loved their story and can’t wait to start the next book Fraud. 4.5 stars

Another good read

I was in a reading slump for a while but Hailey Faiman has pulled me out of it. The only thing that keeps them from being 5 stars is the moments of doubt that the guys through after all that time kindof annoy me. And the intimate moments are kind of in overabundance. And although I usually am irritated by insta love, she foes a good job of making it believable. (Snd thank you for giving us a real description of Louis -finally!)

Wyatt brought Sammi up way too much, even the day he returned after what happened to Exeter. They’re having these moments and he brings up his past and her name every single time. He still talks to her too until he tells her he’s in love. I don’t think he loved Exeter because he had her to get over Sammi. I can’t believe I read the whole thing.

From page one this is a quick read, but one that packs quite an emotional punch, as a group of women are still dealing with years of abuse from those who should’ve protected them the most. Helping these women along the way are men with their own painful pasts, men who are perfectly imperfect, with a sweet and scorching romance the result. From the first page to the last this book ties up loose ends from the previous book while telling the heavy tale of Exeter and Wyatt. From erotically-charged encounters to moments of danger and suspense readers will find themselves captivated by drama in and out of the bedroom while setting up storylines for the future.

At a young age Exeter was forced into making an adult decision as her father’s abuse left her with no other options if she wanted to make an escape. She’s made a life for herself since then, graduated nursing school and living on her own, but the abuse has left her self-esteem bruised and the view she has of herself is negative. She sees herself as damaged and unworthy of real love which is why all she engages in is one night-stands. At least that’s all she used to engage in. The moment Wyatt Johnson introduced himself to her they’ve been inseparable as he becomes a man on a mission to claim her. Though he’s a bit domineering early on, it’s just the push Exeter needed to listen to her heart instead of all the negative thoughts in her head. Being with Wyatt was empowering to her, brought out a more decisive side to her too, a side that had her protecting herself when danger arrived on her doorstep once again. I was rooting for Exeter every step of the way as she rose high above all the horrible things that befell her when she was young. She started off timid and uncertain but became stronger-willed and more capable of speaking her desires out loud which made for even steamier storytelling. Her emotional growth was admirable with her friendship with other women (like Channing, Tulip, MawMaw, and Emily) another bright spot for its humor and strong sense of support as each overcame painful pasts to find richly rewarding HEAs.

Wyatt Johnson was on Cloud 9 the night his high school football team won the championship only to hit rock bottom with the discovery of his girlfriend’s pregnancy. Though he was thrilled by the news and had his own plans for their HEA, it was her decision that broke him and led to years of anger and feelings of not being good enough. He never wants to put his heart on the line ever again, become that caught up in another woman, and has been content with his numerous one night-stands ever since. The moment he sees Exeter though is the moment everything changes. It’s instant attraction with images of a future with her that drives him to claim her in this sizzling story of overcoming the past to make a future. Wyatt’s a strong-willed man with a domineering side that often comes out to play in and out of the bedroom. He sees Exeter’s fears and with surprising gentleness though he helps her work through the pain through his unwavering support and acceptance of her. She might see herself as damaged goods but he sees someone who’s a perfect match for him. While helping Exeter work through her issues he also works through his own, letting go of his guilt and anger, to allow himself to be happy in a subtle but powerful moment. Wyatt too has a close-knit group of friends who he can count on in moments of danger and their help is definitely needed during this story because of the truly vile villains inhabiting this tale. These villains didn’t get near the punishment they deserved though, especially with how much damage they left behind. There’s a strong bond between Wyatt and his cousin Rylan as he helped him find HEA with Channing and continues to help her stay safe throughout this book. He also relied on charming fighter Louis, the mysterious Ford, and Sheriff Robby with the glimpses I got of each of these men that have me now waiting with bated breath. His other friend Beaumont also left me wanting more as he’s a man clearly hurting, an alcoholic torn between duty and desperately wanting to be healed. Throughout most of the book Wyatt saw himself unworthy of love and HEA but through his words and deeds I found him to be an unforgettable, though a bit rough around the edges, hero.

This is a scorching tale from the very start, a fast-paced story that jumps right into the romance and danger that started with Rylan and Channing. Their story continues here, bubbling in the background, while Wyatt and Exeter take center stage in their emotionally intense instant connection that leads to oh so much more. Bdsm-lite scenes are balanced with sweet and sensitive interactions as Wyatt slowly learns more about Exeter’s painful past which helps him in convincing her to fight for a HEA with him. These two are bruised when we first meet them, but together they build each other up in a powerful romance full of twists and turns. Surrounding this compelling main couple was an equally engaging cast of secondary characters who captured my attention and have left me wanting more. They all have issues of their own though and as this series continues it promises to be one heckuva tearjerker that I’m greatly anticipating.

The spicy scenes were fantasticly written, didn't much care for the over the top language or agressive type characters that might have some sort of mood disorder 😅, but that's total personal preference. Really enjoyed though. Will be reading the rest of the series.
