Las Vegas is a confusing episode.  In the previous outing, our team follows one of the killers turning them over to the local FBI and police.  They follow some leads to try to figure out the Las Vegas crime.  It sends them off in a new direction.

Cole does get some information about her husband's final days. This has her wanting to track down more about her husband and drop the 9 murders case she and Warren have been pursuing.

Narration:
I've enjoyed this narrator previously on a police procedural series and this is a similar genre.  Her male and female voices were comfortably appropriate.  I enjoyed listening at my usual 1.5x speed.

Another Leg On A Dangerous Journey...
Cole and Warren add another leg to their globe-hopping journey to solve what appears to be a never-ending conspiracy. More clues are revealed, and our protagonists seem no closer to a resolution than before. A well-devised series with twists and turns aplenty. I'm enjoying the series so far - on to the next destination!

sad, tense, medium-paced

Plot- or character-driven? Character
Strong character development? It's complicated
Loveable characters? Yes
Diverse cast of characters? It's complicated
Flaws of characters a main focus? Yes

★★★½: This wasn't my favorite 'episode' thus far, as the pace fell off and the author seemed to get away from the main story and focus on secondary and tertiary stories instead.

Sometimes the author gets repetitious. He seems to be going for word count.

Another quick story, but this one was quite different from the others and the main characters came away wondering what was next.

I enjoyed this installment. We get to know Jane Cole so much better in this book of the series I am interested enough still to purchase and move on to No. 5

At first you think these are a series of novels with the same characters. Then you find that basically they are one novel, delivered chapter by chapter. A tiresome way of reading what essentially is only one book. But then again, it's fairly well written, the characters are attractive, their quirks are intriguing, and the plot is well thought out, or so it seems.

Dead ends and open doors as the plot thickens…

No, we are not closer to who or what is behind the killings but emotions are rocked and the mystery rolls on at a steady pace. Just when you think that we are being taken on a diversion, we are brought back on track - onwards, to another city. But the stage has been set to possibly link separate unknowns to a bigger picture. Being one of my favorite authors, the story, as usual is well written and holds your attention. I enjoyed the fact that Alex Vane (from another series) was brought into the mix as a mention and may play a bigger role later on…to be continued. Start reading Crime Beat from the beginning and enjoy!

I received an arc and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Well worth waiting for

This book followed up on episode 3. Cole and Warren travel across the country to a very different atmosphere in Las Vegas. Though less overt action happened, I liked the approach and it's an important stepping stone in the series. It raises questions and provides a hint about what really may have happened to Cole's husband. The character development of Warren and Cole is superb and the dialogue is never stilted. The book was worth waiting for.

Mistakes were made, he said.

Oh yes, mistakes abound in this book! Like the characters, just when you think you have a handle on this, everything changes. Leads evaporate. New wrinkles pop up. Something happens that really opens up the mystery of Jane’s husband, Matt Cole’s, death. A character pops up at the end with a request; I can’t tell you who or what, because, well, what happens in Vegas… you know. You’ll just have to read the book to find out. Love this series!

Even if you haven't read the others, you will enjoy the action

I accidentally read this first before the rest of the series and still enjoyed every minute. Fuller has never disappointed me yet.

Good as always

This was a very good transition book In the series. The book wasn’t very action packed like the others, yet it kept you still wanting to read. I loved the Alex Vane reference as well!

A four star almost A three star!

I have been enjoying the series, but the tempo changed like the author was staling. It was filler to get to the end of the book?

Cole and Warren Go To Las Vegas

The two are in pursuit of the killers, supposedly to kill nine people. A.C Fuller has an exciting series. Next we go to Londen. I can hardly wait.
