From the outside Randy was always one of the lucky ones. Smart, athletic, successful and handsome, the middle son of the town's most prominent family. But deep inside, the truth lay festering in a childhood of torment shared with his baby brother. Horrific abuses from the one person they trusted most to keep them safe have unleashed a sadistic predator of epic proportions. As he moves closer to the object of his rage, the only person who can stop him is the one who shares his secret. A single moment sheathed in blood will change American history, one way or the other. * Inspired by actual events *

Brilliantly written, dark and gory, painfully engrossing, couldn't put it down until the totally unexpected ending. Got it free at Amazon and was nicely surprised at the quality of the writing, characters and plot development.
Not for the faint of heart or delicate sensibilities, for many reasons. Otherwise? Enjoy!
This is a crazy dark ride inside a killer's head. It's such a rarity to find a book about a serial killer that actually takes place from his point of view and puts the reader into his mindset.
It's a little spooky and a LOT disturbing. The violence is graphic, the sex and sexuality is graphically depicted.
It's like one of those movies you put your fingers over your eyes and peeped through when you were a kid.
I'd recommend it to anyone who's interested in thrillers, psychological thrillers or any attempt at understanding the mind of a serial killer.
This deals with very mature subject matter and is not for the faint of heart. Ms. Carlton has handled it with care and concern for the characters. Generally not my cup of tea, but extremely well-written and the characters are all very believable.
Broken...was a hard read for me, I stopped after a few chapters but then I went back and finished. I was angry, hurt, dismayed, and grieving over the loss of children's innocence and mentality and the person they trusted the most who broke it, and the victims who died as a result of this brutality.
