It took Nozomi Aizawa a long time to work up the courage to ask out Azuma-kun, a fellow second-year high-school student... and not long after she did, he forgot all about it. It's been complicated, but suddenly, Azuma-kun remembers Nozomi had feelings for him, so he works up the courage to ask her out. Once, it seemed they had no chemistry at all, but through all the conversations they've shared at the train station, the school courtyard, the lit club room, and the cafe, they finally seem to be getting close!

A slight letdown, a little bit of padding, but overall entertaining.

I suspect that the story is being artificially held back because the next volume is the final volume. However, I wanted a better pay off for their first date—maybe just a little bit less awkwardness and more sincerity. More fireworks, perhaps.

What we did get was excellent character growth on some of the background characters, a narrowing of the gap between the two main characters as they become more honest with each other and their feelings (especially the final panel), and excellent artwork. My favorite art is on the cover. It's a sweet, romantic, slice of life moment beautifully captured in watercolor and pencil.

I may need to read the volume again because something about it felt tiresome to me. I can't give it a full four stars. It was more like a 3 1/2 stars volume for me. But then again, I am sick today, and I am binging the series. Perhaps I just need a break. Perhaps it's not the author's fault at all. I could just be a fatigued reader. This means that I should not read the final volume right now. I should wait until I feel better, when my mind is refreshed. Of course, we know that's not going to happen. Onward!

MY HEART WAS SOARING SO HIGH AS I READ THIS VOLUME!!!!!

These two finally go on their first date, and the trope of him being sick and her taking care of him was incredibly adorable. I can't even truly put into words how I feel about this adorable series. I feel like this one is better than My Little Monster by the same mangaka. Then again, I have always been the girl to like the nerdy boy in the corner, that may not know how to talk to women. :D

The cutest series

This series makes me smile the conversations are so adorable. The randomness of the characters popping in and out In this book works immensely and everything just flows. I have been addicted since the first book!

2020 Read #161

The main pairing is the focus of this volume, but gosh the side characters are a bit more fascinating. The “first date” was super cute, though!

Cute and romantic at points, but nothing out of the ordinary, if anything the side story romance characters have more chemistry.
