Excellent writing. Best commentaries for the lessons. Thought provoking questions allow for more insight into the lessons. Written in a style for both adults and younger students.
I grew up with Standard Publishing Sunday School curriculum. I fondly remember the annual summertime 2-week Vacation Bible School at the Andover Christian Church in Andover, Ohio. My momma served as the VBS Director year-after-year—and she always used Standard Publishing’s VBS material. I share this background info so you’ll realize I have a bias toward SP’s curriculum. But this 2018-2019 Commentary/lessons missed the mark many times. My adult SS class got very vocal about several of the monthly lessons/theme. They were disappointing! We’re ready to move on to the new SP Lesson Commentary for 2019-2020.
I've only reviewed the first two lessons and I'm very disappointed. I've been purchasing this commentary for years and this is the first time there are no blue highlights to other verses. I'm really not liking this because it was so easy to study before. Please let me know if there is an update at no cost.
