And then I read it and was disappointed. I wanted to like it more; but I just wasn't feeling it. I was a bit peeved when Shelby basically used emotional blackmail to get what she wanted from Gray. That wasn't well done of her at all and basically really ruined the book for me. I would have felt much better if she had been willing to compromise or at least listen to his explanation and I really hated Benjamin's rationale as to why Gray should cave. Huge disappointment!
Gray and Shelby began in an affair they both agreed would be temporary. Both parties were good with this arrangement and had in fact parted ways when Shelby learned she was pregnant with Gray's child that turned out to be children as in twins. Once Gray learned he would become a dad his entire persona changed. His greatest hurdle was convincing Shelby that she was the object of his affections and his children were an added bonus. As in most relationships things do not always go as one hopes. After they surmounted the obstacles confronting them they banded together to enjoy their family despite the initial mama drama from Shelby's mom. I was glad that all came right in the end and hearts and relationships were mended in love. Another great Members from Money story that truly captures my heart. Great one Katie just a really great read!!!!
Gray and Selby had a good going that turned into a relationship and eventually marriage. I liked how the two of them really liked talking to each other and we were able to see that. We actually saw them getting to know each other before starting the relationship. Each of them had their own issues to deal with. Gray had to learn how to be in a committed relationship with one woman while Shelby had to learn how to deal with her mother and her painful upbringing. The pregnancy made Gray and Shelby take a deeper look at each other and they realized that they had something special with each other. I loved Gray and Uncle Ben's relationship because the two loved each other and it was nice to see how they showed their affection towards each other. Overall, this was a nice read.
I am enjoying this series. I have some negative comments. 1. I am tired of the "Plus Size" titles. 2. These are adults, do anyone use birth control? 3. What happened to editing? Some of the pages has 5 or 6 words then drop down to another line with maybe 4 words. SMH. 5. Why in all of these books the men sleep around. They go from woman to woman. It's like all the books in the series is written off of the same template. Just a few things changed around in each book. Loved Shelby, her mother wow, not sure if she was a member of a cult or what. She really did a job on Shelby. Loved the secondary characters. Glad Gray met his match, the woman he could not do without.
Shelby is a plus size AA beauty with brains and business acumen to back it up! She is becoming successful with her African inspired designs. She had ended her affair with Gray 2 months prior but she discovers she’s pregnant with his twins. I enjoyed their journey of sharing true love and the role of his Uncle Benjamin acting as their advisor, surrogate father and friend assisting them both along the way! I enjoyed Shelby’s sass and Gray’s beauty inside and out. This was a good read!
Shelby and Gray! Unlikely match, playboy and designer, man about town and woman who wants to settle down. Intimacy is real and the connect is intense but Shelby is not willing to settle and walks away! Destiny had other ideas though, pregnancy intervened and allows the passion to become a love that endures. Emotional because of the relationships with mom that Shelby endures; enjoyable because of the development of the relationship between the two.
Shelby’s strength of will to overcome her childhood and the relationship with her mother helped her succeed in life. When Shelby changed her thought process things became more clearer. It took her mother longer, but late is better than never. My icing on the cake was Shelby’s reply when Gary confessed what happened with Mellie. A reformed rake is always a loving husband and father.
This book was pretty awesome! I'm glad Shelby and Gray found love, and not just because of the babies. I can't say there was anything to dislike, because Gray didn't cheat on Shelby. He treated her like the Queen she was. This book and all the others I've read so far deserves five stars and more. I highly recommend reading all of Katie Dowe's, BWWM books. You won't regret it!
This author isn’t black but pretends to be. Her description of black female leads make it very clear that she is not a black woman. At least let people know you are a white author so we can be prepared for a white womans perspective on black women. It’s so sad because she takes so much away from the FMC. I couldn’t get past the first few chapters. Collaborate with black women and then give then credit for their work. This is highly misleading.
I loved the story between Shelby and Gray. The liked how Shelby and Gray treated each other even throughout the story. I enjoyed the progression and development of the characters with each other. Love Uncle Benjamin and the relationship with Shelby and her mom was well written. I enjoyed the whole story, a nice reading experience.
Another great and amazing romance novel Katie Dowe!!!! I can't out this book down. It contains drama, hope, dreams, betrayal, deception, determination, intrigue , and finding true love. The love story of how Gray and Shelby feel in love was heartfelt. I will be recommending this series to everyone I know!!!
This story was very fascinated and funny with care. Benjamin and Gray is more like brothers they are good for each other. Shelby is my type of woman, say what you mean, and wait. Remember he was a player, didn't want a relationship. So how the mighty has changed. Thanks to the lovely uncle Benjamin.
I enjoyed reading this book! Gray and Shelby had great chemistry and once she informed him of her discovery of being pregnant, things really got intense! It didn't take me long to read this book because it held my attention! I do believe everyone who reads this book will enjoy it. I do recommend it.
Playboy Gray is in for a full figured treat that is definitely not expecting. Shelby a strong wheeled sweetheart. But, for me the true gem of the story is Uncle Benjamin. It is definitely my favorite character. This book was a very fun and witty story about finding love. Great Read!
A progression from friends with benefits to a real committed couple which didn't quite ring for me. The girlfriends and uncle are wonderful and Mom was a piece of "pious" work but overall its a good relatable story. The romance kind of fell flat for me. I mostly enjoyed the growth of the relationship, the businesses and them balancing work/home. Not bad...🤗
Gray and Shelby shared an undeniable kind of love for one another. Shelby wanted more and Gray didn’t. They went their separate ways. Shelby found out she was pregnant. That changed everything. The two found out the chemistry between them was undeniable. True love prevailed
I loved Gray and Shelby! What an awesome friendship and marriage. Katie Dowe never disappoints with her characters. I truly love Uncle Benjamin. He help make this book a 5 star
This book was so good! I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it! I love Gray & Shelby’s relationship! Benjamin was my favorite character. He kept me laughing. I’m happy the couple got their happily ever after
Absolutely Delightful with sizzling hot passion and romance. I really enjoyed reading this story it's fascinating with great characters that are beautifully written and very heartwarming.
I love the series. The book sounded intriguing. I love this book. Gray saw beyond Shelby size she was a beautiful woman. Katie Rowe please keep writing. I'm hooked on your series since your first book.
So sweeeeeee! This book is very romantic and sweet. The characters are very detailed and the plot will suck you in like a hallmark movie. Beautifully written with strong characters presences over all. This story will melt your heart.
This book brought back a few of my childhood memories, I know about the Christmas tree (Jeremiah 10) and all the rest. But I still enjoyed the book and ending
i just could not get into this book it made no sense to me, i have read other books by this author that i like so maybe it's just me but this book was a hard no,
I really enjoyed the book and the extended family and relationship that Gray shared with his uncle; they were funny! I also loved the way Gray fought for and defended his love from anyone intent on hurting her.
