Redemption Looks A Lot Like Love

He’s one court date away from ruining his life.

She’s the one person that can help him.

And she loathes him.

Can he redeem himself enough to make her believe he’s changed?

Griffin McGuire is lucky Judge “Last Chance” Jones sees something in the twenty-four-year-old dog-flipper.

Something that makes him want to give the guy one more shot at turning his life around.

That’s why the Judge orders Griffin to enter Redemption House for thirty days. He’ll have to face his demons and work at Maverick Farms—an animal rescue—run by Mave Frayer—animal lover and advocate.

Mave loves animals more than people—they’re less likely to let you down.

When Griffin finds out that Mave’s hands aren’t exactly clean, and how far she’ll go to protect the animals she loves and cares for—he realizes there’s more to the woman in control of his future.

And Mave’s not sure what to do about the man who’s willing to risk his freedom to help her with her cause.

How far are they willing to go to protect the things they care about? And will it blow Griffin’s last chance at freedom?

(4.5 stars) - An unusual redemption story

There are few things I like as much as a good redemption story, but I considered this one with some trepidation. I love animals, and have even rescued a fair number of them, but my experience with the uber zealous "animal lovers" has not been very good.

Happily, this story managed to stay pretty reasonable. It had just one discordant moment when a character says, "people who have no respect for animals have no respect for humans". Um, no. It's very much the other way around. If you have no respect for your own species, other species will mean even less to you.

The rest of the story is full of warm fuzzies (sorry, couldn't resist), and I particularly enjoyed the twist at the end. I'm eager to see where the author takes this series from here!

*Clean romance level: sweet kisses, nothing graphic

Once again, I have to mention one of my favourite things about this author is that her storylines are always so unique! Since I read so many books I often wonder if I’ve already read a certain book based on the short description or blurb. After a while, stories are so similar that it seems one only needs to change the names and the plots are all the same. Not with this author. I’d be hard-pressed to find repeats in other books on the market. I love her uniqueness.
This book is about a young man convicted of repeat offences stealing and reselling dogs. Rather than giving him jail time, the judge decides to try to rehabilitate him by sending him to do volunteer work at an animal rescue. The owners and Griffin must learn to trust each other and to work together. They each need something out of the deal and it’s in their best interest to make it work.
There is great character development in this book and the pacing is smooth. Although it isn’t written in the author’s usual YA style as the main characters are in their twenties, she keeps the story clean and suitable for all ages. I highly recommend Rescuing the Bad Boy. Very well done.

Oh this book tore at my heartstrings! I easily read this in 3 hours; I could not put it down and by the end of it I was crying for some reason. This story had me hooked from the beginning.
I love animals and have dogs myself so I really loved what Maverick Farms was doing and what they stood for. Mave has a lot of passion about animals especially dogs. She meets Griffin when she goes to his hearing to call him a monster. Come to find out Griffin is a troubled guy who had a rough time after high school. I loved that this story was about second chances and that the Judge gave him the perfect way to redeem himself. The twist at the end of this story was perfect and had me questioning what Griffin was going to chose to do for his future.
I loved the suspense in this story and the growing romance. The chemistry between the characters was great and Paul was a good side character also. The character development in this story is fantastic also of course. I can’t wait to find out what happens in the second one.

Let me first say I love Anna Catherine Field's books. They are such sweet romances and they never disappoint. Her characters are so likable and relatable. Mave and Griff are two of my favorites from her books. Human characters aren't all you'll fall in love with in this story either. Buddy is another personal fave. Not only does she give you an amazing story, she shows you just a glimpse of what it takes to run an animal rescue and how hard, but rewarding, second chances can be. If you're looking for uplifting and sweet with a few life lessons, this author is definitely for you. You won't be disappointed!

Rescuing the Bad Boy

This book is eye opening about the subject of illegal dog fights. It also is very good story of redemption, trust and second chances. Griffin was arrested as a dog flipper. He stole pets and sold them. Though he thought there was nothing wrong with stealing, he quickly learns that hearts are involved with rescuing the animals as he works at a pet rescue with Maverick. He falls for one of the animals rescued as well as the pretty Maverick. What happens when his uncle pulls him back in for one more job? I did find a few things bothersome about the book. The idea that stealing anything, even dogs, not being wrong is only one.

This is the first book I've read by Anna Catherine Field. I have to say I fell in love. I love that Griffin was a bad boy on the outside but really just a good kid with a rough past. He wanted to do good and Mave helps him change and he helps to change her a little on the way too!!! The end of the book really had me angry at Griffin, and then so happy with his decisions. I will definitely be reading more books by Anna Catherine Field and can't wait for more books in this series.

Fantastic story

Two people who come from loss of parents in their youth. Griffin was taken in by his uncle. His uncle was involved with stealing dogs and selling them. Griffin gets in trouble and was given a one month stay at Redemption House. His work took him to a ranch which rescued animals. It all is great and has a happy after ending.
Well worth the read.

What’s not to like?

This is an inspiring, uplifting story of redemption. The challenges and trials the characters face are taken from real life. It shows how choices have consequences and we have the power of choice.

Loved not only Mave and Griffin but the secondary characters with whom they interact. Conversation flowed, as did the storyline. Can’t wait for the next one ☝️

Loved

New territory. The kids/ya have grown up. Griffin and Maverick or just an awesome couple. Love Maverick for a name by the way. Griffin came so far, I'm happy he's got a clean slate.

A wonderful new story from Anna Catherine Field to start off a brand new series.

I really enjoyed Mave and Griffin's journey. Their interactions were explosive at times, sweet at others. The animals were personable, the serious mixed with the fun and awkward... I liked it! Second chances and a shot at redemption is what life is all about.

NB I received an ARC of this book.

Animals and Love

Loved it start to finish. Redemption is a good thing. I loved the feelings of people for animals.
I also liked that the heroine didn't give up on him.

Good read

Well karma got hers in the end. Everyone got what they deserved. Especially the bad guys. I can’t believe what those jerks do to poor. Innocent animals.
