Something After All: An American Story in the Disinformation Age

Rate this book
What if some new affliction were to come into being, a strange “bug” never before seen or heard about before. It’s one that scientists argue over, politicians capitalize on, and companies either profit from or go broke? That is exactly what has happened in Something After All. What follows is the story of how that sort of thing works. To begin, Dean Sardelle is in trouble. The family’s pet store empire is sinking. Some say it’s because Dean’s old man talks to fish. Others say it’s because Dean is the poster child millennial, living with his parents and playing video games all day. His mother’s health issues are drowning the family in medical debt. Their last hope was to send Sheila—Dean’s motivated older sister—off to college to get a business degree. But if the tuition doesn’t finish them, waiting four years will. In walks Midas Murphy, a silver-tongued fellow with a golden touch. He says he can help. What follows will send Dean on a voyage through industry, espionage, alien sex cults, suicide, and a murder; and somewhere between truth and deception lies salvation for the family. Or not.

Very good read with many layers

"Create something that isn’t real and let people argue over it until it is." Once you read this book, you'll see how accurate this quote is.
Having been a fan of John Daulton's "Galactic Mage" series I decided to check his new book out. From the first few pages I was immediately hooked. Each chapter ends on a cliffhanger causing the reader to "binge read" this book.
This book almost feels like a mystery as the reader navigates through the twists and turns of clever marketing.
Amazing read! Highly recommended!!

What do miters, cults, video games and fish have in common? You’ll have to read it to find out.

What a fun story full of twist and turns and based in the central California area.
