Walking Contemplations: Reflections on Rambling and Ambling

Rate this book
Whether you are a rambler or an ambler, a hiker or simply someone who loves to be outside, you will discover within these pages an ode to the world of walking that resonates with you.

“Once trodden by human feet, a natural path becomes a work of man, each traveller marking the way for the next, sometimes departing from the most direct or obvious route to avoid a muddy patch, or to keep out of sight of possible enemies. Feet follow footsteps and so a road is trodden in history.”

J.R.L. Anderson and Fay Godwin, The Oldest Road: An Exploration of the Ridgeway.

Let the evocative passages, quotes and poetry transport you to a place of quiet reflection, contemplation and sublime solace.

A quick novelty read owing to the miniature size of the book, but a pleasant read nonetheless.

A lot of sound bite musings on the joys of walking, rambling and being outdoors from many different contributors.

A good way to while away a few hours.
