All the Button Street children deserve a good home…
Alone and on the streets after their mother ends up in hospital, Charlie has promised his little sister Maisie he’ll never let her feel frightened again. That promise is hard to keep when Maisie falls ill. Hope comes in the shape of Susan and the other nurses at the local hospital. Times are tough and lately they’ve seen even more children come through their doors who need kindness and a loving home. The only way to keep Charlie and Maisie out of the orphanage is to find them a good foster home, but there are far too many people who’d take them in for their own ruthless ends. With decent folk in short supply, can Susan help Charlie to keep his promise?
Perfect for fans of Dilly Court, Rosie Goodwin and Glenda Young!
Cathy Sharp is happily married and lives with her husband in a small Cambridgeshire village. They like visiting Spain together and enjoy the benefits of sunshine and pleasant walks, while at home they love their garden and visiting the Norfolk seaside.
Cathy loves writing because it gives pleasure to others, she finds writing an extension of herself and it gives her great satisfaction. Cathy says, 'There is nothing like seeing your book in print, because so much loving care has been given to bringing that book into being.'
What I liked:- -East End location. -Charlie is just a great brother! -This book has everything - there's romance, a murder, sadness and of course some happiness too. -Really likeable characters.
What I didn't like:- -There was a lot of characters to keep up with I felt.
wasn't expecting much from this book as when I started reading this book I feel like I can predict what coming next but the last chapter really was unexpected. It made its impact. it was just on another level it really made me emotional. overall I just have to say one thing it's a nice book.
Will Charlie and his sister have a happy ending? Charlie promises his sister that he will always look after her and no harm will ever come to her again, can he keep his promise after their Mum dies
This is my first Cathy Sharp book and I think I can say that I have a new author to add to my favourites list! This centres on brother and sister Charlie and Maisie but there are quite a few other characters too. There's heartache, happiness, romance and a murder or 2. I'm looking forward to reading more.
