I read all four books. And I have to say I'm really disappointed in them.
Based on the titles, you'd think football might play kind of a big role. But it doesn't. The guys play, and that's it. Heck, in the third one-Wide Receiver Outcast-Matthew doesn't even play!!! And then he takes over quarterback for Liam in the last book.
Another disappointment was the alternating view points. I actually liked them. (Except for the part where their mannerisms were ALL the same! All the guys ran their hands through their hair and shoved their hands in their pockets. While all the girls sighed and pinched their lips. Surely they didn't all have the same tells.) But they disappeared in the last book. It didn't make sense to have them and then not. If they weren't important for the end, then why introduce them? Oh, to create more books?
And Matthew. What was the point to give him his own book? He was supposed to be some sort of spy and betrayer. But he sees Brielle and suddenly he isn't. At any point did he officially switch sides, because that wasn't resolved. He never came out with what he was supposed to do. And how he was supposed to betray them. The guys knew, but apparently it didn't matter. That could have been such a good plot twist, and it was just weak.
And finally, the constant-and I'm not talking about hyperbole, I mean literal constant-back and forth between the wolves and their fates was mind-numbingly mad. By the fourth book, I was ready to scream and throw my phone across the room. FFS. It went something like Liam sees Cora. Cora sees Liam. And then an entire chapter of whining about how they can't be together and are so broken and how can they possibly go on and walk away. Ad nausem. For FOUR books.
This part actually just pisses me off. Wolfe and Meyer spend four books with this constant drivel and whining about why shifters can't be with humans. (I'm sorry, but at some point it was just painful to read.) Instead, they could have cut about three -fourths of that out, made one book, and created some killer plot twists. Oh, and properly tied up the book. Like, did Liam and his dad make up? What happened with Grayson and Rose? Matthew and Brielle? Why was Mrs Diggory tied up? How about Mrs Gray? And her expectation for Cora to do the books on her practice? What was life like for Liam in the woods?
The bones of the story are there. And its good! Intriguing. Suspenseful! So much potential. Instead, you get four books filled with constant angst that just repeats itself over and over again.
I've read several of Meyer's books. And this is the pattern. Repetitive angst. And very little content.
5⭐️ honestly i feel like this series could’ve been condensed into larger but less books instead of 4 tiny ones but that’s just me. i also definitely think this is rlly similar to twilight but from jacob’s side lol (i’m reading twilight too as i’m reading this series). the ending was kinda jarring not what i was expecting but i mean at least there was an epilogue it just wasn’t as satisfying as i wanted

The series was ok but the ending was so bad. It just stopped and they were together. No follow up with the other couples outcome, no reasons why they couldn't see each other for five years, just poof...they are back together. Doesn't explain how or where they are going to live, how she is going to make it work, what she is going to do with her degree ... Just let's get married...although we haven't seen each other in five years...sure let's do that. It seemed like the author had a deadline to meet or got bored with the whole thing and just finished it off as quickly as possible. I can think of six different ways to explain stuff in about 20 more pages that would have been better. Don't waste your time on the series because the ending will be very disappointing.
Solid finale! But can someone check on Chris? He doesn't show up at the end and we're left to believe that he's either at the dance and leaves Cora alone or someone (probably Liam) told him not to go so Liam could go in his place and get his girl. None of this is explained. IS CHRIS OKAY? Where is he? I can't stop thinking about this! Someone check on Chris!!!!

This one was interesting. It finally brings everything together for a grand finale with our group from Smoky Hills having to take a finale stand to protect the town and their loved ones, especially their fated. They are trying to make a way for them to be with the humans they have fated with because the current pack in the woods is completely against it and the adults have been a little wishy washy. Liam is in a tough position and trying to figure out the right thing to do. I enjoyed the conclusion and it does end with a happy ending. The premise had held a lot of potential for me and I was super excited and it did fall a little short in execution for me but it was still a fun and entertaining story, it just wasn't quite as compelling with our characters love stories as I had been hoping for. The narrator did a good job with the story and characters but didn't blow me away with making it just absolutely come alive.
The story left alot to be desired, very repetitive, felt like maybe a rough draft of a book, it needed so much more. There are contradicting characteristics/ thoughts. The parents lack parenting skills, they also have no spine as adults, like a lack of responsibility, the teenage kids hve more spone then the fult grown adults. There are characters who are mentioned yet have no real development in the story. The back & forth & up & down & yoyo of it all was ALOT. Alot & not in a good way. The characters didnt have any chemistry, the only way one "guy would even touch his "fate" was when she was falling over like a baby calf who couldnt walk. There's also no conclusion to the story, there is not any resolution.
There are bones to this story but it lacked alot. It needed so much more more & it could've been better.
Finally!!! We conclude the love story of Liam and Cora along with the fate of the town of Smokey Hills. I know there are many, many questions, you may have. • Does Liam and Cora find a way to be together? • What happens between the relationship between Liam and his father? • Does Cora’s mom, the new town Vet find out about the shifters? • Does Matthew come back, and where did he go. • With both Liam and Grayson evolving, does Grayson challenge the only Alpha he has been Beta to? • What is up with the Mother Pack in the woods? Is Brutus going to try and take down the town?
Buckle up folks!! You will get ALL the answers to these questions and MORE!!!! The ending is freekin amazing and it was worth the wait!!!
I liked the story idea. I really was bummed we only had Cora and Liam's POV on this one. I want to know things that are probably spoilers like * * * * * * * What happened to poor Christopher? Like poor kid was excited about dance and he just disappeared. So Cora and Liam just live in the woods? No house in the woods? I think the story line was a good though, but seemed things were rushed or not fully put together. I know why give 5 stars then? Well it is extremely rare for me to give less than 5 because these writers bust their butts writing these stories and I liked the characters and idea of it.
The last book of the Smoky Hills Academy is filled with drama, sadness, happiness and conflict. Our original couple Liam and Cora can't catch a break. It seems other couples are coming together, but not these two. Due to other obligations, the overall feeling of doing what is right takes Liam in a different direction. Cora has to find a way to cope. Just when you think they can be together something else happens. It is an okay ending. I wanted more for those two. Seems like they had to give up so much more than the other characters.
Friends and family will be pitted against each other. It has all come down to who will be the Alpha?!!! There is a war and a winner. When I read the end I was so sad that it was over but loved the ending. Not gonna spoil it but you will leave with a smile. Would love an epilogue or 5- 10 years later - Where is everyone? Does the the new alpha's girl become a member of the pack and if yes how?
I love paranormal romance but I don't enjoy all the graphic sex and bad language that's usually found in them so I really appreciated this series. It's well written. The characters are great. The story line is good and interesting. There's no sex or bad language. I'll be looking for books like these!
I had high hopes for this series, but it fell flat. Lots of filler and unanswered questions. Ending was abrupt and no mention of what happened with the friends. If you're looking to fill time until another author's new releases then this may be a choice for you.
Fighting for their lives and for love is all Liam and Cora can do. Will he be able to do whatever it takes to save Cora or will he die trying? A perfect culmination to the series with so many of the questions answered.
What can I say except most of the plot curve was a straight line and there was more drama and excitement (including spice) in any of the Twilight books. Which is saying something. All four books should have been 1 novel instead of 4 weird pseudo-seperatded plots.
I can’t believe how long Liam and Cora waited to love each other, but I am so very happy for the ending to a very sad love story.. I can honestly say that this series really surprised me, it had me hooked right from the beginning to the end..
I am so sad that this has ended! Fingers crossed that there can be a book of their future. To see the trials and tribulations of being the Alpha’s wife, his Luna. Cora deserves this
This was the perfect conclusion to such an amazing series! The ending was shocking but I really enjoyed it. I love that Cora and Liam waited for each other. I definitely recommend this series if you like paranormal books!
Good series overall but the books were so repetitive after the first book. I enjoyed the background plot of the pack wars but everything else was too repetitive. Every book it was Liam being a wuss and an ass and Cora sobbing over it. I kinda wish the pack wars were the main focus
Meer suspense, dat zeker. Maar niet echt een goede climax. Niet op liefdesgebied (alhoewel wel een happy end) en ook niet op het gebied van 'the war between packs'. Ook niet echt een verrassende plottwist.

This book should have been combined with #3 - 1 good book would be better than 2 mediocre ones. Really didn't like the way it ended even though both characters ended up together.
This was a good ending to the series. But it could have been better if the epilogue touched on the other couples future. Or followed Cora and Liam alittle further.
