Build is a tactile board book with removable—and movable—characters and elements.
The movable pieces invite and involve the reader in this story of building not only a home, but a family as well.
• Made in the landmark TouchThinkLearn format—over 850,000 copies sold in the series! • Educationally rich with brilliant, multisensory aesthetics • Features the toddler-favorite production technique of glued on pieces dovetailing with die-cut openings
Build perfectly realizes the interactivity of construction by giving readers a hands-on role with 12 toddler-safe play pieces.
At the same time, this sturdy board book offers a gentle but powerful message that building a home—and building a family—are important components of life.

Do you know a little one who is fascinated with building and construction? If so this is the perfect choice! Each page offers a puzzle as the reader follows a house being built. For example on the first two pages, one child offers a hard hat (emphasizing safety - great to see!) and it's a puzzle piece the reader needs to flip around to put it on the second child's head. As the reader reads about the process the characters use dump trucks, steam shovels and crains to create the house. And on every page there is at least one puzzle piece the reader needs to figure out its proper place in the construction of the new house. This is available now.
This book would be fun for a kid who's really into tactile manipulation - there's removable pieces to take out of one spot on the page and add to another spot. I borrowed it from the library and most of the pieces are missing. :( Definitely not a good group read aloud, but will be very engaging for a tiny person who really likes to build things or do puzzles, especially if you're trying to teach them to love books and reading!
