I have heard about Chinese Medicine but was not too familiar with it and from reading this companion, I now am familiar and fascinated by the whole concept. I never thought that traditional elements of the world can have so many health benefits and when used properly can be a live saver and even miracle worker. It was so intriguing to learn what was in nature as well and the powers it has from. These practices were the most exciting when it came to discussing aromatherapy and massage treatments and how it can be miracle workers for joint and muscle pain which is something I am no stranger too.
We will consider adding this title to our R Non-Fiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.
I went into this with an open mind, but after "despite common beliefs, raw foods do not contain better nutrition" and you don't provide any argument, I just couldn't read anymore. I'm not saying go raw vegan, but you cannot make such an assumption about such a huge food group and not sustain it with arguments.
And the entire book is basically this, which I tried my best to ignore because I really wanted to learn about Chinese medicine because there are parts about alternative medicine that are good, but you gotta support it with facts and evidence...
This is not a light read, but it is excellent, and provides a very clear explanation of Chinese Medicine. As a layman, I found it to be interesting and informative, and includes a few helpful chapters. In most cases, it's an intro to a few topics. It's laid out beautifully, and the info is very well presented/explained. Recommended for those with little to no knowledge of the topic.
Easy to read and very helpful little book that introduces and explains the basics of Chinese Medicine. I knew very little about the subject, but felt as though I learned the basics once I finished this book. I recommend it if you are a beginner in learning about Chinese Medicine.
This book gives a fascinating and in depth insight into Chinese Medicine. I read it as a beginner to Chinese Medicine, knowing nothing more than the words ‘yin’ and ‘yang’ but I came away with so much more. It’s the type of book you will want to revisit for its comprehensive information. It’s also very well presented. . I’d definitely recommend a read. My thanks to Netgalley, publisher and author for a digital copy in exchange for my review.
