A butterfly-inducing list of sinful exploits. Three gorgeous studs, looking to share. Can Payton win the ultimate wager? Or will love get in the way?
When Payton takes a Corruption Quiz with her friend Kennedy, she scores abysmally low. So low she decides to spice up her life a bit -- especially when the two friends place a bet as to who can most improve their score over the next thirty days.
It starts with Jackson, the gruff, chiselled foreman in charge of renovating the Brooklyn apartment building Payton owns. It continues with Gabriel and Ethan - the sizzling hot guys in unit three. The men work both together and alone, competing hard to check off the many boxes on Payton's provocative bucket list. Bringing her to all new heights of overindulgence, along with Cameron, the big teddy bear who rounds out Payton's harem of strong, fiercely-competitive men.
If there's a winner at all ... it's certainly her.
But the situation is not without obstacles, and forces may be aligning against Payton from within her own apartment building. Can her four beautiful saviours make everything right again? And will Payton push far enough into her own secret fantasies to beat out her friend at their fiery, sultry bet?
THE WAGER is a scorching, stand-alone reverse harem love story filled with suspense, humour, romance, and smouldering bet-winning action hot enough to turn your kindle into a puddle of molten slag. HEA guaranteed!

This isn’t an odds on favorite for the national book award, but it will get the job done.
I found the concept of the wager hot - I’m easy like that. I mean the plot has all the subtlety of a porno, but the early scenes are really hot. It peaks pretty early in that regard. I guess it makes sense that a reverse harem would start out smutty and progressively get more romantic.
If we’re picking nits, of course it strains credulity, but no more than any other book about four totally straight guys falling for one woman. There are no condoms ever - not super realistic, but go with it - it’s a fantasy. In a related note, things get a bit messy as a result, which is perfectly hot. My quibble would be some of Payton’s descriptive language around it - “life giving seed?” Payton’s dirty talk could use a bit of work, I’m sure that she’ll get there. She also at one point confuses two of the guys (talks about Cameron’s art exhibit).
Sweet computer programmer Payton and her BFF Kennedy took a sexual "Corruption Test" to see how sexually adventurous they'd both been in the past. They then wager (airfare for their future Tahitian vacation) on who can increase their score more before they book the trip. Payton is clueless how to begin, until her sexy contractor Jackson finds her list of possible things to do (and not do). Suddenly, Payton has opportunities for all kinds of sexual actions, with Jackson, his friends (and Payton's neighbors) Gabriel and Ethan, and his roommate Cameron. But the more time she spends with all four guys, the more Payton realizes that she has feelings for all of them and doesn't know what to do.
This is a fun reverse harem novel without much of a plot. Having Jackson accidentally find Payton's list is a good way to involve him in the action and get the story going without making her seem slutty. I doubt that a one woman, four guy relationship could work in real life, but this book makes the reader almost believe it could.
Another hit by this author. The characters are amazing. What starts as a bet, becomes so much more. Jackson, Gabriel, Ethan, and Cameron are very different and you will want them all for your next book boyfriends. Cameron is my favorite. Payton decides to step out of her comfort zone and finds more than she could have dreamed. The tension with number 7 adds to the story and made me want to reach into the pages and shake someone. This is a sexy, steamy, sweet romance with the perfect doses of humor. I can't wait for the author's next book!

This story is both entertaining and heart warming. Payton and her best friend Kennedy, have just discovered their scores on The Corruption Test, a candid look at their sex lives, receiving points for the things that they’ve tried over the years. Kennedy has always been more outgoing and adventurous than Payton, and her score reflects it. Kennedy decides to set a wager, for Payton to double her score and for Kennedy to reach 100 points when they retake the test in a months time. Payton accepts the challenge and prints out the test questions when she gets home so that she can break it down into definitely/maybes. Home is an apartment building that Payton purchased and is still in the process of renovating two apartments. The others have good tenants that she has kept, but she also has a weaselly squatter in the apartment across from her, who hasn’t paid his rent in well over a year. Unfortunately he came with the building and he’s also living in the apartment that Payton had intended for herself. Payton works from home on different computer ventures including building websites from scratch. When she hears a knock on the door, she is surprised by her gorgeous new foreman when he walks in, helps himself to beer and then goes for a shower! Distracted by his muscles, Payton catches Jackson reading the test print out. Intrigued by it, he offers to come to her aid if she wants him to. With a nonexistent and previously boring sex life, Payton decides to take him up on his offer. Jackson really takes the test to heart, recruiting his friends to help her out. Payton knows that she can trust Jackson and goes along with his ideas, which result in her finding herself having twosomes, threesomes and even moresomes, with Jackson, Ethan, Gabriel and Cameron. All four are extremely good looking and interesting guys that Payton finds herself attracted to and vice versa. They have an awful lot of fun together over the course of the month, score a lot of points and develop relationships outside of the bedroom. This is a well written and entertaining reverse harem story. It’s sexy, steamy and romantic. The relationships and bonds that form between the five of them are interesting. You don’t want to put the book down til you’ve finished it. Another excellent, entertaining book by Krista.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This story is about Payton and how she meets her four men. Payton and her best friend Kennedy took an online "corruption" quiz. When she scored so low, Kennedy bet her that in one month, they could change their scores. And if they could not, then the "loser" would buy airfare to Figi. Let me state there never are any losers in this whole story! Payton is renovating the historic apartment building she purchased and lives in. Jackson is her foreman for the renovations and he's very forward and in control. Payton is wildly attracted to him. When he discovers her checklist for the wager, he tells her her is going to help her out with it. He has wanted her since he saw her. Once he has her trust, he ends up involving his friends. There are things on the list that would require more than two people. That's how she gets involved with Gabriel and Ethan, who are her downstairs tenants. Then he continues helping her with the list by "introducing" her to Cameron. As they work on her corruption, each man is falling for her. Payton realizes that she's falling for the four friends and knows she couldn't choose. They all fit and work so seamlessly together. The only conflict in this story is Payton trying to get a squatter in apartment 7 to leave. The corruption quiz brings so much love to both women's lives in a short amount of time. But who wins the wager at the end of the month? I highly suggest you read this story and find out. Krista Wolf has always been a favorite author of mine. I started reading her and Cassie Cole about the same time, and am a fan. I have to say this book might just be my favorite that Krista has written. It has a great storyline, interesting and believable characters, flows along nicely and very very steamy. If you are a fan of this genre, then this is the next book you want go read. You'll laugh, feel warm and fuzzy and need ice to cool off frequently

This was a fun and enjoyable book to read! The characters were realistic and fun to follow along with.
Payton is having lunch with her girlfriend Kennedy when they took a "Corruption Quiz'. It was asking about different sexual types of things that a person could do. Needless to say, shy and introverted Payton scored very low, unlike her adventurous friend Kennedy. They made a wager that if Payton gets her score up to 100 and Kennedy gets her score up to 150, whoever gets their score to their goal, the other will pay for their next vacation. Payton works from home where she owns the apartment building with 8 apartments, with hers being one of them. She bought the place as an investment, but she has to get it up to code within a certain timeframe. She has issues with one of her tenants that haven't paid their rent for over 8 months and has been fighting with them through the court to get him evicted. She has been watching the two hot looking guys in apartment #2 and can't quite figure them out. Then she has to deal with the workers that are doing the renovations.
Jackson is the outspoken and sizzling foreman of the workers. He gets to know Payton a bit better and sees the Corruption Quiz. He tells her that he can help her out with getting things off her list if she wants. So she takes him up on his offer. She didn't know that Jackson knows a lot of people who have been watching Payton from afar and would love to be able to get near her.
Gabriel and Ethan, the guys in apartment #2, have had their eyes on Payton since they moved in. They were friends in college and when one transferred here, the other came too.
Jackson gets his roommate into the action too, plus all along he helps her to get her renovations done not only on time but under budget!
By the end of the story, both Payton and Kennedy have reached their goals, but they have found the loves of their lives!

Ever felt like you needed to be a little more adventurous in your sex life? Like things are either getting to be a bit too boring? Or pretty much has been your entire life? Well that is exactly where Payton is at. After doing a sex quiz with her best friend Payton discovers that she really hasn’t been living a very adventurous life. After a few choice words from Kennedy (her bff) she is goaded into starting a wager. Double her sex score within 30 days. Can she let go of her inhibitions and let her hair down a bit?
Heck fucking yes.
Oh my word.
So a little background for you. Payton is starting to coin it a bit with all her various online pursuits. As a result she purchased herself a lovely little apartment building. One really old one. In need of some serious TLC. Enter … You guessed it… Mr hotty mc hot but the contractor. Jackson comes into the story with a big ass bang. *pun intended*
Barging into her life exactly as he barged into her apartment he starts her on an a journey like she never expected. Adamant to help her up her score he recruits his friends, and roommate in the endeavor as well.
Suddenly Payton has more men than she knows what to do with, is having the best sex of her life and finally has some hot man candy to back her up when she needs it.
I couldn’t find a single bloody thing wrong with this book. Other than the fact that it ended. I seriously feel like Ms Wolf could have taken us on holiday to Fiji.
Anyhoo. Great book. Great characters. I so instantly fell in love with each of the men. And the longer the story carried on the more I dug them. This book is exactly why I adore RH novels. Each man brought something to the relationship that Payton needed and they were all man enough to know that they worked better together than they would have ever managed to do on their own.
So did Ms Payton double her score? Did she beat her bestie? I guess your gonna have to read the book to find out.
So this was a free ARC from one of my favorite authors and booksprout for my voluntary honest review of this read and I soooo enjoyed it. I couldn't stop reading once I started reading this book, I just had to finish it to see how it all ended. It has a great storyline and great characters to read about, plus it's sooo sizzling hooot.I always look forward to seeing more from this author because I really like reading her books. Payton and her friend Kennedy take a game guiz and their score are low so they decide to make a wager of one month.Their score has to double at the end of that month. This is a sex guiz, so if they finish one thing at a time, they can get half to two points . Kennedy has a few ex boyfriends she calls up to help her.And Payton has a forman that she thinks is hot and he has a few friends he calls in to help out.But along the way she has feeling for each guy but not sure if they feel the same way about her, tell they all tell her they love her. They also help her get someone out of the apts that she owns, thats not been paying rent for over a year. Then they all help her move in to that apt because it's a bigger one, after helping her fix it up, plus two of her boyfriends move in with her and the other two move in to her old apt.She speends her time between both apt at night between all four of them or they all end up in one apt sharing her all at once. At the end of the month she ends up with the highest points but neither friend lost because they both found relationships, and men they love . Kennedy found love with not one ex boyfriend but two.And Payton has found four hot men to love her and share her. What a sizzling hot read, so enjoy it to!

Received ARC from BookSprout for Honest Review. I Give this Book a 3.5/5 Star Rating, Listing as 3.
HEA(?): Yes. Heat: 3.5/5, Ok, I know this might sound weird but here I go..Yes there is lots of heat in this book but it was a bit underwhelming to me, I felt like it was slow yet sped up, so the scenes couldn’t be fully enjoyable. And a lot of the scenes I would’ve loved to have seen done from the ‘List’, ended up becoming implied that they had been done. Romance: 3/5, Despite this being a #whychoose reverse harem, I didn’t really feel a romantic relationship actually develop, yes there is a definite sexual relationship, but I’m talking about Love. It was more pushed in suddenly near the end and it felt pretty bland, cause it just felt like friends. Drama: 3/5, Yes, there is drama in this book but it really didn’t need it. This book could’ve been even more fun just being a Palate Cleanser Relaxing Steamy Kinky Reverse Harem romance. I honestly think the drama took away from the story, the characters and the relationship building, the story became stagnant quite a few times. Suspense: 3.5/5, This is a weird one to rate for this story, but I didn’t have trouble predicting what was going to happen and I was a bit underwhelmed as well by the end in the resolving of a few things.
The thing I gotta say the thing that weirdly bothered me was how the guys found out about the list, I’d rather she approach them rather then a guy snooping around and ‘accidentally’ finds it.
The ending and near the ending felt a bit bland/flat to me and was a disappointment.
But overall it is a decent read and I love the idea.
WOW A WAGER NEVER FELT SO GOOOOOOOODDD WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW What a hot hot read!!!!!!!!!! Hot doesn't describe it really, its explosive its kinky, its oh la la !!! Payton takes a Sex Corruption Quiz with her friend Kennedy and she scores really low. Kennedy does better but feels she could do better so they decide to make a wager to see who can increase there score the most in 30 days. Sex had never been that high on Payton's list but now after that score she was feeling she just needed to be brave and go for it. When there is a knock at her door, its Jackson her foreman in charge of renovating the Brooklyn apartment building Payton owns. Asking if she has any holes that need filling, Payton's mind goes straight to the gutter. But when he walks in and basically helps himself to her shower Payton has to give her self a shake down to have the courage to just go get him. But when he get out and walks into the living room and see the quiz laying on the table, he asks what it is. And Payton finds herself telling him the truth. And to her utter amazement he offers to help her out and gives her a gentle kiss. WOWOWOWOWOOWOWOWOWOWOW that's ALL you are getting out of me but let me tell this is one hot read. It opened my eye to a few things!! There is MMFMM MF MFM MMFM and so much more but that would ruin the surprise. The charaters all have there own qualities and let me tell you Payton is one LUCKY LADY!!!!' kept me hooked till the very last page. Oh La LA give me more like this please woooohoooo

Payton is a web designer and besides working on that she is trying to fix up her apartment building she owns. Currently one tenant is avoiding her because he owes rent so she trying to figure a way to get him out. When her and a friend are out they take this corruption quiz and neither is happy with their score. So they make a bet to double their scores and the winner will pay the other fees for their trip to Fiji. Payton never expected to be able to take anything off that list. That is until Jackson shows up at her place after he finishes up working. He is her foreman and sexy as hell. He asks to shower there before he leaves for the day and she lets him stunned by what is really happening. However once he gets done he finds the list from the quiz and asks her about it. She tells him about the bet and he is stunned that a beauty like her doesn't have any lovers to help her out. So he offers to help her out and things get steamy between them. Soon Jackson has recruited Gabriel and Ethan who are her downstairs tenants. Then Cameron his room mate and a lady friend to bestow a kiss for Payton. Soon things look like there becoming serious and Payton wonders if the guys feel the same for her. Will the guys stop seeing her after the list is done? Can they make a relationship unique like theirs work? Will she win the wager with her friend?
This is a steamy hot story that once Is started it I couldn't put it down. the chemistry between them all is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

So, I'm giving this book about a 3.5 - 3.75 star. It's nothing mind-blowing, nothing that will likely stick with me, and nothing that made me feel much of anything. No anger, sadness, angst, extreme happiness or giddiness... it just, was. There were also some issues with the writing itself in places - words where there shouldn't be any, words missing that SHOULD have been. It wasn't a huge issue, but it was noticeable.
Payton and her friend take a magazine quiz to see how "naughty" they've been, basically. Payton scored a 48, while her friend got in the 80s. They made a deal with each other - if Payton could double her score, her friend would pay for her ticket to Fiji, a trip they planned to take together. If her friend could hit 100 and Payton DIDN'T double her score, PAYTON would have to pay for her friend's ticket. They had one month to accomplish their goals. Lucky for Payton, she happened to bump into someone willing to help her with her list of things to earn her points, and gets some buddies involved as well.
There's a brief scene with some "FF" action (female / female), and I was a bit worried she'd stay involved in the story. There is nothing wrong with FF, of course, but it isn't my cup of tea. It did only last one scene, however, so the focus remained on Payton and the guys.
Overall, it was a book I basically used as a filler between other books. It did the job, it was an alright read, but nothing, in my personal opinion, to write home about, despite how sweet the guys were (especially Cameron!).
I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review. As I’ve said before, I always give honest reviews whether people appreciate them or not.
This story begins with Payton and her friend Kennedy taking a 'Corruption Quiz' while they’re hanging together in a coffee shop. After seeing their results, Kennedy sorta pushes her into a bet to re-take the quiz in a month with the winner buying tickets to Fiji. All right, so Payton builds websites and does computer work from her home – which is a building she purchased herself. She’s having the building renovated but she also rents out apartments on the different floors. Due to her bet with Kennedy, Payson decides to jump right in to win it.
Her foreman is Jackson and he’s definitely a hunka, hunka burning love just looking at him. Jackson is the key to Payton’s…well, seems like Payton’s everything. Eventually he brings in Gabriel and Ethan then eventually Cameron. Wowza! Every once in a while Payton and Kennedy catch up on the phone, so the run to win is going strong…
I have read and reviewed both Sharing Hannah and Unconventional by Ms. Wolfe. This work is certainly in keeping with her other stories. It has a good plot that kept me reading, but the pace was somewhat slower than the others. The story alternated with being HOT, being realistic in life’s turns and then being very sweet. I loved all of Payton’s guys and enjoyed the outcome of the bet with Kennedy. My only real criticism is that while Ms. Wolfe answered any question I might have about the story lines I felt like it was a bit flat at the end.
This is the eighth book I’ve read by this author and she did NOT disappoint. It was incredible!
It all started with one innocent little quiz bringing forth the wager. Peyton was an incredible character. She faced a major trauma in her life that would cripple the strongest of us but she pushed forward. She’s a young woman who is strong, intelligent, brave, and overcomes all. I honestly loved her character. So much depth and openness. Jackson, Cameron, Ethan, and Gabriel are all strong, independent, and gorgeous men. They are all so real. Each with problems of there own that they face and overcome daily. Cameron the deaf guy, Gabriel the insecure artist, Jackson the foreman and leader, and Ethan the engineer. They all have qualities that she ends up needing forging their bond stronger. There are sweet and tender moments, OMG I can’t believe she did that moments, funny moments that have you laughing out loud, and so much more. Then she has the guy in unit 7 who keeps the story from going into too many steaming scenes. The guy in unit 7 brings the mystery and twists that keeps the book super interesting. He is the mystery of the book. It is a wonderfully written book that keeps you reading until the very end. It sucks you in on page one and doesn’t spit you back out until the very end. This author has done it yet again and can’t wait to read what she puts out in the future. I highly highly recommend this book. You won’t regret it!
I love this book. It was freaking HOT!!!!!! I could not put it down until I was finish. Payton and her friend Kennedy made a wager to score higher on a sex corruption quiz and gave each other a month to increase their score. Payton meets Jackson the foreman of the construction company working on the renovations to a building she purchased and is currently living in and renting out. Jackson kind of debo his way into her home and her heart. Jackson’s roommate Cameron is also included in their sexcapades along with her tenets Gabriel and Ethan. The sex is perfect, not too much and not too little. The relationship between the five of them advanced into something more. I like how the author didn’t make a villain that’s out to hurt anyone to challenge their relationship in a life threating manner. It all seemed like a day-to-day, regular type of harem relationship. One thing did bother me at first was condoms was never mention or used in the book but I’m guess some behind the scenes conversation took place (as if these people were real) that settled that. I’m not going to lie if I was giving the opportunity like Payton to experience what she had I would take it too. Overall this was a very good book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It will defiantly be added to my re-read list when I’m in a reading slump.
Picture it. Two friends talking, eating dinner/having drinks, enjoying "girl talk" and taking a quiz. Kennedy and Payton challenge each other to improve their scores over the next 30 days. What happens next is that Payton grabs that challenge and begins a sexual journey to involves Jackson, Cameron, Ethan and Gabriel. Yes, the sex was erotic and hot. Yes, the guys were loving, smart and gorgeous. They each had depth in their character and were already friends. Jackson is definitely the alpha male in this book! He helped Payton on her journey, helping her fulfill her list, while ensuring she was safe and with men who would loving towards her. Payton was able to connect with each guy on different levels. There was a little suspense, a whole lot of falling in love, a little (okay, a whole lot of ) alpha male and a lot of sweet, loving, hot moments. Payton's journey took her from a sexually inhibited, maybe even slightly shy, woman to a woman who wasn't afraid to ask, give or take what she wanted. Payton and Kennedy both benefited from their Corruption Quiz challenge....bring on Kennedy's book! :) All in all, you won't be disappointed in this adventurous love story.

This is a very sexy story with a lot of creative ideas to put on your bucket list! Most reverse harem books are pure fantasy - and there’s nothing wrong with this - but some stories actually seem like they are based in truth, just like this one. You can easily imagine having a relationship with someone who cares about you and your desires so much, they are willing to help you fulfill them. They bring in a friend for some fun and a bond is formed between everyone. And then the group is expanded to include a few more friends. Next thing you know, you have created your own harem and an unconventional romance that fulfills everyone’s needs. Loved the story - and even learned a few new things! I hope the author will write another book based on the best friend and her journey to increase her kinkiness! The helicopter ride sounds like a great scene!
Downloaded from BookSprout. I received this book free from the author for my honest review. Since I rely heavily on reviews to make decisions about purchases, I will never lie or over-exaggerate my opinion. There is nothing worse than seeing a bunch of 5 star reviews and realizing the book is full of errors or just plain bad and not worth my hard earned money!
Krista just seems to outdo herself with every new novel she writes. There is drama, lots of steamy lovemaking and even a little intrigue along with lots of hot sexy men. The story grabs you from the moment you start to read it.
I loved how Peyton deals with Jackson when he just walks into her apartment and just uses her shower without even asking her for permission, how he just helps himself to the beer in the fridge and his casual attitude towards the way he initiated their relationship and then set out to help her win her bet with her best friend Kennedy. The bet alone is a laugh a minute.
The two sexy guys from apartment three to Jackson’s best friend, the friendships they share and eventually how they share Peyton and the sneaky way they help her remove her squatter from the apartment she wanted. You will laugh at the antics of the men and fan yourself from the steam rising from the pages. Most especially how they all grow to love Peyton and the development of their happily ever after.

OMG!! HOT! HOT! HOT! Wow! I loved this book & I didn't want it to end. When Payton & Kennedy started off their little sexy Corruption Quiz game there seemed no way she was going to win as she was too reserved. That was until she got up close & personal with Jackson the foreman doing the building work on the apartment block she owned & lived in. Once he found out about the list he went about ticking them off taking Payton to heights & pleasures she never imagined most of which also included Gabriel, Ethan & Cameron who were Jackson's friends. Not only did they have AMAZING out of this world sex but they also had deep feelings for each other & nobody got jealous as the guys all felt the same sharing Payton who she loved & they all loved her. They even helped her out with the problem tenant she had who was squatting in no. 7 & helped her whoop her friend Kennedy's score winning the game that started off changing her life forever.

*Spoilers * Another great book by Krista Wolf. This book was fun to read, steamy, sexy and romantic. I was ready to find out who was going to win the wager between Payton and her best friend, Kennedy. The author did good with all the characters. Their chemistry was all about lust, desire and definitely love. I have enjoyed reading about all the encounters among the guys, Jackson, Cameron, Ethan and Gabriel. They were totally alpha-male, sweet and romantic. My favorite chapters were Cameron at the hotel and Gabriel with his massage table. Yikes!!! The only thing that I found unnecessary was the weird guy in Apartment 7. At first, I thought he was one of the quartet, but he wasn't at all. To me, it's kind like odd having that extra character. Overall, I like this book, but I wish to know more about Kennedy and her encounters. After all, they both won the competition, right? I can't wait for another great story by Krista Wolf

What's a little wager between friends when the stakes are a trip to Fiji. Best friends Payton and Kennedy raise the stakes when the quiz on relationships and they don't score what they thought they would be. So when one of Payton's tenants accidentally sees this quiz he is willing to help her increase her score after she tells him what is at stake with her friend Kennedy. So while Kennedy is trying to increase her score Payton is doing whatever it takes and I mean whatever it takes to increase in score. The funny thing is that Jackson and his friends Ethan and Gabriel are roped into helping Payton increase her score and then comes along Cameron who is also willing to help her. How does Payton handle 4 guys at once you and will it be enough to increase her quiz when she has to retake the quiz. You will have to pick up and read this book because I don't want to give to much away.

Payton and her best friend Kennedy take one of those silly magazines personally quizzes. Payton scores crazy low and comes out super boring. They make a bet with each other to bring some sizzling into their lives and the challenge, to see who can bring more than the other. Payton opens her eyes and finds that she has lots of yummy options right around her own apartment building. Jackson the foreman that is renovating her building. Neighbors, Gabriel and Ethan. She also has Cameron. All these men are interested in checking off items on Payton's bucket list but what happens when fun and adventure crosses the feelings line? The wager may have been what started this but now it's time to figure out how to make it more for everyone. Is that even possible? An enjoyable story with lots of steam and the challenge of making a fantasy a reality and maybe even a HEA. Enjoy!

Chance pays off four-fold The Wager by Krista Wolf is a well written steamy reverse harem with wonderful in-depth characters. I really enjoyed the premise of this book, the development of the characters’ connections as well as the plot. In all ways, this book is very engaging and found it difficult to put it down. In many ways this reverse harem is reverse in many ways. While the four alphas are by no means destitute, but in this case, Payton is truly independent. She has wealth, an awesome best friend and eventually four hunky, alpha, sexy, unique and independently successful in their own ways. Overall, an interesting book that made these characters endearing to me and created an eager investment in the outcome. As promised, their story ends in a HEA that is as sweet and loving as it is steamy and promising for this awesome reverse harem. I read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
A wager is made between two friends, Payton and Kennedy. To say Paytons sex life has been non existant this last year is an understatement. This book i cant tell you how much i absolutely LOVED this story. It was really a huge Wow for me. The storyline is fabulous and i have to say it really is a must read . Enjoy ladies Krista Wolf has once more done a fabulous job. Definately worth 5 stars.
Survey 4 ½ stars - With the story plot and the steamy sex, the book was hard to put down. The author took one of those social media surveys and turn it into a basis for a story with the added intrigue and mystery provided by Apartment #7’s tenant. The way the men started a personal/sexual relationship with Payton was gradual. It allowed for their personalities and their characters to develop because the narrative was focused on an individual at a time. Jackson, Ethan, Gabriel and Cameron have their own unique personalities. Payton is portrayed as an independent, self-made, capable and intelligent woman. Definitely not a damsel in distress. The story started with a survey but at the end, does the score really matter? [I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]
Peyton bought and started renovating an old apartment building. She has a few wonderful tenants already and one hell tenant. Jackson her foreman on the job decided to intergrate himself into her apartment on a regular as a way of dating her. Accidently he stumbles upon some papers. They are for a wager her and her bestfriend are having. One Jackson fully intends to help Peyton win. As a way to help score points he introduces a couple of his friends Ethan and Gabriel. They are bestfriends who actually rent an appartment from her. Eventually Jackson brings his bestfriend Cameron into the mix. Slowly Peyton starts to fall for each of the guys. Meanwhile the guys are forming a tighter unit then before. Maybe the wager can lead to something more.

Woah was this interesting! I mean you would think that this would be from a guys point of view. Boy was I wrong but I am soooo glad I read this book. So The Wager is actually two women making a bet!! What? Yep that is what I said. Meet Payton, who pretty much has her life together. However, there is something missing in her life hence the wager. What is the wager? Well... I don't want to spoil anything for you. Then she meets Jackson the hunky foreman, Gabriel the artist, Ethan the engineer and Cameron the handyman. So each of these guys meed Payton under different circumstances. However, Jackson is the first to make a move and he does not disappoint. So will Payton win her wager? What will happen once the wager is done? You do not want to miss out on this steamy book! It is an amazing read.
Our heroine and her friend find that their sex lives are rather bland, so they make a bet to spice things up.
This is a contemporary reverse harem romance involving multiple partners. The story is very well written, with an easy to follow plot and a bit of intrigue thrown in as well. That is sort of an extra, through, as the focus is on the characters. I found them to be well developed with distinct personalities that nicely rounded out the story. I actually rather liked her friend that helped start this whole thing. The reader also gets plenty of steamy scenes in multiple combinations (no M/M activities) which provides lots of variety, all of which leads up to a nice HEA. Overall, I found it to be an engaging and enjoyable read.
Highly recommended.
