Rate this book
Passion. Betrayal. Murder. When you’re a private investigator, these are things you experience daily. But when you add capes to the mix-like Batman, Catwoman, and Harley Quinn? Things get even messier. The name’s Slam Bradley, and I’m telling you that this year’s Valentine’s Day special has more intrigue than you can shake a stick at. Ten tales of love-the kind of love that can push people over the edge. Don’t miss it...or I’ll make you pay.

Prior to his first professional work, Tynion was a student of Scott Snyder's at Sarah Lawrence College. A few years later, he worked as for Vertigo as Fables editor Shelly Bond's intern. In late 2011, with DC deciding to give Batman (written by Snyder) a back up feature, Tynion was brought in by request of Snyder to script the back ups he had plotted. Tynion would later do the same with the Batman Annual #1, which was also co-plotted by Snyder. Beginning in September 2012, with DC's 0 issue month for the New 52, Tynion will be writing Talon, with art by Guillem March. In early 2013 it was announced that he'd take over writing duties for Red Hood and the Outlaws in April.

Tynion is also currently one of the writers in a rotating team in the weekly Batman Eternal series.

I quite enjoyed this 80 Page Giant DC anthology. Every vignette has a decent little plot, the artwork is generally competent, and I love seeing characters like Wildcat, the Question, Slam Bradley, and the Pied Piper in their own (brief) stories. I'm a little baffled that so many rated this two and three 🌟s.

I like the Batman stories. The rest? Not so much.

i think i red to much of short story anthology comics , i rarely find those engaging.I understand it is hard to tell a good story in a in those few pages. Some are better than others but in the end i don't think it is worth the price of most of those books. Some stories are about characters that i don't even care about , so it doesn't help me.

If 1 out of 10 story is good on a 10$ book, it is hard to appreciate it.Surely not giving me the bang for my buck.

I haven’t read any comics in months and this one reminded me why. Mainstream American comics are just so predictable and safe and boring. This one is no different.

Despite the scandalous front cover, nothing phenomenal happens in the book. The inside pages are a very loose interpretation of the theme, and most of the stories are bat-universe retellings in noir style. The book was mostly forgettable. I think the Pied Piper story had promise but it fizzled out in the end. None of the others left any impression on me. I can only remember that the art in the Green Arrow and Black Canary story was abysmally male-gaze-y. I have never seen so many ridiculous poses for a female character in such a concise space. Canary deserves better.

If you’re writing an alternative Elseworlds story, why not really push the envelope? I think more than the writers and artists, the DC editors are too afraid to try anything different. So they just keep printing one dull feature after another. As celebrations go, this book is a dud.

3 🌟 for Nightwing and Batgirl; and Catwoman, the other where kind of not that interested.
WHERE WAS LOVE?!? I really expected a romantic comic and well this is the opposite. It looks like short stories about why the super heroes hate love.
It's not my favorite comic, but it wasn't bad at all. It just needed more romantic scenes...

Disappointing

I only liked one story out of the bunch and it annoys me that they have Joker and Harley on the back cover but there is no story with them on the inside. Feel like I wasted my money $10 for only one good story and only meh art.

I can't remember what I read in here. But I think it gets points for Batgirl swinging a hogtied Nightwing around the city after a job goes sideways on him.
