*Editor's Review* PISCES, the third book in Aussie Speculative Fiction's series of Zodiac-inspired anthologies, is a great collection. One of the first stories 'The Fish and the Water Carrier' (Fallacious Rose) is a short but stunning piece, something out of left-field, but a great opening for this diverse collection. The second piece, 'A Gift for Aphrodite' (Aiki Flinthart) tells a captivating story of the goddess Aphrodite, intrinsically linked with the myths behind the Pisces sign. From tales of ancient gods ('A Gift for Aphrodite' & 'The Betrayal of Ikhthus') to a terraforming colony on one of Jupiter's moons ('Seaborn'), to tales of terror from the deep ('Stranded' and 'Seamare') this collection has something for everyone.
The zodiac series just keeps getting better and better. Some familiar names from the previous instalments as well as some new ones.
The stories are beautifully written, some horrific and some that made me laugh out loud and breath between the horror with characters you can both love and hate.
Some great stories by very talented authors! My favourite was Seaborn by Maddie Jensen. She had me hanging on to every word in a genre that I don’t usually favour, that takes talent! Very enjoyable read.
Short stories, not my taste, but it is more my thing. Book itself included short, Pisces related stories. Some of them I realy liked it. Would recommend to someone who want something different.
