This was a great book! I'm not sure why it is not more popular. I think my favorite author right now is Greg Matthews. Thus far I have read his "Heart of the Country" and "The Wisdom of Stones". Both books have been well written, unique, unpredictable and kind of quirky.

What a great storyteller Matthews is! Loved this book and will look for more by this author.

Thankfully, I selected the book based on the reviews so I was able to enjoy it without all the spoilers on the inside flap, which I read only after I finished. Why would the publisher ruin the reader’s fun that way?

This book is so good I read it twice. One of three great adventure novels written by Greg Matthews. One of the most riveting narratives I have read is the description of a POW enduring a test of strength and willpower. Why is there not yet a movie?

This is a very good historical fiction about Australia. You learn a lot about the Australian people and their country. It took me awhile to like the way the author wrote. But he has a lot of good description and good characters. I will read more of his books.
