USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn brings more humor and heart with the fourth novel of her Getting Lucky series: a story about breaking curses and finally finding that swoony feeling.
I'm single . . . so single it's painful.
Yup, ladies, Brig Knightly--that's me--is still a lonely bachelor, stumbling through the streets of Port Snow, looking for the girl he's supposed to end up with.
That is until my brother, Rogan, presents me with the opportunity of a lifetime. The Summer of Love, a secret pen pal program in Port Snow is looking for applicants and I'm the perfect fit.
I couldn't sign up fast enough.
I found myself quickly falling in love with a pair of red lips at the bottom of a letter. Just like in the movies . . .
Life could not have been better, that was until I started hanging out with Ruth Barber. Starting a new business right next to my shop, I found myself gravitating toward her. Her smile, her humor . . . her tea sandwiches.
My attraction for Ruth came in full force, leaving me dazed, confused, and *ahem* excited.
As new feelings for two women come to a screeching halt, I have to figure out who to choose. But when I discover my pen pal is Ruth, it might be too late.
All I want in life is to experience that swoony feeling . . . but I think I might have just missed my chance.
When I was in high school I occasionally read books but was consumed by other teenage things so I didn't take the time to appreciate a good book on a cloudy day, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch. It wasn't until I received a Kindle for Christmas one year that my world completely flipped upside down. When looking for books I came across the Contemporary Romance genre and was sold and I haven't turned back since.
You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.
I currently reside in beautiful Colorado Springs where the sun is always shining and there is a trail waiting to be hiked on every corner. I share a lovely and warm home with the love of my life and my five, four-legged children.
Get ready to head back to Port Snow and catch up with the Knightly gang! The time has finally come to see if Brig Knightly, the hopeless romantic, finally gets his "happily ever after"! Are you ready?
I am swooned! That Swoony Feeling nailed it. Miss Quinn dine it. This book is a perfect blend of humor, swoon, and heart warming.
Brig is just a typical male who is clueless about love while he wants to be loved. The love of his life is right there in front of him. And it takes him that long to realize it.
I love the comedy of Miss Quinn. This book is not as long as the predecessor. So it does not feel drag with the story. The chesnmistry between the characters are good.
That Swoony Feeling is the final book in the Getting Lucky series and I’m seriously bummed that there won’t be any more. I literally had tears in my eyes at the end of this book because Port Snow is one of my favorite fictional towns! Does anyone else feel the same? Ugh! Thankfully, Meghan Quinn wrote this book in the most charming way and while I’m sad to see it end, she truly wrote the PERFECT final story for the series. Brig has been one of my favorite characters from the beginning and watching him get over the “curse” was so much fun. Brig certainly had his blinders on through most of the story and I wanted to physically shake him and tell him to WAKE UP but watching him slowly unravel his feelings was beautiful. Sigh… He’s my favorite.
Does Brig meet his match in Ruth? Well, you’ll have to read to find out! The journey in these two’s love story is one that will leave an impression in any readers mind! It’s quirky, swoony, funny, and downright ROMANTIC. I didn’t expect anything less from Meghan Quinn either. She writes her books with perfection and has a unique flair in each one. I couldn’t recommend them more to readers!
for a book that is supposedly about the brother who out of the four is the most romantic of them, this book lacked true connection, love, and grovel after that mess hero did.. not bad as book three but not as nearly good as book one.. it just goes to show you how you can never predict enjoyment of the read based on the blurb.. 2,5 stars
Girl has a crush on boy for decade. Girl sees boy every day and he never notices her. Girl has to push herself over him time and again and still he doesn’t see her more than a friend. Girl even disguises herself as a secret pen pal and he falls for the secret pen pal and not for her. This is not romantic at all It’s pathetic, sad and embarrassing.
The story absolutely lives up to its name! Adorably cute, sexy and swoony.
➵ Plot: Brig Knightly, the youngest of the incredibly gorgeous and kind Knightly clan, is cursed to be single. He’s tried everything to break free and find his forever love but has failed miserably until he signs up to participate in a secret pen pal program where he’s matched with the girl of his dreams and can’t wait to meet her.
Ruth Barber has crushed on Brig for years from afar, but figuring out she’s been matched with him through the secret pen pal would be wonderful if it weren’t for the fact that opening a business next to his shop has fostered a closeness with him she never would have imagined.
As the two get closer Ruth debates whether to tell him she’s the girl he’s so enamored with or hope that he eventually gets a clue and figures out his perfect girl has been in front of him all along.
➵ Hero: Brig is adorable. He has all the cute and eagerness of a puppy in a very deliciously masculine package. His perfect, except for the fact that he’s so focused on breaking his curse and finding love that he can’t see Ruth for what she truly means to him. I wanted to slap him silly along with the rest of Snow Port, but he made up for it in a spectacularly swoony and tear inducing way.
➵ Heroine: Ruth was a delight to get to know. She’s funny and smart, and just perfect for Bring. I cheered for her and them from start to finish.
➵ Sexiness: This is definitely a slow burn romance. Ruth and Brig start off barely talking to each other, then become really great friends until Ruth makes a move and then their attraction turned into molten hotness.
➵ Story side notes: - The Knightly family chat was awesome. - I love the small town vibe and the feel good factor that is interwoven into these stories. It makes me want to move to Port Snow and become friends with these wonderful characters.
➵ Feels: Meghan Quinn knows how to write stories that are guaranteed to give you the warm fuzzies, from joy to hope, surprise and amusement, and most importantly love. That Swoony Feeling is a terrific, feel good read.
➵ Facts: That Swoony Feeling is book #4 of the Getting Lucky series by Meghan Quinn. It is told from both points of view with a happy ending.
Brig finally gets his love match! This was a fun series. I liked the setting of Main, the small town feel with all the great side characters. I liked the brothers who were the main focus for this series and their camaraderie. The curse behind the whole series was entertaining, as well as, the guys and their pursuit of love. Great series and I would love to find more like it!
Oh Brig, oh Brig, how I wanted to luvvvvv thee...but..tell me if I’m wrong—has there ever been a more clueless hero than Brig? I started out adoring him, he was so sweet and sincere about finding his true love, and at times I did swoon...but as the story wore on I got more and more frustrated with his stupidity! I think at one point I yelled ‘Open your eyes you moron!’
That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy the story, because for the most part I did. I love the town of Port Snow, love the secondary characters and of course the whole extended Knightly family. Loved Ruthie, the sometimes shy coffee shop owner with a wicked wit and sassy attitude, who has been pining for Brig for years, and once they got together it was all sorts of fun. They were made for each other and became best friends. So why couldn’t Brig see what was right in front of him? Why couldn’t he realize that his pen pal (the whole Summer of Love pen pal thing that matched the town singles together) was actually Ruth, who wrote the same things in her letters that she spoke of with Brig? Ack! Get a clue, Brig!
What bugged me the most though was when FINALlY Brig and Ruthie had that steamy hot night of passion, and you’re thinking ‘yes’, but afterwards Brig pulls back, thinking of his pen pal? Good god man, you should’ve ended your pen pal ‘relationship’ right then and there, you lunkhead! Serious groveling should’ve occurred after that, and you’re lucky that Ruthie is a forgiving soul, I thought. And ok, that apology was rather sweet, so maybe I’d forgive you too. :)
All in all a mostly enjoyable read, but not my favorite of the series. Clueless heroes are not my favs, no matter how sweet (and hot) they are.:) 4 stars

I am disappointed. Brig was the perfect character and this book did not live up to my expectations. He was the highlight of book 3 and he has such an innocent & paranoid personality. Instead of this book building off of that, it actually made him come off as an a-hole.
The love story just did not work for me and it felt like he was only with Ruth in the end, because he felt he had to be. He doesn’t want to be with her the whole time until his family forces him to be? It just didn’t work for me.
All I have to say to the author is “WHY!!?” Brig’s book should have been more perfect than this. I am sad.
On the other hand, I am glad for all the fun things that we got to learn about the brothers from the previous books and how their relationships were developing. I am sad this is the last book, because overall I really enjoyed this series.
“I was made to woo, and damn it, I’m going to fucking woo.”
The Swoony Feeling by Meghan Quinn very much lived up to its title, as we swooned all over this story! We absolutely adore the Getting Lucky series. It’s sweet, funny and we definitely have a thing for small-town romances, as well as vulnerable and clueless heroes. Ruth cuts a lonely figure in a town where everyone knows everyone’s business. Having lost her parents and having no one but her circle of friends she’s adamant to fulfil her mother’s dream. Pining over Brig Knightly for years, but never having the courage to do anything about it, Ruth decides that now’s the time, with a little help from her friends of course, unbeknownst to her! Brig has seen all his brothers find that special someone despite the ‘Orleans curse’ which on a drunken night was bestowed upon them. He’s a softie at heart and all he wants is someone to love, who loves him in return. But sometimes it’s hard to see the wood for the trees and Brig has no idea, at all!
‘It’s time to burn some letters that were simply a fantasy. A dream. Exciting while it lasted but devastating when I woke up.’
Brig and Ruth strike up a beautiful friendship which had a perma smile on our faces throughout the book. We wanted to knock some sense into Brig yelling at our kindles for him to open his eyes. Poor Ruthie! That being said, the way in which Brig was written was so wonderful and unique as he really was a funny and super kind sweetheart. Don’t worry though, when the shield came down Brig showed a side of him that’ll get your pulse racing! That Swoony Feeling had us laughing, cringing, swooning and surprisingly we shed a tear as well. The banter between the Knightly siblings is hilarious. The Knightly family bond and the small town loyalty and warmth is enviable. We really want to live there!!! This series is definitely for all the romance readers out there who need an escape which brings laughter and love. A place that feels like a warm hug, a place that feels like love!
‘If what Evelyn said is true, about Brig being blind to possibilities of love around him, then I really should help him open his eyes, show him that it’s not that scary to open your heart, to see that he’s not going to be alone forever. Not if he gives me a chance.’
I just listen to the audiobook of this story over the weekend because, Connor Crais (that.voice.), and it was fantastically swoony and endearing and ridic fun!
ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this instalment of the series. Brig was adorable, even if he was totally clueless, and Ruth was totally awesome too. The vibe between these two was really fun once they started getting to know each other, and I had a fun time reading along and wanting to see what would happen.
I felt Ruth's frustrations by the end, and I can't say I blamed her. I truly enjoyed all the characters in this book, and I felt that this is probably my favourite in this series so far.
I don't really know what else to say, just that I really enjoyed this and I definitely recommend!
I LOVED this book from the moment I started reading until the very end. That Swoony Feeling invokes ALL the swoons for sure. It was everything I wanted and hoped it would be for the legend that is Brig. It made me laugh, smile, roll my eyes at our adorably clueless hero, and ultimately get that ‘swoony feeling’. Meghan Quinn saved the best Knightly brother for last for sure.
Brig Knightly’s story is the one I have been waiting for since the very beginning of this series. His personality is a storyline of it's very own, and I just knew Meghan would ensure sure his story would be as unique as him, and that is exactly what she did! She delivered big style. Brig has such an infectious, charismatic personality, a witty sense of humor and a unique love of life and family that just grabbed hold of me. He’s just so damn goofy, silly and loveable! And Ruth was the perfect girl for him...a true gem! I loved the friendship that they formed, and the relationship that gradually blossomed. Every slow step they took getting to know each other added something special to their fun, quirky and heartwarming story and I absolutely adored every single second of it. It has to be said, not only is Meghan Quinn the queen of romcom but she’s also the queen of the grovel and the epic romantic grand gestures. The banter, quick wit, and that great quintessential Meghan Quinn humor is sprinkled throughout this book and I couldn’t put it down.
Meghan Quinn made this truly a special ending to a fantastic series. I could not have wished for more and it couldn't have been better wrapped up in a better way. This series is so incredibly heartwarming with characters who are such a breath of fresh air, and I'm so happy that Brig's love story was worth the wait. I’m so sad to say goodbye to Port Snow and the Knightly brothers. I'm going to miss this family and town so much! (sobs)

loved this so much and just a perfect end to the series. I honestly want more of these people. I want more of the Knightly family. Brig and Ruth were so cute together and just honestly the family interactions were chef's kiss. Ugh I want more of them!!
Hands down Brig is my favourite and by the end of the book I wanted to move to Port Snow with him ... for him!! Yup Meghan Quinn makes you forget about the world with this beautifully romantic, slow burn story. If you have read the other books in the series , you know all about « the Curse ». Everybody knows about the curse, the whole town knows about the curse! « This whole thing curse had taken over your life »
Brig, Brig , Brig ... it’s all about the curse until Ruth makes him doubt everything... SHE wants him to see her .... « You’re special to him. He might not know it »
They made me laugh, yell and SWOON!! Can Brig break the curse and get his HEA with Ruth?
Perfect summer read!! Real bliss from first page till the end
Me rolling up to Brig's auto shop to whoop his ass for being such a fool:
I know everyone keeps saying that Brig Knightly had blinders on, but let's be real, there were no blinders—THE MAN IS JUST DENSE! You cannot tell me that there was absolutely no way that Brig was not able to pick up on what Ruth was putting down—or should I say putting out?
Brig is lucky he's so adorable and managed to get it together in the end or I would've hurt him!
Now for my girl RuthI LOVE HER! Ruth is my favorite heroine in this series and one of the main reason why I enjoyed this book so much. Her character and I could be twins because I would think something while reading and then a few lines down, Ruth would be thinking the same damn thing and it had me laughing. I'm so happy she got her happily-ever-after she deserved and she's the perfect addition to the Knightly crew.
Overall, I'm gonna miss Port Snow and the Knightly family. Once Miss Rona evaporates from Earth, my ass is headed to a small town on the coast so I can actually experience my own Port Snow adventures. I HIGHLY recommend picking up this series if you enjoy small town romances as much as I do. You won't regret it!
That Swoony Feeling will give you all sorts of swoony feelings. The best Knightly was saved for last. I LOVED this book from the moment I started reading until the very end.
Brig is convinced he’ll never break the curse; he is bound to never find love. Ruth has been crushing on Brig for forever, however, she didn’t have the confidence to actual talk to him. Everyone in Port Snow could see how perfect they were for each other, but it is getting them both to see it that is the struggle.
Brig is sweet, adorable, hilarious, caring, supportive. There is so much to love about him. He wants the love his siblings have all found. He is also frustrating beyond belief. I spent so much of this book frustrated with him and wanting to jump into my kindle and knock some sense into the man. Ruth is hardworking, she wants to continue her parent’s dreams. I loved the friendship that Brig and Ruth formed. I loved the banter and the tension between them.
I love the Knightly’s and the town of Port Snow. I love the roles they all played throughout this story. You could just feel how frustrated everyone was with Brig, however, that grand gesture was perfection. It was so fitting to everything Ruth and Brig.
Brig is my favorite Knightly and That Swoony Feeling is a MUST READ and a TOP READ of 2020 for me.
Oh how I missed the Knightly text messages. This is where Meghan’s witty humor shines most. They were ridiculously funny. My poor swoony man, Brig; the last to fall and the cutest and most romantic of them all.
Ruthie and Brig were the perfect match. They have a very slow burn romance built from the friendship up. I absolutely loved Ruth once the walls came down and she let herself be who she really is. Her witty humor and one liners were hilarious. Brig was adorable as ever with his love of romance and swooning the opposite sex. But at times he was a clueless moron and I just wanted to shake or hug him.
Meghan as always writes a fun and flirty story with lots of witty humor but also gives you all the feels and I may have shed a tear or two. I love how she mixed old characters into this series it just made me smile. She always writes a book that fills my heart with joy and I loved the journey Brig and Ruthie took and that swoony feeling she gave us.
After getting to know these characters in the first book, I think I was most excited for Brigg’s book! He was so dense and hilarious and I loved his story line! I absolutely love Ruth and her huge story line of learning to put herself out there!
Overall, this series was a 4.5 star series for me! Absolutely loved! This may have been my favoring Meghan Quinn series yet!
That Swoony Feeling by Meghan Quinn was such a good read.
The storyline is well written, well paced, entertaining from start to end and I loved spending time with all the characters that have made this series such a great read!
I enjoyed watching the clueless Brig slowly connect with Ruthie, he's such a sweetheart and goofball but he was so blind to what was right in-front of him. My heart ached for Ruthie, she's been crushing hard for Brig but as they say all good things come to those who wait! Brig & Ruthie made me smile and swoon from start to end, these two were made to be together. Loved their story and this series!
Overall, That Swoony Feeling is a wonderful addition to the Getting Lucky series, each book has been a joy to read and I highly recommend them all!
Talk about saving the best Knightly for last! Brig is definitely someone to swoon for - even as clueless as he is! Ruth is perfect and I loved her quick wit and how once she got going with something she was all in. There were so many good moments in this book I can't begin to get into it all. I loved the Knightly family and missed their group texts and their small Maine town. I only wish there were more brothers to continue this series!
I have been waiting for this book since we were introduced to Brig in book one. He was my favorite of the brothers. But this story was so incredibly frustrating. The characters were frustrating. The pace was frustrating.
Did I expect too much? Or did Meghan just drop the ball? Brig had the potential to be one of her best Hero’s. But instead he ended up being a completely clueless moron. We FINALLY get to their first kiss at 75% in and then some sexy time. The next morning he fucks it all up. Like what?? I know you love your conflict, but that wasn’t the way to go about it.
And I wasn’t a huge fan of Ruth. Her personality went from one extreme to another. She was all over the place.
This authors books have been hit or miss for me lately. I get the feeling she’s spreading herself too thin with all the books she’s been releasing. Take your time! I much prefer quality over quantity.
That Swoony Feeling is book four and the last one in the Getting Lucky series. Meghan has created the perfect town, Port Snow, along with the perfect family of brothers, The Knightly’s. This book is what Hallmark movies are made of! Family, angst, laughter, and a slow burn, friends to lovers romance that grabbed my attention from the start, That Swoony Feeling had everything I wanted and needed in a romance! I’m sad to see this series end but I cannot wait to see what Meghan has in store next!
When a fortune teller in New Orleans cursed the Knightly brothers with “broken love,” youngest brother Brig was heartbroken, as he’s a hopeless romantic. Now 4-years later, all three of Brig’s older brothers have found love, but Brig is still single. So when Port Snow is holding a “Summer of Love” pen pal/matchmaking service, Brig is the first to sign up.
Ruth is the owner of Port Snow’s only coffee shop and is quite the busy bee. She took over the shop after her parents died and has worked there ever since. She’s had a secret crush on Brig for as long as she can remember, but Brig never seems to give her a second glance. When her best friend signs Ruth up for the pen pal service, she’s mortified. But lucky for her, she quickly realizes the man she’s been paired with is Brig—and he’s none the wiser.
Wanting to expand her business to a second location—this time focusing on tea instead of coffee—Ruth rents the shop connected to Brig’s auto shop. And the two of them start spending more time together, forming a newfound friendship.
Brig never saw Ruth romantically, but now spending time with her, he can’t help but see her in a new light. Except he also feels himself falling for the mysterious woman writing him letters. Little does he know he can have the best of both worlds and maybe he’ll finally have the love story he’s been waiting for.
That Swoony Feeling by Meghan Quinn is book 4 in the Getting Lucky series. I was so excited to read about the youngest Knightly brother, Brig, because I’m such a sucker for a hopeless romantic. When I realized this was also a pen pal romance I was hooked. I loved reading Brig & Ruth’s letters to one another, where they shared intimate details with each other, while they became best friends in person. It was great to see the whole Knightly crew again but I’m sad to say goodbye to Port Snow. I wish there was more! 4.5/5 stars.
The title for this baby is apt. I swooned, I growled, I snort/laughed and I even got a sniffly. This was a great read and, though I’m crossing my toes that this isn’t the last we’ll hear of the Knightley’s in general, a great way to end the series!
I ADORED Ruth. She is simply a good person who just needed a little nudge ~ okay a few little nudges ~ to live her best life. I loved her sass and snark and just how golden her heart was. Brig is a sweetheart, and I do admit that I did end up adoring him, but he made my eyes hurt from rolling so much because OMG the blinders were so opaque, it hurt. But he has such a golden heart, that I kinda had no choice but to roll with it.
Ruth and Brig’s journey to their HEA was all kinds of fun. Once they got through the initial rough patches, they had a flow that made it so obvious that they were perfect together ~ or at least would be if one of them would stop being so blind. The big roadblock to their HEA wasn’t a surprise, but it still stung when it popped up, but I gotta say, the grovelling was very well done and I loved how everything worked out for them.
While I adored Ruth and Brig and thoroughly enjoyed watching them stumble through their journey to their HEA, I have to admit that the Knightly clan and Rylee and Beck, totally kicked my enjoyment of this baby up a notch. The texts, the meddling, the nudges and simply getting to hang out with all them, was just a lot of fun and I am crossing my toes that we’ll get mini updates on this crazy crew from time to time, because they are simply that awesome!

I just can't get enough of Meghan Quinn's Getting Lucky series! I adore Port Snow and all of the quirky characters that live there. Brig and Ruth are so much fun. I laughed throughout and at times I wanted to smack some sense into Brig but that's what made me love him. His cluelessness is a huge part of his charm! Readers will love catching up with their favorite Knightly brothers and while this book reads as a complete standalone, there are some big ol' spoilers so I highly recommend reading the books in order from the beginning. You'll definitely appreciate the books more when you have the full backstory. That Swoony Feeling is a must-read so don't miss it! 5 stars
